Woo Pow!!!! I had spent $200+ and driven in access of 150 miles picking up parts. Then I got lucky and watched your video and although it was not the same problem as yours I found it in your video. I started looking for the 2 fuses and found mine had 4 in the same area of your 2. Two of them were blown , I replaced both and know my cart is humming along like it has for past 8 years. Many thanks to you for your video. At least I have a new Solenoid and gas pedal switch. God bless you for taking the time to help people out.
I like the meticulous way you put the battery wires. I’m like that too. Thanks Kevin.
I like to keep the wires nice and neat. It makes it easier to troubleshoot in the future. Thanks for watching!
Thanks! Got mine running.
Great!
I'm glad I found your channel. My EZ GO/Cushman 800 hauler won't start. I'm not certain yet that I'll be able to fix it but I am very hopeful now that I've watched a couple of your videos. Out of curiosity, what is it you spray on the battery terminals?
I replaced the battery studs and the bolt for the positive terminal. Now the cart starts.
Hi Kevin. I buy a 2004 Yamaha goft cart. Not enough power. That pin already pull to the end. Any suggestions where to check. thanks
Hi there! I have a question about this model, this vehicle has a generator to charger the battery?
I just spent 90 minutes cleaning every terminal and changing ever part from one cart to another to discover it was a bad battery that only had 7.5 volts with the charger running all night. You should have 8.0( minimum volts) at the Positive and Negative side of the solenoid. Lucky for me I own more than on cart and was able to switch parts back and forth.
I have a thinner positive cable that broke off somewhere. The engine won’t start and I’m not sure where it needs to be connected. 2 positive wires coming off the battery. One broke off somewhere.
Anyone know where it might go?
Great video! What did you spray on the battery terminals near the end?
Since he did not show us, I assume WD40.
Hi, I know this an older video, but I have Yamaha drive that hasn't been started in a year. Cranks, but won't start. Ideas? It was fine when it was parked in the garage.
Start with the basics. Disconnect the fuel line from the carburetor and make sure you have fuel flowing by cranking the engine. If fuel comes out, remove the carb from the engine and clean it. 90% of the Crank, no start issues are bad fuel, fuel pump or dirty carburetors.
great video can you tell me if the g16 has a oil filter?
Typically, no. Older Yamahas do not have spin-on or internal oil filters.
Lead terminals are garbage. The lead will move and loosen up the connections. I moved over to brass marine style with studs. A little more money but it's worth it. When you see those nuts pull through the terminal you will know what I mean. They call them temporary for a reason.
thanks
You're welcome!
Thanks for skipping showing us you cursing and swearing crimping on the new ring terminals for the thick battery cables! I would like to have see how and what tools you used to crimp those ring terminals to the thick cables. That was a critical step to have "magically" done off camera. Anyone can do what you showed. Crimping those ring terminals is a bitch.
