Man, Marc Davis... what draftsmanship! The lines are so alive. Is this his hand, or the work of a cleanup artist? Animation HAS to become this good again.
THIS is why I love this film. For some reason, animation quality began to fail the moment Walt Disney died, and only really came back after the success of The Little Mermaid.
@MonsieurMajor It's because with Walt Disney, a lot of the great animators of the company also followed behind him. There was the period where everyone in the studio was still learning at the time. And finally, animators like Glen Keane, Ken Duncan (for a few films), Andreas Deja, and many more started to push the animations of the films to what they are now. At least that's how I see it. Everyone has their interpretations

That's not true, Great Mouse Detective has amazing animation, same with The Rescuers and Robin Hood
She has the most perfect character design and animation of whole disney ever.
