  • So I have finally managed to get behind the wheel of a RHD Mustang GT! But did it meet my expectations?! In this video I carry out a full review of the car, to hopefully help out anyone considering buying one!
    Massive thanks to TC Harrison Ford for loaning me the vehicle, check out their latest stock and offers here;

    It's always interesting seeing different perspectives. Here in the USA, every high school parking lot has Mustangs aplenty, but the RS is a much more unusual car and definitely draws attention.
    There's also a huge Mustang modding culture. People do anything you can imagine with them, I'm sure it's the most modded American car.

    Great video! What road presence the Mustang has, when I went to buy my Fiesta ST there were people just taking pictures of themselves with it on the TC Harrison forecourt as if it were a supercar. Would love one but think the RS edges it as probable next car for me - better all rounder and cheaper in terms of purchase price and running costs?

    I would love to have gotten a 'Stang GT but up here in the snow belt of PA AWD is a wiser choice so I went with a '18 Focus RS.

    Great review, just realized this was the 2017 model, I'm thinking the 2018 GT might impress even more. I'm actually torn between the 2018 models of these two right now. One great point I have heard many times, at the end of the day, it's still a Focus, interior is not impressive but handling is amazing. The Mustang has that wow factor and less "boy racer", and the 2018 should take it to the next level. For me, like you, I like small quick maneuverable cars, but my wife said if I get a new car I CAN'T get rid of my heavily modded 2005 Mini Cooper S, so maybe I'm good with the Coop and a 2018 Mustang? Thoughts?

  • @meshplates

    Mustang has a presence the rs can't compete with. Handling can be upgraded a lot and with a nicer set of wheels it can look even cooler.

    Is it me or is the shut line off between the bonnet and the front bumper? It's driving me mad. I had a 2.3 convertible one of these as a hire car in America and loved it. Hopefully the second hand residuals will come down within the next 2-3 years and I'll get myself a nice example.

    I drove one and can say that RS is much more precise and balanced that Mustang GT. Probably because V8 engine is heavy and it's hard to balance the car at the front. RS is better performance car and more practical. RS is also faster on the corners and has more grip. Unfortunately my wife loves GT.

    • @FastLifeVlog
      @FastLifeVlog 7 років тому +5

      RS is performance car, Mustang GT is cruiser - quiet fast cruiser and good looking with nice sound of the V8. RS is just better car overall and more exclusive.

    • @JasonV8S550
      @JasonV8S550 7 років тому

      AdrenalineAddicted The RS is certainly better suited to UK roads. More exclusive? Not a chance, the Mustang is far more exclusive than the RS. The Focus RS will get some attention, but nothing compared to a Mustang. The thing with Mustangs is they're designed to be modded and being rear wheel drive they appeal to a different clientele.

    • @saauuzza
      @saauuzza 6 років тому +1

      RS just too hard to live with everyday with dead hard suspension, engine revving at high rpms while simply just cruising down the road at 70km/h. Unless your goal is to go to a tight small race track every weekends the RS would not be the better car. The GT feels smooth, quiet, and refined compared to the RS. The engine feels lazy and happily sits between 1000 to 2000 rpm all day long from 0 - 110km/h. It makes very little noise and it does not labor in freeway speeds. When it comes to exclusivity nobody going to notice the small hatchback that is ford focus. The mustang will always turn heads.

But all jokes aside first yr road tax put me off a bit plus practicality were as the focus fast still be the most powerful car I have ever owned more practicality but it's not a mustang Does anyone know what the road tax is for first yr Focus RS. One last thing Mustang Black with white stripes and tinted windows or Blue with White stripes

    great review and especially appreciated to hear thoughts of a RS owner since currently the top 3 cars I am thinking of is MK3 Focus RS, gen6 Mustang GT and B9 Audi S5

      As a b9 S4 owner (Virtually identical car) I wouldn't recommend it. They are fast and capable but are as dull as dishwater for a keen driver. And although I've had a no issues with mine quite a few guys in the owners club have had some costly major issues.

    Great vid ..One of the best real reviews of a Mustang and coming from a person who knows a performance Ford (RS) ..In Australia we had until 2016 the mighty Falcon also.. The later ones ran this V8 with a supercharger too .. Also there was the equally great 4 litre quad cam inline 6 Turbo ...Absolute rocket ship . Engine legendary...shame you never got it in England ..
    Here's a snippet from early 2016 ...The GT he refers to is from 2014 , this ua-cam.com/video/qTq1yIOfVK4/v-deo.html ..
    I own a 2008 XR6 naturally aspirated Falcon ..still bloody great fun to drive and looks great too ..0-60 in about 6.7 seconds , the turbo is 5.0 seconds in stock form . Thanks again for the fantastic Mustang GT review ...

    “get into the bends” softer!!! You have the original factory fitted Pirelli P Zero’s which are from America and are made with a softer compound and are very soft sidewalls not very good in bends they only have straight roads over there!! lol.
    First thig owners do is get rid of the Pirellis ASAP, then the handling is much better in bends

Also, how forgiving is it during moving off from a standstill, does it require a decent amount of revs? Ahhh I just hope I drive it back it in one piece!

    I took a look at the 5.0 convertible as I am in the market for a new car. Stunning looking car and the best looking car that Ford have ever designed but my Ford Dealer told me that there were none in the country available for a test drive and there was a one year waiting list. He promised to email me some prices but i never heard from him again. Talk about crap service from Ford. So instead I ordered a Merc SL 400. Your loss Ford.
    Having said all that, equipment levels are sparse on the mustang, very few optional extras and I could tell it was built to a budget because the plastics felt really cheap. Maybe I am biased because i have always had flagship Mercs and BMW's.

      @bazookajoe-theguybehindthe4205 7 років тому

      It was Allen Ford in Swindon. The guy just wasn't interested in getting my business. Hardly inspires confidence in Ford caring about new customers. Yeah they are about 15-20k cheaper than the SL400. Equipment levels are a lot less but the Mustang is such a good looking car. I test drove the F-type and new Porsche Boxster but didn't really like them. So I have the SL on order and my 6 series convertible goes back in a few months
