Like others have previously mentioned, get a hi-def dash cam. Forward, rearward, and side facing. Having the ability to provide proof at the scene will absolve you any responsibility.

Consider renting the house and keeping the shop. Building a new one with the cost of wood would be expensive. .Rentals can be depreciated and any maintenance is deductible.

Somebody hit my truck in a parking lot back in April, I JUST received my deductible check a couple weeks ago. The only reason I got it back was there were cameras in the store parking lot showing what really happened. Long story short I should of put a dash cam in it first because you just never know

Not too long ago, i was going about 75 on the highway and some guy in a older Chevy Malibu was coming up fast behind me. He was NOT MOVING. Just going in a straight line. I literally had to floor it and move to the second lane and he flew passed me barely missing my truck like inches away. He had to be going 110-115mph. HE NEVER MOVED. He Didn’t try to turn or hit the brakes, just went in a straight line. Had I not moved in .5 seconds later i would have been hit and my F150 would most likely have been totaled. I don’t think he had a plate on it either.

He hasn't done any actual rebuilding in a very long time. He realized he can put very little effort into videos and still make bank off them. Anyway, in Oklahoma, you must have a dashcam, you shouldn't trust other driver, do everything what you can do. I've had 3 hit and run cases in the past 2 years. Never trust other people you don't know.

No dash cam? Time to get one. I've had one for over 10 years. An unusual car like that surely isn't hard to find. Police won't look for it. Uncle Randy ignoring Roxy. She was hanging around waiting for you to give her a pat. I got backed into and had just listed my car for sale. I know how that sucks. I ended up trading it in and got my asking price with the dent.
He very likely didn't have insurance anyway, so you'd have to pay an uninsured deductible regardless in most states. You are lucky he didn't shoot you. This happens a lot more than you can imagine. The car likely wasn't even his anyway and not even legal.
It could have been a lot worse. He could have made you loose control and flip over. A new bumper, a deductible in most states, and a new tail gate is nothing as compared to what could have happened.

I got rear ended hard by a woman who had expired plates, suspended license and a bunch of owi’s. She took off and I followed her and got her plates. Her insurance first denied it until I sent them my phone recording of me following her and reading out her tag number. Took 100% fault.

I'm not American, but I'm really curious about the insurance business in USA because the cars get totaled for NOTHING! Man, in the rest of the world a collision like that would be considered a "minor crash" insurance company will fix that easy and won give you the option to get it totaled. I mean, how does the insurance companies make money totaling cars in this way?

Randy, please reconsider getting Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Coverage. If you or Jessica had been injured in this accident your UM/UIM would have covered the damages for your bodily injury. It covers things like medical bills, pain and suffering plus lost wages. Liability pays the damages if you hit or hurt someone else but UM covers you and your family if someone injures them in a car accident. You really need UM/UIM equal to your liability limits.
There shouldn't be that many light blue early 1970's Oldsmobile cars registered in Oklahoma. Even if they find him, he probably didn't have insurance. It would be a hassle to take him to court. Let your insurance company find him and sue him. Glad you are OK.

shit like this is why i always leave my hitch in my 2019 ram and my hitch is BEEFY. it is the double hitch that i use to put my winch in to pull heavy stuff onto the trailer. im glad i do because i was rear ended in the mcdonalds drive thru by an old woman who cant drive worth a shit. she actually asked " did i just hit your truck?" i wanted to knock her out.

I'm glad you made a video on it because Weston champlin got his tools stolen from his shop and they found the guy through UA-cam with him making a video on it so hopefully somebody will recognize the vehicle and say something did you able to file a police report I'm sure you did but hopefully you filed it and they got all the information they need from you
Don't forget that having an accident reported in the truck's title will diminish the value of it. Fight your insurance company on it, and you might be able to get a check for a couple grand for your headaches.

What you're talkin about your shop going to a smaller shop I did it went to a smaller shop and I regret it very much though really think about it before you start building a garage.
Take it from a person having this experience that's why I'm telling you I would just trade the hellcat in on the diesel that you were going to get so this diesel at the end too Dodge and when you get done you about wouldn't owe anything after doing that or just sell your diesel outright somebody will pay you more money than what you owe
