- In this video, we are creating loose blue watercolor flowers in a very easy and free-form way. We'll look at freehanding a design, mixing colors and easy ways to create layered interest. The final painting can be used for yourself, for gifting, for creating cards - tons of uses for this technique!

✏️ Supplies Needed ✏️
I have only provided specific links for the things that can't be found at any art/craft supply store, and I do not get commission on anything I recommend - these are just the supplies I love.
Paper: I usually use Strathmore 400 acrylic paper or Arches paper but for watercolor, any watercolor paper will work. You're looking for paper that is 140 lbs. or heavier. Arches tends to be expensive, although it is top quality. Strathmore 400 is more affordable and still excellent quality to paint on.
Watercolor: In this painting, I used my Art Philosophy Co. Watercolor Confections Tropicals set - I mistakenly said Josie Lewis in the video, but the sets are similar and I got confused. It was the Watercolor Confections set - linked here - www.artphilosophy.com/
Absolutely check out the Josie Lewis set thought - it is an excellent set of paints, and I do have that set as well - www.josielewis.com/wcshop
Tape: I prefer Scotch wall safe tape - available at most stores and online
Brush - I used a #8 round brush and a 1" flat brush. My brushes are all different brands, so I don't have a fav to recommend - just make sure they are for watercolor.

I just found you recently when I was actually looking for whimsical and really like your channel. I also love this one of the flowers. I am so much a very obvious untalented person who loves to try to create. 😂 I’m in very poor health so I do my painting in bed which is a challenge but it is something that gives me a hobby to help pass these long days. I especially love to make cards and that lets me also encourage others as well. But back to this video….i love it. It is beautiful and simple. I love tutorials that are not overwhelming and make me feel defeated before I start. I also have problems with florals….these are lovely and simple. I love the blue shade. I know this is an old video but if you still have the last plate you used to mix your paint on the various designs around its perimeter would make great embellishments for abstracts or fill ins like the Sun 🌞 Moon 🌕 you did on one sheet of paper.
