- All new from Shadow Systems is the DR920L Elite!!! If you were a Glock 34 fan, this is the pistol for you. If you like flat shooting, long slide model pistols then this is it. We got our hands on this early and loved every minute of it!
When I started shooting competition, I used a Glock 35 and then converted it to a Glock 34 in 9mm. The pistol shot well, was reliable and at the time, the only competition centered striker fired pistol out there.
This pistol has everything you need or would do to upgrade a Glock G34. Night sights, awesome slide serrations, multi optic optics cut, flat faced trigger, perfectly textured and formed grip with beavertail and a 5.5” barrel. The Shadow Systems DR920L Elite could be used for duty, home defense or competition.
For competition use, a compensator is nice but will put you in open class with super high end race guns. A long slide pistol like Shadow Systems DR920L will allow for production class, 3 gun Tac ops class or to be used in the tactical games. Flat shooting, easy handling and accurate, everything you would need! This new gun was a blast to review and now my favorite pistol from Shadow Systems.

Yeah don’t buy the dr920p. Straight garbage. Waiting for a gun buyback. I wouldn’t dare resell it and endanger someone’s life. Your cr920 however I had one fte at round 5 and never ever gave me an issue.

I sort of went the same route. I was originally looking at the Glock 34. But the DR920L has most of the upgrades I wanted. I did change out the trigger to the Peacemaker 3.0 from Tactical Pontoon. The Kagwerks slide Lock lever. ( The Shadow Systems one was cutting up my thumb) And gave the DPM Recoil reduction systems a try.. Waiting on the Gunfighters Ronin Babba Yaga holster from Gunfighters inc. I will keep the iron sights rather than get an optic as this thing rips. It's the most fun I've had shooting in some time.

@@jmg221 Not quite 200 rounds. A few failure to go into battery at the start. Maybe 4? Then it settled in.

Im currently enjoying the SIG 320 Legion Comp but I have quite a few new handguns put back for future testing and training to be potentially become EDC pistols and that is most often the goil with some exceptions such as .22 Target pistols but even those go on camping trips . Here lately I have purchased hunting rifles and a couple new shotguns , as 2024 started out with a new Winchester SX4 Upland Hunter in 20 gauge and the Mossberg Gold Black Label O/U in 20 as well so I have a lot to work with at the range and in the field and as the song goes I love them every one. Ill get a Shawdow at some point and the comp pistols are fun to shoot Stay warm up there we have storms coming in for the weekend on. 🇺🇸🤜🤛

I have been thinking about picking up a DR920 or DR920L for duty carry. My department issues Glock 17's but will allow us to use our own firearms after inspecting them. The biggest reason I have been considering this change is for magazine cross compatibility. The DR920 can run Glock factory mags and that is what almost everyone in my department carry.
I personally highly recommend them. We have had nothing but good luck with all of our shadow systems pistols and they all shoot great!

I have faithfully served the people of my home state in my official capacity for several years now. I do know MARCH and have employed it several times on victims of serious injury motor vehicle crashes, shootings and assaults.
You want to talk shock? I suppose you don’t want to know how many civilians I have seen go into shock just from being a witness or victim of a crash yet have no injuries. Yet I brought them back to reality and helped them go about their day and move one.

I may be in the minority on this but trying out a host of different handguns @ my local range….I didn’t like & didn’t shoot the Shadow well. I purchased the gun I shot and that felt the best….my G17 Gen 3! No offense intended for those who like the Shadow!
I loved the mr920 when I shot it but I definitely have more medium sized hands so I can see how people could prefer glock

Just ordered the L because I’m going to start competing in USPSA Carry Optics. They don’t allow mag wells or compensators so my DR920P is not allowed. Looking forward to shooting the L

@@HuntFishShootChannel I actually had the Canik Rival S, but just can’t shoot Canik’s well, even the steel frame, it’s baffling. However, my EDC is the XR920 with the Radian afterburner and ramjet setup. Love, love, love it. I install the Timney triggers on all my Shadow Systems pistols. I like the grip on them, very natural
That is a sweet set up and those timney triggers are legit!

If you were to run this in competition would you upgrade the trigger?
That’s possible and maybe to the timney, but not likely. These triggers break in so nicely the more you shoot them I have never wanted to change them.
I have DR920L MR920L considering CR920.

Definitely don't skip glock and go straight to shadow systems. I've owned 3, MR, DR and CR and none have been completely reliable. Shadow systems would not exist if not for Glock.

There isn’t a modern polymer striker fired handgun made in the last 30 years, that doesn’t owe it’s existence to Glock. The latter itself owes at least a part of its existence based on H&K’s innovations, (albeit not nearly as successful), with the P9S, and VP70 of the late 60’s, early 70’s.

Although that is true, it doesn’t mean run the same old design out for 30 years with next to no innovation. Regardless of how it still performs.
@HuntFishShootChannel glock came out with a performance trigger that I just bought btw. Suppose to break around 3lbs. If u want a Ford don't go to a chevy dealership. If u want a glock buy a glock. If owned maybe 5 glocks and never kept them longer than a month. Ive owned over 50 m&ps...this is the year of glock for me, especially with the surprise of the new trigger.

Can you run the Pure Tungsten guide rod that fits the Glock 17/34 ?? I have a 15lb spring with the Tungsten Guide rod for my Glock. I want to know if it will work the same?
I would believe you can. Unlike a standard Glock these have a 1 piece stainless steel guide rod.
I have 4 SS firearms but will never purchase another one. Their customer service is the worst in the industry..
That’s the opposite of our experience and many others we have talked to. But it happens of course!

Come on white guy you know you would put a heavier guide rod to make it recoil less and change the trigger
Cmon white guy? Besides the fact how someone chooses to configure the pistol is their choice. I would not change the trigger. I have 10 SS pistols and never have. It’s pointless
