This fix works for many vehicles
WHAT TO DO:
Put key into ignition
Turn key to on position
Wait until the security light stops flashing (it can take 10min)

i lost my keys months ago. got 1 made but with no keyless entry. so now i use key primarily. i turn key in door multiple times, then door opens. i hit unlock button once or twice. car cranks up every time
I’m try this my key keeps un programming it self. Hope this works thanks in advance.
happened to me after I misplaced my key and was using my spare.... found my key and it wouldn't start the car... tried your trick and sure enough it works fine now, cheers mate

My mechanic replaced a part not the starter though ($650), and problem was still there two weeks later😘😘

You saved my ass! I'm having to use an inverter on the truck to run heat inside my house because of all chances, it would be the totally wrong time to be without heat and electricity in the house. Now the the truck is running I can use the inverter and I have lights and heat in my house, awesome thank you so much!!! To add to that my next step was going to be to disconnect the battery to reboot the entire system which probably would have worked so if this particular fix doesn't occur for everyone you might try disconnecting the battery letting it sit for five or 10 minutes and then reconnect it and see if that doesn't help.

My 1999 Ford F-150 just did it today when I put a new dash cluster in and I tried this and the theft light wasn’t flashing anymore and went to start it and it stuttered then died and it went back to just cranking.
How long did you have to wait?

Thank you. This is the best solution to the security light flashing/no start. People have some very complicated other solutions which I'm sure work, but this is by far the easiest solution.

This just happened to me today lol on my 2001 Nissan Maxima....I disconnected my battery to replace my radiator fan, all went fine until I went to leave and would not start after trouble shooting a few things I found it was my security light and now I wait lol.....hope this works🤷

I am at end of my rope. My car not starting was the last straw. I don’t have $300 lying around to pay for two new keys to be cut on top of the $150 they want for diagnosing my vehicle problem, and the mechanic assured me there is nothing I can do to fix the anti theft strategy not recognizing my key. I disconnected the battery 🔋to clear the computer. Waited 10 minutes, reconnected it and was on my way again... now I know the real reason this has been happening.. thanks 😊

I'm about 99% sure there is no chip in that key. Most Hyundai's and Kia's don't have chips in the key.

@@HealingAmazing do you have a key fob for your truck? Does it work? If not there is a chance that the water shorted out the battery. Try replacing the battery on your key fob.

@@SantanaOutdoors813 it worked enough after drying to turn the power in in the truck and show the cluster of indicators and my lights ect. Just flashed the red car and lock and I noticed I never seen it before. Now I know why it has police traceable stickers all over it 🙄. I'll be ripping this out after I get my Ford Escape home tomorrow!!!
This happened to me when I had a key that had sat around for about 3 years. The fix works. My problem was I could start the van and it would not run unless I had my foot on the gas soon as I took my foot off the van would die. I turned it to on let it set about 15 minutes turned it off and then it started normally and ran normally

It as though when you bypass one problem the computer just shuts off the next component, why did the car companies do this bullshit to us? It's as if they put a time bomb in our vehicles and sold them to us just waiting for their huge profits to roll in from future parts and labor they must of known they would be able to charge because of their inferior programming and designs! I wish I'd been in on those board meetings when they were planning all this!
The security system basically starves the engine of fuel. Which Is why you hear that clunking sound right before it shuts it off, almost sounds like a muffled explosion right? That's the security system cutting off the engines access to the fuel, which interferes with the engines combustion (which is basically what makes the engine run (a bunch of tiny explosions.
My 2004 Chevy Malibu been having this issue so now I can see I can get my going car and thank you

DUDE. I spent the entire day on the phone with dealerships, locksmiths, mechanics ... ALL MANSPLAINING to me that I need to be towed to be diagnosed. I broke my remote and I locked my car doors. When I did it made my key unable to unlock the car door OR the ignition once I did get it. This video saved me time and money and stress and agony. Those of you with GM cars check the fuse box on the fender well. These boxes are notorious for coming loose. There are 3 screws in the middle of the box. Make sure they are tight. This box grounds to the body. If the box is loose it will intermittantly lose contact and can cause the security mode to initiate.

I hope to god this works. I went to the gas station and I come back and my car wont crank and the security light turned on. Had AAA tow my car to my house. Hey this happened to me on my lancer 2001, I have changed my lock barrels since it had two key to open doors and for ignition, I have install new immobiliser unit and lock barrel now vehicle cranks no ignition(even with old key and immobiliser) . Looking for some help ? will this works for me? I’ll have a look in the morning and update here.

My red security light blinks but when the key is in the on position it just stays solid!(No blinking) Tried this fix for 15 minutes and it didnt work. Disconnected the negative battery cables for 15 minutes and it didnt work ! Then disconnected them both for overnight and it still didnt work.

@@SantanaOutdoors813 It doesnt do anything And the flashers/security light goes off like crazy! Now my battery charger is saying the battery is dead and wont charge it but the battery is only two months old. Its a very expensive battery.

So I put in aftermarket radio and module etc but just now having this anti theft problem it won't run etc but here's another problem I don't have a key it just turns over without one so you think I need to order a ignition with key reprogram it then this issue won't happen again or do I need to cut a yellow wire . Please help me out

Everything works fine on my 2011 Buick Lecurne. But my security light doesn't flash. Is there a fuse for that? And the letters around the gear shifter doesn't light up. Do they supposed too?
I have an 07 Dodge Dakota with a 3.7 l engine. I just replaced the ignition switch. And now I can't get my truck to fire up and I have tried this trick and it's not working have any suggestions? The old key had the lock and unlock feature with the panic button I'm not certain if that has anything to do with it or not

So let me see if I get this right.I got a copy of my girls 2002 Honda Civic key but it won't stat the car at all and so all I got to do is follow these steps to have it working? Now what about the original copy do I need to reprogram it as well or it will be fine?

I have a 2002 Buick La Sabre.
(Was my inlaws-i just inherited) The Security light is on when car is running only. Does not blink. Could this be because the car came with Onstar, but the disconnected it years ago?
So I was told that I didn't have the chip in my original key, no spare key, and was told that I needed to have a new key cut and have it programmed to my car. It just cost a small fortune as the key I had cut at Lowe's would not crank the car either. Just had that done a few days ago and sometimes I feel like the car may not crank again and just yesterday I had problems moving the gear from Park to drive or to anything. That's starting to frighten me. Does that have anything to do with having the key programmed again. Thanks for such an awesome video, wish I had tried this before calling a locksmith out that research told me would be cheaper than Towing the car to the dealership.

If you have a key fob you can also lock then unlock door then turn ignition on.
Oh I also pulled off the fuse box and cleaned all the corrosion out of it and there was a ton of it! But no effect? Please help?

My 98 gmc sierra. Doesn’t start but when I put it in position to crank it the security light goes on then takes off after 4 sec. I unplugged the battery for the truck started and as I was driving the SECURITY LIGHT came back on (not flashing) turned off truck and won’t start.
My 99 cavalier won't crank at all , has power lights wipers everything works . I turn the key and it won't crank at all my security light stays solid tho ? It says "theft system" and is just on no flash . What you think?

I’m currently trying this right now on my 2005 Honda Accord EX coupe. Hopefully it works. The original key broke so I had to get a new one.
