Madtroll I don’t even type with it. Right shift will be the last key standing lol
Honestly, yeah that's about how I feel. I like the big arrow keys more than I dislike the weird right-shift key.
I was going to agree at first, but then I realized... I actually use it! I'm a software developer amongst other things, and shift + insert is sometimes how I paste things. Granted, it doesn't happen too often, and I'm pretty sure I could live without it.
Gamer or not, it's more convenient to use than the left shift key when combining with the number keys (the top row not the pinpad lol)

But yeah it's still stupid
This generation of naming schemes is the worst. In the old days the first number indicated the generation and therefore the architecture but if I remember correctly (it's so stupid I didn't bother to remember) the number before the G indicates the architecture: Wether it's a 0 or a 5 indicates its architecture and one is 10nm while the other is 14nm. I use a stealth with a core x chroma (RTX 2060 inside). Fantastic performance, CPU being the only slight bottleneck sometimes (and i really mean only sometimes), and have had no issues with it. I don't use the right shift key to type, so I haven't run into any issues with the keyboard, as well as the fact that when I'm home and it's plugged in, I'm using my mechanical keyboard. 10/10, addicted to this ultrabook/core setup, and I would recommend it to anyone that can fork over the extra cash.
Upgraded mine with a 2 TB M.2 NVMe. Plays most games very well for my personal taste.

Had ordered this the same time as I ordered an XPS 13 2-1. They both came in on the same day, and next to each other it was almost no comparison. Dell's screen is so much larger and better looking in a smaller overall package, and it has a normal sized shift key (seriously Razer, what the hell is that?). Wound up keeping the Dell, it performed well in the older games I play. Love my XPS.
I’ve only started trying to use the right shift since I saw people complaining about this laptop. I’ve always used left only, and I get about 80 wpm touch-typing.

Yep. That right shift key / up arrow layout? The reason why I ... begrudgingly went with the Alienware m15r2 over the Razer Blade 15. I REALLY wanted the Razer 15. I love my 2016 Blade (1060). But with a few iterations of the current Blade 15 and that keyboard... well, there it is. I type on my laptops, and having a broken keyboard by default is a no go.
I got one 2 weeks ago, I been waiting for something for a long time. It's tiny and plays anything you throw at it fkn sorcery is what it is.
Yall ever heard about 720p ? this laptop kills it at 1280x720p and with the screen size youre getting the same level of picture quality as if you were playing on a 24" 1080p screen, you know... switch to 720p, max out those settings, enjoy better fps, better graphical fidelity and sometimes even much better temps :)
Never in my life have I used the right shift key.

Pretty much on par with the Razer Blade anyway.

I bought one as soon as they were released. I would agree with Linus's assessment. For me, I needed (ok...wanted) the portability and gaming power. It works pretty well but I do feel it's a little under-powered compared to my previous 3yr old GTX 1060 6Gb equipped Asus laptop. However, the drawbacks don't bother me as I rarely use the right shift and battery life was actually an improvement over my previous Asus laptop. It's pricey but for those of us that need both portability and gaming power, it's the best option on the market.
I honestly can't remember the last time I used the right Shift key. I actually just poked my pinky down there to see if it felt at all familiar or brought back memories of times I may have used it, and it felt so foreign that I actually questioned where and who I was, got scared, and then just placed it back on the semicolon.

Let me tell you: I have never used the right shift button on any keyboard. lol
Only people who type a lot use the right shift as is usually taught in typing courses lol everyone else doesn't use it
Why would I use it? My left thumb is on space and my pinky is on the left shit/ctrl/alt. Also my hand can reach left shift + p. Why would I need to use that button? Typing courses are for office workers.. I never learned to type, yet 130 wpm is easy for me though I never typed that much. Also Im left handed. No courses needed, only affinity and training, you will learn how is the fastest to reach the keys. Since everyones hands are different like in shapes, muscles, streches etc. So there is no point not believing when others say that they dont use it. There may be some who actually likes it smaller.
I've used the Razer Blade Stealth since the new one came out, and I've never had a problem with the right shift key.
The right shift key wouldn't be an issue for me, I've always been a left shifter, the only aspect Mavis Beacon failed me in. Otherwise I'd totally get this laptop. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, for example, went from 15-19 FPS in one of the busier city areas no matter what settings I had selected (lowest/720p) to 50-65 (mostly max/1080p).
The Witcher went from 80 FPS MAX on lowest/720P (not that it couldn't be turned up, just demonstrating how bad the CPU bottleneck was) to 80 FPS on Ultra with a couple things turned down/off like Hairworks AA. On lowest/1080P, it easily cracks 150 FPS - which is where I have rivatuner set up to limit framerate.

Something you never seem to take into account when talking about keyboard layouts like this is that full-size arrow keys are often much more pleasant to use than those with squashed up and down arrow keys, especially when playing games which heavily utilise arrow keys. Smaller up and down arrow keys, compared to full-size ones, are much harder to reliably and quickly press, which can be problematic when playing games like The Binding of Isaac where reliably making quick key-presses is important - the fact that this is a gaming computer makes this even more pertinent.
I understand that the small right shift key is annoying, but I think a lot of people would consider this a reasonable compromise to make.
