Luke's mum is amazing walking in such rough terrain at 70 lovely looking as well ,Molly seemed to love chasing around with Jake

How lovely to see Luke's family replete with pork pie hat and a mum who can do boulder ally at 70 (I know where Luke gets it from!) - With Luke's as tour guide and chef and your unbridled enthusiasm Sarah and the spectacular land you have they must be planning their next trip! The Korean video was awesome - just loved the goat names and personalities on the edit - so nice for Luke's mum to see how amazing you are. You and Cinders are such fabulous friends - I hope you know how much you mean to both of us.

Rainy day here so been catching up on some of your videos I have missed. Was considering what you said about your goals to grow your own grain next year. I mentioned millet to you already and would also consider oats and peas planted together. The oats become the peas trellis. There is also the wheat with alfalfa following I mentioned, do they grow winter wheat in Portugal. You could also consider potatoes, they work well for pig feed once you cook them. The traditional method was to throw a bunch in a big pot and boil them up over a fire. Throw some peas and oats in and you got a pretty good piggy porrage.
But the idea that perhaps would be worth a small experiment for you guys would be walking stick cabbage. It was grown on the channel islands, primarily on Jersey. The farmers grew large patches of this cabbage. They would harvest the lower leaves to feed to their jersey cows. The plants get very tall and when done the Islanders would dry out the stalks which took some time. They then made them into walking sticks and sold them to tourists
I am no expert on these but wonder if they might be perfect for you guys if you can get it to work. Feed your stock and sell the sticks on your Etsy store. 🤔
I know that they even dug the plants up and planted them again the next year at an angle so they could grow the cane handle into the walking stick.

Sarah, do you ever wish that you and Luke could be away from the farm together on holiday? As bonded as you are to your animals I'm thinking it would be rather difficult to find a farm sitter who could fill in for you. I can totally relate. I took care of everyone else's animals but when it came to my own I almost never let anyone else handle them. A sacrifice I was very willing to make, as you obviously are too. I really commend you for your commitment and dedication to them. It's lovely to see 😊👍.

Really wonderful to see family with you on your land enjoying the life you've made for yourselves there. Were Mags & Peps feeling shy with folks? didn't see them come around for skritches from everyone. Aww, they still lie side by side like when they were newborn piglets, too cute, especially when you join them.
Yes they were huge attention hogs 🤣🤣 and Maggie slept next to Luke's dad while we went for a walk to the river

Sarah, let Molly eat the berries and any green things she wants. It's nature's way of healing themselves and getting vitamins they need. It's instinct. What a great video.
So happy you enjoyed it Nadia. I let her eat the raspberries and I freeze them for her because she likes frozen berries on a hot day, we have so few blueberries that we try to stop her because one of the plants she got to them still unripe and we had hardly any fruit from it this year
@@lukeandsarahsoffgridlife I just bought a book about natural remedies and food for dogs written by juliette de bairacli levy. One of the original holistic vets. She has one for farm animals too. Raspberry and raspberry leaves are good for dogs and goats. I won't recap the book here obviously. Lol
@@NadiaGarrido-rh2hk I used raspberry leaves to ease labour pains for the goats , don't know if it worked as they screamed like hell🤣
