    I bought this model Diamante from my father who had it since new and it was in pristine condition. I can’t remember what issue it developed after driving it for years but I traded it in at a Mitsu dealer and they were going nuts about how it looked brand new inside and out. I felt very luxurious driving that thing around 🙌🏼

    I hope that whomever used your shop isn't allowed to use it again. That's a serious lack of respect. If they do that, you know that whatever they were working on was done half assed.

    I have one of these in Australia. Well looked after they are very comfortable cars to drive. We call them a Verada. Fuel is an issue, but you guys have much cheaper fuel. If it is not rusty it would be a great project car for $400. At this sort of mileage, valve cover leaks are very common, and not hard to change. Older transmissions may have an external filter on top of trans, newers do not. flush brakes, transmission and steering system, change timing belt and water pump etc. as you do not know its history. Change fuel filter and all air filters. These are a mechanically sound car if looked after properly.

    I really hope this video does well, these cars are actually very special too me, my grandmother had one (2001 Magna V6 Si, pretty rare model, funnily enough it was the same colour too, just didn't have a beige or a leather interior) for about 13-14 years, and the thing never broke from what I remember, in 2015 she traded it in on a brand new Corolla hatchback which is what she drives today. Once fixed up, this will make a very good car for somebody for many years to come, these 6G74's are pretty hard to break!

    My mum had a 1999 Mitsubishi Verada Xi. Lovely car and she sold it for $500 after spending $2500 on new tires and cats. I would have bought it if I knew she was getting rid of it. All it needed was a new headliner and had only 102,000 k's on it. I didn't know it was a timing belt, so that was due.

    I had an ‘01 Diamante and I loved it. Wish I still had it. It jumped time and wasn’t worth it to fix. Interior was in tip top shape and the exterior had two rust holes above both rear wheels. Wish I would’ve taken the time and money to get it running and fix those two rust holes. Great car!

    • @kevinthompson3776
      @kevinthompson3776 2 роки тому +1

      I was told that the entire engine would need to be removed to fix it and that there would be more money in labor hours and parts than the car was worth. Hindsight….I should’ve just done it.

    • @mexicanspec
      @mexicanspec 2 роки тому

      @@kevinthompson3776 I understand mechanics like to tell customer that crap, but what you spent on your car, a car you know, still would be cheaper than buying another car you don't know and that could blow up the next day. The throw away society that is the US just amazes me.
      A transmission goes out, junk it. A blown head gasket, junk it. Fix what you have and you know it is a good car.

    • @kevinthompson3776
      @kevinthompson3776 2 роки тому

      Whoa! Who are you to judge? Your comment should’ve been kept to yourself. Another problem with society…. People that judge others even though they don’t know them and hide behind a keyboard thinking they can say whatever they want. Go away.

    The Western European equivalent of the Diamante was sold as 'Sigma'. Fairly popular and luxurious model in the mid-nineties actually. Downside was the degree of depreciation compared to German cars of that period of time. Second hand these were great value for money.
    I still regret not buying a Sigma station wagon 4wd when I had the chance..

    Hi Randy!
    I love to see this car on your channel. Have been following the Diamante on Watchjrgo's channel too.
    I think it deserves to be put back on the road. These are very rare cars and at the time they were new they were far ahead of their time and competitors.
    In fact the Diamante doesn't need that much. A few flex pipes, à new brakefluid resevoir cap, some new tires, a good clean and new valvecover gaskets as well as à tune up. I bet you won't recognize it again after this work.
    Also, put a used powersteering pump on it as well as a powersteering fluid flush. I bet the powersteering system will perfectly work again.
    Thanks for bringing thé Diamante to your channel.
    Greetings from Holland👌❤️💖

I think you got an awesome deal on the Mitsubishi, I would love to own that ole girl. I dig these older Jananese cars. I share your page on my facebook and talk about you on my UA-cam channel. I hope my mechanic comes to help me then I be in business again, YouTubin! You and WAtchJRgo are my favorite of all. PLEASE SAVE THE MITSUBISHI OR SELL IT TO ME, THAN i WILL SAVE HER.

    Honestly these cars a great cars if you take care of em and if your first time driver I got mine at 230k miles for 650$ and I drove it for a year without alot of maintenance and it still held up for me transmission was great the whole time except for the time I forgot to add more to it 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️but when I really started to pay attention to my vehicle and care for it the cars was really really great I wish I still had it today I sold it with 264k miles and got additional profit of it as well but I say that to tell you don't give up on the car the 3.2 v6 in the diamente was the same in my galant and it has 195 hp with 215 ft lb torque that's why it hits like that and honestly I had a lot of bragging rights when I raced a couple of newer vehicles and I actually beat them stock was just mind blowing but those are really great cars

    I was looking at my local wreaking yards and I see there is a 98 Diamante at TearAPart in Ogden UT. It's about 40 miles away from me so I have no idea what good parts it still has. If there is anything you can't find, I'd be willing to head up there and check it out. They may have some of the parts I need for an HHR I'm fixing up too.

    Randy, i forgot to comment about the people you had working and they left your garage a mess, when that happens to me and it usually my brother, throwing crap all over or leaving tools out, i get pissed off like no bodys business, nothing worse than to spend 2-4 hopurs looking for missing tools or they like kicked to the side. I dont tolarat that one bit, and I wouldnt let them back in your garage again, you worked so hard so you can be somebody that reaches thousands of people and your garage is your stage bro, you cant have that going on. I know the feeling. or touching your stuff and leaving it open another petpev also.

    Hey Randy , whats up my Dude , I love this diamante man lovely thing , I indeed one or two years ago I was about to buy this but a 2004 somethin' model , and I really did fall in love with it at first sight , seeing all the options and how sleek and long it was gave a small mercedes type experience you know after using small cars but anyways I really loved it so I loved this beauty of yours as well awesome for the price I would just get it as close to OEM as possible they're pretty tough tanks man , no joke mitsubishi has always built some reliable , hey I now have 2007 Lancer GL and I pretty MUCH didn't know it was low on on transmission fluid , like really dangerously low!!! almost non-existent and the the guy who was servicing it was surpised how it even survived and so I always stand by Mitsubishi's man they are a Good Automobile manufacturer . Stay safe man , Hope you turn this into a beauty , Go for the paint it deserves it , can't wait for the Mustang episodes and the mods and work you goin' for on it , TC , God bless!!

    Randy, you wouldn’t need to modify your tow vehicle if you utilized a weight distributing hitch like the Reese Straight Line. The hitch will level trailer/tow vehicle while improving handling by transferring some weight forward to the front tow vehicle axle as well as transferring some back to trailer axles. I have towed with weight distributing hitches since 1980 and they are truly worth the investment, and they are independent of tow vehicle so the same hitch can be used with multiple tow vehicles. I am still utilizing the weight distributing hitch that I purchased in 1980 - Reese Strait Line.
