Your “non UA-cam “ personality is why I watch you. You’re real man. All that “fake” getting excited about nothing bs is a turn off. Love your stuff. Be safe
Marinade trick. Don't use a bowl. Get gallon ziplock bags. Mix it up, put in the meat, and seal it with minimum air. Then it fits in the fridge easier. or can be set in the sink
Agreed. But also, soak the rice for 30 minutes, then 1:1 ratio of rice to water. Bring to a boil then simmer for 6 minutes covered. Turn off the heat and keep it covered for at least 5 minutes.
It’s awesome you mentioned MAV because you and MAV are literally the only “van/truck life” videos I watch everyday. You guys have such down to earth personalities and always look forward seeing your videos!
@@princealbertz this definitely makes sense, i feel like if you're an introvert and prefer the space and just want to experience life in your own way it would be really fun though. Not everyone feels lonely in the same way!
as a 50 year old Korean who live whole life in kerea, I never expect in this life a American cook and enjoy Korean bbq in the middle of desert ,especially the yellow can rice-fermented punch 'Sik-he' usually Korean grand mothers make for their children.
Wait...I've been binging your videos for a week and DEFINITELY thought you were a chef😂. I love food network and dream of van life, so van life+cooking is UA-cam gold in my book lol Also..not having a "UA-cam personality" is what makes your content easier to watch. Just a person living life. It's not gimmicky and unrealistic.
I watched a few vanlifers on youtube before, up until the algorithm gave me you. I watched the recommended video, then binged all of your videos. And you're my favorite VanLifer and the only one i actually watched ever since. Somehow your personality clicked with me instantly. The other van lifers i used to watch weren't my style. You're raw, and i could watch you forever, just doing what you do. And thanks to you i finally started to build my own van after years of wanting to do that. Thanks for choosing to show us your life, it's amazing entertainment and relaxation.
I enjoy the fact you take the viewers along with you 99% of the time, the adventure never ends watching you. Thank you for showing different thing and enlightening others!!
I actually found your videos from watching Mav, it's been like 6 - 12 months now and I'm still here watching your weekly videos, love them mate! You are a massive inspiration to all!
Ryan - Really cool to hear the origin story of you and the van. Puts things into perspective that doing what you love isn't always convenient or easy, but following your passion can take you places you never thought you'd be. Maybe your story will inspire others to take the leap and start living life for themselves. Always a pleasure to share meals with you and see the beautiful places you're going. Your personality is real and your attitude is infectious - it keeps us viewers coming back. Thank you!
out of all the van lifers I watch...you are the most organized, well-planned, and least complicated easygoing individual, you feel so homie even in the middle of the desert alone cooking, I adore you hehe 🌱🤍✨✨
I appreciate your honest and purity. We feel your gratitude and grateful for your content. Only been watching a few months but it’s relaxing and as long as you enjoy what you love we will love it with you. Just keep it up brother. Everyone’s dream being free!! lol
That’s pretty dope of you to mention Mav. I’m a fan of both of y’all. In another life, I’d definitely do what y’all both do! Hats off to you bro!!! Keep up the awesome work and great content!
That Korean bbque looks so good. I know where you are camping. If you keep going down the hill and around the corners there is a river and a ranch down there. If you keep going up the hill and along the flat area for a couple miles you will reach a parking lot and trailhead to some ruins. Thanks for your stuff. I love it.
Hi Ryan, glad to see you on the road again and cooking up a storm of a meal! Your personality is perfect for me when I get to view another adventure that you were on. It’s that few minutes of peace and giving away from my every day life. Always appreciate your shout out of thanks, but honestly I should be thanking you- just love how confident you are doing you. Getting me psyched up with planning my own road trip starting September! Can’t begin to tell you how much I’ve learned from you. 👍👏💕
Dude, that meal looks so good. I've copied several of the dinners you have made and they've all been great, I'm definitely making a Korean BBQ feast now!
Funny I actually chuckled when you said you couldn't believe anyone watched you since you don't really have a UA-cam personality, because I live in San Diego and you popped up in my feed one day a long time ago and I started watching you because you are so regular guy but a queeky kind of funny man. I always enjoy your observations and your travels, pretty much whatever you happen to be posting is interesting to me. I love your laid back, honest style. Glad you found success that enabled you to enjoy your van life 🤗🤗Tracey from San Diego, California
Ahhh always enjoy the videos. Always thought there was some “Mav” inspiration, but you’re right. U have turned this into your own style over the last 2 years or so. Enjoy both of u guys content
Watching your videos always helps me slow down and just take a breather from my busy life. I'm glad you get to do this on a daily basis and live a happy life. Keep the videos comin!
The reason I watch you is because you are real, you have an awesome voice and you explain everything really well. It's fun traveling along with you and seeing different parts of the country, and your cooking puts the icing on the cake. Thank you for sharing.
Dude no man you and your content is amazing man ! You have a non UA-cam personality and it’s awesome very relaxing and just cool man keep it up! Ive always had this hunger to travel the world and see all perspectives people have and personalities and food !
I just know Theodore Roosevelt 🧸 would have loved you. What you said at 13:37 reminded of his quote “There is nothing so American as out national parks, the country belongs to the people” I might have not been the poeple he had in mind but none the less 😅
The reason that I enjoy your videos is because of the non cringy and annoying UA-cam personality, it is not a personality to be proud of tbh! I stumbled upon your channel around a year ago, and since then every video you make is pure joy and fun! Hopefully in the future you can come for a visit here to Saudi Arabia and in the Middle East and North Africa in general, we would love to have you! Nothing but love and respect to you Ryan!
It couldn't be more perfect than this. beef bulgogi, pork bulgogi, seasoned cucumber, seasoned fish cake, seaweed, sesame oil sauce, ssamjang sauce... moreover, korean pears as seasoning... I show my respect... from s.korea...
Bro you properly prepared that Korean BBQ the OG way. I'm Korean and this got me craving it, been a while since I had it. The fish cake was a nice touch, it's actually one of my favorites too. And you were absolutely correct it's basically just chicken nuggets, except with fish. Thanks for all that you do, I love your contents. Can't wait to watch your updates on the mini camper.

One of my favorites parts when I get off at night is chillin with a beer and watching your new videos. You're as best as it gets man. Keep doin your thing brother ❤
Because of your show, I now cook bulgogi at least once every two weeks. Oh, and If you run out of brown sugar again you can make your own. Granulated Sugar aka regular sugar or white sugar You can substitute caster sugar, which has more finely ground crystals than granulated sugar. Substitute it in a 1:1 ratio. Molasses I recommend using mild or dark molasses. Blackstrap molasses has a slightly more robust flavor and may taste a bit too strong. You can substitute black treacle at a 1:1 ratio. Nah man we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. I never watched UA-cam. Until Mav I watch his videos and when I ran out for those I found you. These videos are little more of heart to heart and personal other than mavs got the big contacts and seems to be all ads now
Amazing video! The cinematography and narration pulled me in. Your adventurous spirit is inspirational. Your video reminds me of my camping content, though I stick to low-key hikes and simple nature getaways. I try to showcase the simple joys of the outdoors, like campfire cooking and stargazing. I prefer camping closer to home rather than extreme backcountry. Huge kudos on making such an engaging video that motivates people to get outside! It makes me want to try a bolder camping trip someday. Keep up the phenomenal work!
Ryan, magnets can lose their magnetism with excessive vibration over time. Magnets can also gain magnetism if they are aligned to magnetic north and south and vibrated. Driving east west a lot may have contributed to those magnets degrading. We did experiments about this in middle school (in the 70's 😅). I now have such a craving for Korean BBQ. That looks delicious!
Glad you shouted out the merch, don’t know how I missed any shouts before but got 2 hoodies on the way 🤙🏼 keep it up my guy, easily top 3 out of the 147 people i’m subbed to

Ryan you are simply amazing and a great inspiration...You're food is fire and keep doing what you're doing bro!! Excited to see how the Japanese camper van is coming along also!
As a Korean-American, I'm impressed you know about Korean pears and of course pork belly. Two favorites among people who know Korean food. I skipped through your marinade so I cannot comment as to its authenticity. Although this is a matter of personal preference, I think both good quality rib eye and pork belly are best cooked as is and dipped in a sesame oil + salt + pepper mixture. You won't regret it. Also, as a wrap (use the ssamjang when you do the wrap).
Hey Ryan, if you save the rice washing water, you can reuse it to rinse dishes later. It is good with oily dishes and helps with your limited water situation.
You may not have a flashy attitude but I think that is half the draw here. Your videos are an awesome way to kind of wind down and see a beautiful world at the end of my days! I also feel like Im learning a lot about traveling that may help me when Im on the road with my friends! tldr Love your content man

Yeah Ryan, in conjunction with what a lot of people are saying. Your personality is why I follow you!!! I like how real and NORMAL you are. I watch you and Trent mostly and I love both of your personalities, but I love how different your videos are! I've considered youtube, but (like you) I absolutely don't think I have the personality for it!!! but who knows what i'll do one day! Thanks for all the uploads. You keep doing what you’re doing brother. You bring joy to us everyday! Glad you’re able to do this full time. I just moved to Maryland! Love it here so far! Keep up the great content! Love the life story. Mav is the first person I started watching but you’re my favorite UA-camr to watch now!
Actually, you do have an awesome "UA-cam personality." You come across as easygoing, down to earth, friendly and modest. These are all awesome traits and I for one would have no problem sitting back and having a chat watching one of those sunsets before slinking of to my own secluded spot to chill the rest of the night. Keep being you. I also feel like Im learning a lot about traveling that may help me when Im on the road with my friends! tldr Love your content man
Ryan, just got to the end of the video, we love you dude this is why we watch your videos. We wish nothing but the best for you. So thanks for appreciating us for supporting you. Be safe brother.
This is so great, thanks for sharing how this all came about. I love Mav as well! You all inspire me so very much. Thank u!
Discovered your channel 4 months ago, your videos really helped me cure homesickness during living abroad (maybe because i liked the concept of a moving home). Keep up the great content o7
I respect you for documenting your fails. Much love brilliant channel!
and triumphs x
Yeah Ryan, in conjunction with what a lot of people are saying. Your personality is why I follow you!!! I like how real and NORMAL you are. I live the vanlife, in fact I have the exact same van as you (same color even) and i'm only 6 months in and have YET to start my adventures. just been parked at my job and trying to get to a point where I can financially take off and be on the road full time. I watch you and Trent mostly and I love both of your personalities, but I love how different your videos are! I've considered youtube, but (like you) I absolutely don't think I have the personality for it!!! but who knows what i'll do one day! Thanks for all the uploads. You provide me whith so many hours of quality videos!
You keep doing what you’re doing brother. You bring joy to us everyday! Glad you’re able to do this full time. I just moved to Maryland! Love it here so far! Keep up the great content! Love the life story. Mav is the first person I started watching but you’re my favorite UA-camr to watch now!
I agree even though I am a fellow Minnesotan. I prefer Ryan, Mav is greedy as all get out. His videos are great but he is money obsessed.
You bring the ability for people like me who cannot do the "van life" thing due to my own career choice and the fact I have to be considerate of my Partner's needs, do do this lifestyle vicariously. I love your channel.
