Thank you so much for your clear explanation. Purchased this remote... and it works perfectly! Thanks again! You've made my photography and video work soOooOoo much easier!
I like it. I love using my cellphone as a remote because I can see what my camera is seeing.... but it tends to disconnect and no way I can get that far away. Thanks for the review.
Thanks--exactly what I needed! I much appreciate your thorough testing of the devices firing range. I need something I can take astrophotography selfies with, and I would often need to be several metres away from the camera. Looks like this has a better range than the Canon equivalent. Question: You mention in a question below that the R5 must be set to either 2 sec or 10 sec delay in drive mode, but it seems that even so, the camera responds immediately when you push the button on this remote?
I appreciate this test Todd. I have this question anyway. When you do video recording is the LED of the remote on the camera turns red... and stays red (or flashes) ? On the current Pixel remote I own, the LED turns red only a fraction of second and returns green. When you are at a certain distance from the camera, sometimes I can't be sure recording started? Thank you very much.
Hey Bruno, When recording video on the R5, the LED on the remote flashes one time when I start recording and flashes two times when you push the button again to stop recording. Mine does not turn green, just flashes red. You just have to trust that it's recording when you see the focus assist light on the front of the camera flashes one time when you start recording, and it flashes again when you stop recording. Hope this helps. Todd
To be clear, every time you start and stop video recording you are creating a new video clip. Using the remote does not "pause" recording. It ends recording. pressing the remote again will start a new video file. Correct?
@@NickNoblePhotography Holding down the shutter button doesn't work. : (. I was able to push the shutter button fast, but it only let me get 3 frames off with out a delay. The delay is small, but it's not at all like continuous shooting. Bummer.
Thanks. Often for things like star trails, or walking into a Milky Way shot, it’s nice to have continuous shooting! The external wired remote does not go well with my L bracket on R6.II
@@ToddEckelman90 thanks for replying. I finally found one UA-cam video which explained the set up for an R6 and she had to contact B&H and they talked her through it so she made a video. Remote is up and working.
Hi Lori, I don't know why it's using up your battery so fast. I have never changed the battery in mine. Are the buttons getting pressed by anything when you are not using it, or is one of the buttons stuck down? That's the only thing I think that could be happening, or it's just defective.

Glad you liked the video. It does work great!

thank you for the video, i couldn't get it work for video until you mentioned the remote for video needs to be enabled.
Glad it helped!
Got my remote connected, yay! Thanks for the walkthrough, Todd.
Hi ! Thanks for the information! Do you know if I can still be tether to lightroom or capture one while using the remote?
I never tried that, I think it should still work. I am out of the studio on location for a few more days and will try it when I get back.

Thank you for a great video and testing the functioning range of this!

Can I do continuous shooting (like holding shutter button down for shot after shot)??? Thanks.
I don’t know. I never tried that, I will see if that works.

Doe sit have to be in 2 sec or 10 sec drive mode to work?
Yes, you need to set the drive to 2 sec or 10 sec mode to work.
It’s not working on my R6 - in fact there is not even a remote control setting on my menu. Not happy Jan.
I don't have an R6 to test it with. Does the R6 have a Bluetooth setting? Is it turned on?
