Amazon Basics Wireless Remote For Canon Cameras shows this very simple yet effective wireless remote for canon Cameras. It is so simple that it worked right out of the box on most of my cameras with no additional changes. It was literally push the button and the camera started to record video. For photos I did need to set the timer for it to work, but that was very easy as well. This thing just works!!

How is it with focusing? I have had my phone tethered to my 80D and had difficulty getting things to stay in focus. I never know if it’s the camera setting or me.

The focusing is kind of tricky. You have to set a 2 second timer at least before you can take a photo with it. So it will focus initially but you have to stay perfectly still till the photos taken. I us it occasionally for photos but I mostly use it to start and stop video.

It works with all 4 that I own. The R6, 90D, 6dMKii and the T7i. Not sure about others.

It pairs automatically. I didn't pair it. And it works with all my cameras. Again, no pairing. Just worked from the get go.

What camera do you have? Amd did you set the 2 second timer like I said in the video? It wont work unless you set the 2 or 10 second timer for photos. It should still start and stop a video though.
