Uncovering hidden gems on our abandoned land
    #Abandonedland #Offgrid #offthegrid
In this video, we'll be uncovering hidden gems on our abandoned land. Using a strimmer to clear the brambles we uncover old terraced walls and amazing natural features our land has been hiding from us. This is a hard job but such rewarding work that makes us appreciate all the natural beauty around us. We also share the goings-on on our farm

If you put together a wood frame that’s slightly taller and wider than your cape gooseberry and cover it in clear plastic you can put it over the plant and it will stop it getting frost damaged. It won’t really change the temp but the frost sits on the plastic instead of the plant. Works for anything you can’t move inside. I forget the name for it, maybe a cloche? Someone here will know!

Sweet little Wobbles is getting stronger thanks to your Mommy Sarah magic🌟💖.

(I thought it looks like a 🐢's head too.) Looking forward to auger bramble destroying footage 😄! Comfrey is excellent for citrus and you can make a salve for sore joints or muscles but the root is even more potent. It has a deep tap root so you won’t kill the plant if you take some root. Put the leaves at the base of citrus or better still plant near the citrus.

nice rock - Punta Tortuga -
for the frost on your vegy garden you should build a DIY heating system - can go few ways about it - a solar heated and fire heated (small stove fire ) - basically you run a bunch of small diameter pipes in the rows of the garden - can be baried maybe 2 inches deep - old copper line for gas should be the best but copper is not cheap - i guess a plastic / rubber will be fine - since you probably won't get the water that hot -you only need to warm up the area -15 degrees not boiling - the small stove heats up a coild of (copper pipe ) that feeds the hot water and circulate it through the garden then cools down at the ends comes back gets warm etc - you could most likeley keep it for few hrs untill you go to bed then i believe it should keep the frost off (maybe put small stones under the pipe that would soak up the hit and stay worm a bit longer)- there are few video's on that on you tube that explains it better than i just try to explain not very well - any way good luck with the digger engine hope it works

Great work! My 2 cents: you should think of investing in a tiller (magna tal-hart). you can till the mulch into the land, increasing the organic material in the soil which will decompose and fertilize the land. You could also incorporate the ash into the land as a fertilizer if you burn the brambles. It would also make farming the land easier, preparing the land for sowing seed/growing veg. Tilling the land also aerates, accelerating aerobic organic decomposition of vegetable material. Also would recommend constructing your burning bushes over the base of the trees you fell. This kills the rootstock and prevents it from re-emerging in the future(if that's your intention anyway). Cheers

When all those names started rolling I thought the video was over. When I later went to watch it a second time I realized it wasn’t. I love this channel but that was a bit confusing.

We started putting the thanks in the middle because of that very reason😁 too many people just click the second they see words so they leave before the episode is over and i am finding this is working better because it is the middle of something good happening and it is just 5 secs . I have been trying this out for over a month and like the results . Sorry it confused you ❤️

at what point will your land be your land and no longer "abandoned land"?

🤣we still haven't been to some parts of our land yet so yes I guess it is until we have cleared it. It doesn't become unabandoned just because we purchased it. It had had no care for over 40 years

No land is entirely useless. You just need imagination and hard work to bring neglected land back into use...
