Luke you may feel fine but please please protect that back of yours. Seeing you struggle with the beam had me holding my breath. Sarah those cute chick's just adorable. And great to see Nick Andrea,Carissa and Iwan.
Great community support. 💚
Those logs aren't as heavy as they look, really. Footage can be deceiving. 😄
The bloopers were worth the wait! Don’t be afraid to include those in the main part of the video. It’s good for everyone to see it’s not easy what you’re doing.
So nice to see Luke back to work! Good luck for your knee, Luke, and for your back considering all those heavy beams! ----- Lovely Sarah, I notice that cute Maggie and Peppa - fenced in - are still under "punishment", because they had been filling their belly in neighbours veggetable garden ... For us followers it's understandable and so cute that these lovely two girls always have in mind neighbours grapes and their vegetable garden, but I guess that it's less amusing for your kind and really patient neighbours...., hehe.
Dear Luke, I can't await to see your outdoor kitchen progressing after so many hot summer months. Take care of yourself with these heavy beams and both of you, stay sane!
Don't worry Sylvia..they're really not heavy ..just a little awkward 😄
When I saw this great video I was so moved by seeing Nick and Andrea and Ian and Christina join you for lunch and support. It’s no surprise that three of the nicest couples in Portugal know and care about one another.
Wow thanks for such a lovely message x x I will correct Frankie off grids names though 😁Iwan and Carissa are super lovely❤️❤️
@@lukeandsarahsoffgridlife thank you 🥹
Stop lifting those logs manually, you're going to get hurt. Use your excavator to help lift.
I'm so glad you are feeling better, Luke
Work never waits for you. 😊😊😊
Love seeing how your vegetable patch is going, I love all your animals & jump for joy when I see you both interacting with them all.
Dear Molly well what can I say !!
She is a super dog , so happy running free around your property , we have never seen her misbehave, such a beautiful dog.
Luke can't wait to see your outdoor kitchen get finished . It's a big project, I know, but with your talented hands, it will turn out just fine.😊
God bless you both. Thanks for sharing your life.❤
Thank you so much Victoria we are so happy you are a part of our growing youtube family ❤️❤️❤️
I’m so glad Luke’s health is better. Hope things continue going well.
Thanks Ruth x x
You two are getting so much done! Luke made me nervous lifting the logs over his head.
Yes he tends to do that to people , you wont believe this but he is so much better than he
was 🤣
Great video guys, and loved the visitors. It's so nice to know you're all friends, I enjoy each one of the channels.
Like many other subscribers I hope Luke takes precautions in his building projects. 🥰
Thanks so much Rhonda x x
Very nice progress!! I just love how everything is reused and repurposed with no waste. I never knew corn stalks were sturdy enough to be reused like that. 👍
Great log work Luke!! It's going to be awesome. Can't wait to see you cooking up feasts with all the friends gathered around.
Every time I watch your videos I wish I come and give you a hand. But I've never even had a passport and there's an ocean and half a continent between us. Also, if I ever came there I know I'd never want to come home. 😁
Take care and hang onto the joy!!
🥰🌾♥️🌾🤗
Supporting us from your home means so much to us Meg and we love reading your wonderful messages
Hey ! guys, pick and use the green tomatoes in Chili Verde or salsas.. Waste not , want not. They can also when green be use as would tomatillos. Don't forget you can plant lots of greens and things like broccoli , cabbage , kale and collards for fall. That's if you start now before the winter comes or First frost , if occurs in your Area. I am and am in Texas, the Central Part. Have a great Sunday- I had to give this bit of Info as I sit and Crochet before starting our Evening Dinner. Ninette Bird- The Caribbean Wife. Tx
Thanks Ninette while clearing the weeds and sorting out garden we are planting a few seeds too x x
Great editing Sarah, loved the musical start - though you might need to add some pop up name tags for the plants. What was the huge vegetable you picked? Are the red berries edible.
Wonder how the pigs would fare if their corn was cooked with a bit of butter on it ?😂 The squirrles by my dad love stealing the corn from the farmers fields and my dad ends up with the empty husks all over his fields.
Now where to start on Luke and his H&S 🤔🤣🤣 Nice to see the summer kitchen moving on. Hopefully be ready for Dirk and his inspection next year???
That laser will come in handy with all the building work for the ruin. The nice thing is,with all Luke is learning building the summer kitchen, your ruin will have an epic wrap around porch made by Luke and his chainsaw (and the trusty step ladders!)
Everything noted for next time Emma , thanks for the great feedback and so happy you enjoyed this weeks video x x
Love those two couples, good to have friends to help each other out!
We agree!❤️❤️
So Glad Luke can get it up now! 😂😂😂 The garden is looking awesome and thanks for a lovely night in our special village bar it was a lot of fun. Next time you feel low just remember to say hello and remind yourself you have the most awesome land, wonderful friends and the best and cheapest bars in the world and a Festa for everything - just come back from the parsnip Festa now and the top of the Estrella and what a scorcher. When are you taking bookings for the outdoor kitchen?
Thanks Pete... had a great night 😄
🎉it's so good to see you all together. Sending hugs to you Sarah. You are doing great with the garden.
Thank you so much Grace x x
Golly gosh it's hard going, good for getting the poles up eventually. 👌🔔🔔🔔💗
So great seeing all you guys together.❤
Oh my gosh Luke loved the way you said I’m fine absolutely fine after struggling with that beam 😂
I’ve just propped all my tomatoes up don’t think they will ripen but gotta give it a go and with this wind think it will have to be green Tom chutney
I have one more courgette left and a load of carrots to dig up
Thank you for sharing 😁
We are really happy with our produce this year but it is also thanks to Carissa and Iwan that our pigs get to eat so many delicious pears
Just to have a small portion of your wonderful life would make me so happy, great to watch 😊
You are so kind Thanks for being here for us ❤️❤️
Great zucchini hack! I’m going to use that next season, for sure.
And the bloopers! 😂 Poor Luke.
Glad you liked it!!
Loved the video!!! Happy to see your friends visiting! I watch both those channels.😊
Awesome so happy to hear that
Luke at the end....YEAH, totally fine 😅😂😂😂 Sarah you should add more of bloopers, but not only that Luke makes though 🤪 your veggies really picked up after the rain 👍👍👍and well thought of you reusing the sticks of the corn. Great idea 💡 Luke be careful and Sarah...happy you feeling better ❤
We don't have that many funny moments on camera 🤣🤣
@@lukeandsarahsoffgridlife then you have to let the camera keep turning 😜
@@carolemattina9869 🤣🤣
I was shocked to see the "bloopers" at the end of the video. You are lucky that Luke was not seriously hurt with those logs falling at odd angles towards him.... You should have asked the people who came for lunch to help and it would have been done safely and quickly.
Those logs look heavier than they are.. . Was just a bit awkward 😄
Great community of friends the love and friendships unbelievable
You're a tuff boy luke. Don't do yourself in again. Glad to see you have on your safety crocs and kevlar socks ,I'm more of a steel toe cap flip flop guy . All the best to you. Light and love.x
They are steel toe clogs so I should be ok 😜
You looked far more relaxed and enjoying the gardening. Great harvest, loads of growth with the wet weather.😘👍
Absolutely loved this video ❤ especially the bloopers at the end❤❤
Love seeing your visitors. Kitchen is going to. Be true one of a kind. I like your garden ideas.
Thank you so much Juanita
God bless him! He needs some help getting those big logs up! Thats very hard work by himself! 😢❤
I did chuckle watching Luke at the end but oh that is soooo hard!!!! I think you need scaffolding or another helper or two. Luke you are so strong!!!! The kitchen plans are amazing. I think Derk needs to come back to help you! LOL! Great video and so heart warming to see friends visit. Take care and Luke be careful so you don't hurt yourself! Sarah you too on all the garden work. Take care and see you next time.
Thanks so much Jan x x have a great week
It's so good to see that Luke's leg is much better, and you are progressing the gazebo❤
Yes he is so much better and thank you so so much for you know what ❤️❤️❤️we really appreciate your support so much x
Luke, you need to invest in a Japanese hand saw and an Alaskan mill for your chain saw. And Luke please get a set of chainsaw chaps. Safety boots and a proper helmet / eye protection for chainsaw use.
Can't wear the chaps .. get too hot in them. I prefer keeping my legs out of the chainsaws way and always holding it properly so the safety switch stops any kickback. Eye wear I wear most of the time..I do forget sometimes, have to be better with ear protection for sure.. my clogs are steel toe and help a lot with my back cos they are super supportive (what I used to wear as a chef). I am getting better at safety...
Not quite there yet though 😄
BIRKENSTOCK please sponsor this coolest off grid self-taught builder chef!!
I love the way you repurpose using the corn canes Sarah. So nice to see Andrea and Nick, Frankie of Grid visiting you, lovely people. Glad Luke is getting better. Have a lovely day.
Thanks so much! 😊❤️❤️
Loved this video. Luke I admire you, so determined, well done. Loved all the bloopers, hehe 😂 Love to you both 💜
Wow Luke, heavy work, not easy doing it on your own. Don't know where you get the patience, I'd be using big words already. Looking amazing though, I'm sure you'll be rewarded when you stand back and see what you achieved.👍❤
We can't wait , it is already taking shape 😁❤️
Luke is a workhorse! He will have that kitchen up in no time. Liked the way you reuse the corn stalks. Almost everything you have is usable in other projects. Nice to see your friends visiting and sharing a meal together. Maggie and Peppa tore into that corn, lol. Molly notices all these changes and I think she may like them. Your garden is looking so nice. Hopefully you can catch the rain to fill up your wells. Enjoyed your video. Catch you next week, take care.
So happy to hear this Cathy, yes the rain is doing so much good around the land ❤️
Luke is quite the artist! Sarah, we would have been fast friends, I'm sure of it. How's Luke's back? God speed, & many prayers 🙏🏻 Nurse Judi in Scottsdale AZ and Eucharistic Minister ❤❤
Thanks Judi
What lovely produce❣ Such nice corn for the piggles. Aww, I wanna help ferry tiny chicklets🐤🐣🐥 in a box 😄! I was wondering how your upside down tomato plants turned out. Maybe they'd be more productive without pepper plants competing from above? Sarah, you really put those weeds in their place! and your other plants, too, with cornstalks! brilliant 😃👍🏼
Luke is a wonder. With multiples of him is how Stonehenge was built I'm sure! Uhm... how many ☕s buys some pretty scaffolding? It'll still be useful to treat the posts, do tall jobs (to get up to mow the green roof??).
Yay!! 🙆🏻♀️ Nick & Ange and Carissa & Ewan, and Frankie & Dioggo❣
So happy you enjoyed this weeks video Ruth❤️❤️
Great to see how you just get on with the job, no matter how complicated.
❤️❤️
😂😂😂😂 I knew it was going to be Luke and them boards!🤣🤣🤣🤣 "Safety First!" RIGHT!! UNDER THE LOG!! 😂😂😂😂 YOU MADE MY DAY! I was telling you, but obviously you couldn't hear me, to put one side of the log on the top rung of the smaller ladder while you walk up the taller ladder and place that end. Then just grab the other end and take a few steps up and place the log! Of course I have a bad back and that's just I suggestion! I Love your Channel! (I miss the white things jumping and head butting). I won't mention them again. Sarah mentioned working on there place, which, ya know. But still great! I love Project Portugal, Nick is a Master at Everything! I didn't see Angs' finger wrapped, so this must be before that. WHAT was Wrong with Luke? Did I miss something! 🙏❤🇺🇸🇵🇹⛵👣🤗🤙
Thanks for the tip Michele and yes we will have a kitchen in the ruin but The outdoor kitchen is necessary so that we could get woofers to help us build our beautiful ruin😁
@@lukeandsarahsoffgridlife I think you responded to someone else under my name.
@@melinda5777 oops🤣🤣🤣🤣
Afternoon x x❤
Afternoon😁
Cuidado. Os troncos são muito pesados. No fim ficou lindo 😊
Glad Luke is feeling better and able to work, glad someone mentioned he should not be lifting the logs manually, let’s also mention how silly it is that he does not wear a knee brace…..just asking for trouble and then he will be back where he was before, Not being able to work, just stubbornly silly. ❤
Han har jo en gravemaskin som måtte være bedre å løfte tømmerstokker med, for den er vell ikke blitt ødelagt igjen?
They're really not that heavy yet... I should be using the digger but I have a hydraulic leak so only trying to use when absolutely necessary..till we fix it. I have been using KT tape and zinc oxide tape to strap my knee. It's great. Better than a hinged brace.
Thanks for your vid 😇💟💟💟 Love and bless you guys, Luke never gives up haha funny maybe use some roop to hang the beam on one side and then leye the beam on one the other side and then you leye the side with the roop just a idea 💡. beautiful garden you guys still have I mean a lot of veggies good work too.
We have so many pumpkins growing this year and this makes me happy because the pigs just love them😁
Cool my favourite youtubers together❤
❤️❤️
Ace!!!😍🇨🇦
I need to get some of those steel toe capped sandals 😂 Great job as always guys :-)
Steel toe clogs... basically chef shoes
Birkenstocks? Steel toe?? 🤔
Cool 😎
Great vlog. Lovely to see the other You Tubers visiting.
Loved this video guys, the bloopers were brilliant 🤣thanks for a delicious lunch, hope the piggies enjoyed the pears :) xxx
They loved them x x
You are both awesome… love watching your life unfold and like us all the hardship of decisions… one thing I’d like to point out to Luke is … hey man you have a digger… use that to drag and lift the logs…. Keep being awesome….be well😊
The digger has another hydraulic leak unfortunately.... trying to minimise its usage and save it for the heavy central column and mother beam 😊
wow! How inspiring watching you working on your beautiful project! Thanks! 😍😍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Luke please please where PPE are you seriously Tring to give me a heartattack ❤😮😂
😄😄 sorry about that
great job you two
Thanks x
Surprised Luke you’re not using the activator to help life those beams up. Just a thought
I have another hydraulic leak again so only going to use for the heavier lifting till we can sort it out.
Pears poached in wine is top, just a tip😂
Thanks Lea but the pigs are too young to drink🤣🤣
😂😂
To prevent back pain, he should avoid wearing slippers and siting low chairs (so it won’t block the circulation), which is known to cause back problems.
He needs to wear proper arch supported shoes… preferably NewBalance classic series.
Please take care❤
The shoes I'm wearing are exactly that. They are steel toe clogs (chef shoes ) that are very supported
Great progress! Love the ending…😅❤❤❤❤ we like to see you suffer Luke! 😝
🤣🤣🤣
Good Jooob😊
Awesome work luke, keep safety in mind do i had sweat in my hands watching u lol 😂😂
😅
Dear luke, have you thought about using the digger to do the lifting, this may be good for your knee and back. From experience, lifting and stretching with weight above your head is a sure way to slip a disc. Hope im not telling to suck on too many eggs
🤣🤣🤣 digger has a hydraulic leak. Trying to minimise its usage and keep it for the heavier ones to come.
Only the bolts will remain there!!,go,i waaye!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
???
❤
so the "editor" caught the math issue of 126cm... but did Luke catch it in time? :D
I am terrible at maths so would not have caught it anyway. 🤣 Luke told me about it
🌹🌹❤🌹🌹
❤🎉😊
Totally fine…hahahaha
🤣🤣
😁🤣😂😁
😅😅
❤
You have a digger, can’t you use it to lift the heavy rails for the outdoor kitchen?
Digger has a hydraulic leak.. will use it for the central column and the mother beam but trying to keep its usage to the minimum. The ones I put up so far really aren't that heavy 😄
Why the hell is he not using the mini digger?!! That bucket arm is the perfect tool for that job, handles the log like nothing
The digger has a hydraulic leak so I'm trying not to use it. So far the beams I've put up really aren't that heavy. I will have to use the digger for the central column and the mother beam because they are heavy...
why don't you use the the digger to lift logs
Digger has a hydraulic leak.. will probably have to use it for the heavier central column and the mother beam but trying to use it only when absolutely necessary
And way not use the digger to leye the beams you don't have it for nothing bind the beam on the backed and hup put it on its place.😇💟💟💟
I do have another hydraulic leak so I'm avoiding using it for now till we fix it. Will probably use it for the central column and the mother beam.
Maybe wearing a hard hat would be a wise idea. I was worried the whole time I was watching you with those heavy logs 😳🪖
Don't worry... those logs look heavier than they really are.. and I have a hard head 😜
😄
Luke😢 building wearing Crocs can cause stress fractures in ankles. Get real, please.❤
They're not crocs they safety clogs and are awesome. What I used to wear as a chef
Sorry Luke but you are asking for trouble. Get your protection gear on!!! Incl. glasses. 😡🙄❤
I'm getting better 😄 I do wear glasses most of the time... I do have to up my game when it comes to ear protection though
You can't imagine the amount of misunderstandings and confusion a person has who's lost most of her hearing (and who doesn't like wearing hearing aids). Daily. 88yo now, but worked many years without ear protectors 😔.
Also hearing loss adversely affects brain function (memory, speech, walking, etc).
🌟👂🏽🌟
Hey guys love your videos but you need a bit of help to plant how you work your land the is this youtuber call The Dutch Farmer his land is very similar to you and you can get good ideas from him good luck
We know about him and he is a professional gardener , you can t expect that level from beginners 😁we will hopefully get there when the garden becomes our number one priority
Oh my goodness, Luke is going to kill himself. There has to be a safer way to raise those timbers.
I put them up and down many times to make sure I cut them right.. mostly went smoothly. Looks much worse than it looks as they're really not that heavy
Ok, Luke, you are going to hurt yourself! You need to hire a local for even a half day-it’s not worth causing irreparable harm to your neck!
It looks worse than it is.. really! 😄 the logs really aren't that heavy.. yet.
