- This watercolor and doodle paint-along video is designed for you to do along with the kids in your life (or just yourself if you like). My thought was that with so many kids home on winter break, it might be fun to have an activity to do with them. We use watercolor and doodle drawing techniques to create a fun winter polar bear based on an idea I got from a first grade teacher in our local school district. So much fun! Enjoy! ✏️ Supplies Needed ✏️
I have only provided specific links for the things that can't be found at any art/craft supply store, and I do not get commission on anything I recommend - these are just the supplies I love.
Paper: Watercolor paper - use the brand you like. I usually use Arches, but that can be expensive. Strathmore and Canson make good watercolor papers. Look for something 140 lbs. in weight or higher.
Pens: I love Sharpies, but generally any waterfast pen will work. Some of the ones I love are Sakura Pigma Micron (felt tip), Uniball Eye Fine (rollerball) and Uniball Deluxe Micro (rollerball) - I've really been loving the rollerball pens over the felt tip pens lately.
Watercolor: My most used sets are Josie Lewis and Art Philosophy Co. Watercolor Confections sets

I also love Daniel Smith watercolors. The two sets above are great for beginners because they are good quality paints at a reasonable price point. Daniel Smith paints are more expensive.
Tape: I prefer Scotch Wall Safe Tape, but you can also use Washi tape, masking tape and painters tape (see video for my comment on using masking or painters tape)
Eraser: Because people ask! :) I love the Pentel Hi-Polymer white erasers
Other: Pencil, flat brush approx. 1" and round brush (I use a #8 size in this video) - brush brands are personal - I don't really have a recommendation there because I haven't found a brand that I swear by yet. I have a bunch of different brands and I've been happy with them all so far.

I've been subscribed for about a year and want to tell you how much I enjoy your videos especially since you moved to overhead camera. I watch you on my TV and it would be sooooo good if you could fill the screen as opposed to just a third of it. Don't know if it's called panoramic, full screen or another name. FYI I watch from an island called Mallorca in Spain. Thanks again for many hours of enjoyment, inspiration and relaxation.

And thanks for letting me know the videos only fill part of the TV screen. I haven't watched on a TV, so I hadn't realized that. I'll see what I can figure out - I'm a little technologically challenged where making videos is concerned, but I try.🤷♀️
I do know there is usually a button toward the bottom right corner on videos on UA-cam that let's you choose full screen on your device. I know it works on tablets and computers. Haven't tried it on a TV, but might be worth trying on your end. Let me know if you try that and whether or not it works.

Actually it's the same on my tablet and phone even if I enlarge.
I think it's a format thing rather than size and unfortunately only on your videos. Even though it would be better to fill the page it doesn't stop me from watching. I just wonder if anyone else has the same problem.
