Thank you so much for making this video. I have a 2000 Ford Explorer and I’ve been fighting this issue for years. Thanks for giving me hope that maybe finally I have a solution to this problem
The plastic ring is called transceiver and the chip inside the key is called transponder. An easy way to remember this, is transCEIVER is like reCEIVER, and it receives the signal from the key
I’ve been dealing with this problem on a 99 ranger 3.0 v6 for almost 3 years I’m so sick of not being able to just gett in my car and go. it will start up and drives. except when it sits for less than a week and then the random “theft light” rapidly starts blinking preventing from actually starting the car . Or idk if anyone has dealt with their ranger not able to start in the rain ??? Everytime it rains the rapid “theft light” comes on preventing me from starting the truck as well . Nothing is wet inside the engine btw I’ve looked before. I had the a new PATS key done at the Ford Dealer thinking the chip inside the Old Original key was just old and dead. but that didn’t work and still got the rapid blinking “theft light”. Please people we have to figure out these Ford Ranger Mystery’s as well !! I know I’m not the only one with ironic Ford Ranger problems.
@@mikemoreno7329so if the ECU & the Pats control Module isn’t matching parts numbers with the transceiver. The entire thing will have to be reprogrammed ?
Well sir, I am no mechanic but I'm pretty sharp with electronics and respectfully sir,you are incorrect. I have found 3 ways and not like the annoying ways I keep finding and i hate reruns so here we go 1- you can use a obd2 code reader, it doesn't tell you that it will clear anything other than your basic codes but if it connects to your computer it will clear your theft codes 2- if you try to connect and it doesn't recognize your cars computer. Go to the fuse box under your hood on the driver side and pull these relays, r4,r5,r6,and d2. You can by 1 new and by rotation you may find a bad one or leave them out for about 30 seconds and put them back in 3. Take battery cables off and SAFELY touch them together for 30 seconds. *** I've had to do this several times bc about once a month, it happened to me, and I've spent nothing but time researching and this worked for me.
If i pull the computer from a parts car that is the same year and model as mine do need to change the bcm out as well as the computer and anti theft module and transponder Ive changed the computer and the anti theft module and the transponder
Thanks. I just bought a 2001 explorer. It fires with starting fluid in the throttle body but the fuel pump does not work. I think I have an aftermarket alarm so I am going to bench test my fuel pump before replacing. Question. Does your Explorer anti theft system have a button to bypass the alarm? Mine has a push button that looks aftermarket wrapped around my hood release that I need to use to crank the engine over.
Yes, aftermarket has a button to where you can turn off but stock theft system has no bypass unless you change the engine control module width a aftermarket one

Yes, it would have to be reprogrammed if it’s not all matching out of the same vehicle

i bypassed PATS system!!! changed ignition and PCM ! without a anti theft box
What’s the pcm

Can't get anti theft to turn off.How did you do that, I have 97 F150, i think it doesn't have code key but does have anti theft.
Could you explain to me how?

It don't work if your fuses,or relays aren't bad ,I'm doing what he said ,but when I fix this stupid Ford engineering crap I'm going carborator
Just wish you had more light to show us right

@mikemoreno7329 thanks Mike, pulled the pump and after inspecting I replaced and the vehicle fired right up.
Thank you. I've been trying to a truck I got for parts and want to bring it back.
How do you know they are all matching when buying ?
Do you have to take all the parts out of the same truck with the key
En qué parte del carro se localiza el anti theft
why not just take out ECU fuse for the computer in the fuse box
If you take out ECU fuse engine won’t start
You can’t just pull fuses and disable things anymore.
