- Watercolor Flower Triptic painting how-to. I'm just a girl, her cell phone camera and watercolor sharing with you how to create a whimsical watercolor flower painting of 3 different panels. This is called a triptych. Once painted, you have lots of options to do with the final painting. We make the drawing and painting easy, so beginners and more advanced painters alike will enjoy the process.

✏️ Supplies Needed ✏️
I have only provided specific links for the things that can't be found at any art/craft supply store, and I do not get commission on anything I recommend - these are just the supplies I love.
Paper: Any 140 lb. watercolor paper will work, but I usually use Arches. This can be spendy, so Strathmore 400 is a more affordable option but still good paper. At the end of the day, use what you have - just try to make sure it's 140 lbs. or more. That helps with warping.
Pens: If you are drawing on top, pretty much any pen will work. If you are drawing first, you want a waterproof pen. I love the Uni-ball Eye Micro and Uni-ball Deluxe - both are ballpoint, which stand up to the texture on watercolor paper very well.
Watercolor: My most used sets are Josie Lewis and Art Philosophy Co. Watercolor Confections sets

Tape: I am currently loving Scotch Wall Safe Tape, but washi tape is a good alternative. If you use masking tape or painters tape, make sure you de-tack them a bit because they can rip the paper more.
Eraser: Because people ask! :) I love the Pentel Hi-Polymer white erasers
Brushes: I really love the watercolor brushes from Nfinity Arts by Fibnacci - nfinityarts.com/pages/art-sup...

Hi, Dawn! ❤️ It’s so interesting how we can find similarities in different forms of art. You know I’m a stitcher and I do art journaling. Art journaling is completely compatible with what you do, of course. Those could be awesome focal points in an art journal page, but stitching is quite different, right? Maybe not 😊. I was here slow stitching and watching your video and thinking how much of what you say and teach applies to stitching: not expecting perfection, not worrying with wonky lines, not stressing about colours not getting exactly how we planned, etc. Even the meditative state you talked about is so so similar to slow stitching. When I started, I tried to be perfect (my mother taught me how to stitch, but thank God she never expected me to be perfect), because I watched UA-cam videos in which artists stitched so perfectly. Not that I’m criticizing that, but it’s simply not my style, and many times people feel so pressured to be perfect that they don’t even try any kind of art.
So I believe we all have a lot to learn with each other, in spite of our different art works. I certainly learn a lot from you. I confess that I don’t know if I’m going to try this, because I have many stitching and art journaling projects, but I will surely watch all the videos you upload in the future, because you’re such an inspiration to all of us who may doubt our skills. Thank you.
