For my dear Father who listened to this in his last hours. Brian Horstmann-Snell-ex tenor with the Welsh National Opera 1962 - 1970. My father had a beautiful voice like Bocelli. My father would still try and sing and at 92 I could still hear his beautiful voice shining through. God bless you dad. You'll be singing in heaven I know. Miss you So much ❤
I listened to Opera for the first time from this Opera Song. This made me fall in love with the genre. People say in my country how they are juat shouting and crying but never try to hear or understand the expressions here.
As great as they are, my favorite version of this is by Nathan Gunn and William Burden. The purity of their voices and the emotion between them is unmatched. the absolute greatest baritone and tenor ever. pure and passionate. ❤❤❤
Goosebumps. For those who say there is no technique...clearly your heart was not moved. My heart soared with this beautiful rendition. Stunning. Thank you for sharing.
Ever since I was a child, this song (especially song by Jösse Björling and Robert Merrill) has been my most favorite classic song. After listening to it on youtube, this version popped up and I listened to it. I must say: I love it!!!
Terribly sad that even pav coulxdn't teach him to sing...what a chancer...he has an ability though; the ability to turn opera classics into tuneless rubbish.
Ever since I heard this duet sung at the Bocce Ball in North Beach of San Francisco in the 70's I have loved the harmony and passion of this gorgeous piece of music!!! Wonderful to hear it with Bocelli doing half of the honors. Thank you!!!
I only wish that my late father could have ever known about these two brilliant singers/performers. I was introduced to classical music from birth and have never forgotten my routes.
I am from The Netherlands. I was 13 or 14 years old (now 62) when I first heard this piece of music by Bizet (performers Marco Bakker and Charles Holland). As if I came into a fairytale forest, so beautiful. This really has to be one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever. Fantastic from start to finish. Here I also add the version of the artists I mentioned. Unfortunately there is no better recording of it, has not been released on CD as far as I know, but it is on LP. For me is the version of Marco and Charles the very best. But that's also because I'm a chauvinist. 😃😃
Tracey Gates Hello good evening to you Andrea bocelli and Bryn Terfel you are the best Singers in the World but this will be the best Song ever ❤ but this will be at the King Charles Coronation Concert in Windsor Castle 🏰. Iove from Wales UK 🏴 🇬🇧 🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴💻🌍🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🏴🏴🎁🎁😇😇
I jars to hear the voices augmented through the microphones. They are both wonderful singers so I’m sure it sounded a thousand times better live. The voices just don’t blend well in this recording. I have heard Bryn Terfel sing this live in a concert in Caernarfon Castle with Gwyn Hughes’s Jones. It sounded ethereal, so I’m sure that this live performance would have done too.
Lovely! They compliment each other beautifully in this rendition. While it's an excellent pairing, I can't help but prefer Dmitriy Hvorostovsky and Jonas Kaufman in their duet recorded in 2013.
My absolute favourite. My absolute favourite. Thank you 🙏 so much. 🙏 Thank you so much. I kiss your faces !! You are beautiful !! Very very beautiful ! I send very scornful commentaries and jibing gestures !! Yes I do !! Yes I do!!! ✨❤️✨
What an unpleasant combo: BT has got the slow wobble and AB has the goat vibrato! Are they trying to wreck Bizet's beautiful music with such passionless, robotic vocalising? Scheitenhausen!
I notice also other things: I thinks Bocelli rushes often and sings with tenderness but he can do better. ( imho , I am no professional singer so i could be wrong). You can't kill this music but still this these people are not at their best, I think too.
Nope, just listened it, it sounds very artificial. This one with BT and AB is better. I cannot imagine any better version than this. ua-cam.com/video/5PYt2HlBuyI/v-deo.html
that's because their pronunciation is not correct, it doesn't sound like a french person singing in french. I am french and I think that it's a wonderful language, and so is german too
Dmitry hvorovstovsky and jonas kaufman best ever in recital. Dimash no passion, bad French and too fast. Check out alfredo Krause, or Lawrence Brownlee at wheaton College better.
Ed Murray . Ed, play nice now. He is not awful; he has a pretty voice but he is just totally out of his league. This performance demonstrates the deficiencies of ‘popera’; it takes knowledge and training to understand and appreciate the nature of vocal performance, just as it is required to perform. Unfortunately there are just too many people out there lining up to pay money for this kind of revue entertainment ( look at the size of the audience and their enthusiasm). A cash grab too easy to pass up. And ultimately harmless. Perhaps such a performance may even prompt some to become more serious. Check out Andreas Scholl, ombré mai fu and glimpse heaven.
@@davidbrown1566 Hi David, thanks for your reply. You are correct, he is not awful, just out of his league. I was being a bit unkind, but it is always frustrating for me to see performers like him elevated to the status of iconic opera stars....they suck the light from so many other superior voices. All the best.

One of my dad's favourites. I still cry when I hear this duet. I lost him 40 years ago, when I was still so young.😢❤

One of my Dad's favourites too 💜thinking of him this evening
if there is a heaven and I get to see my father this is what we will sing together again.
There is a heaven Gwyn ...and you will see and sing with your father again!
@@richardgallo9439 Amen. Believe
Wish you that!
If there were ever two voices made for this duet, it is these two voices
I love that Bryn hold's back on his full power
Quite right,,, one of the most powerful Bass-baritones that ever lived,,, being nice,,, so a passable bari-tenor can look good.
@@jlo2816 yeah, ensemble-ship
Absolutely beautiful, I listened to this with my late father before he passed. Something so special I will always treasure. Xx
Sorry to hear about your father and good for you that this song is important and special to you
I listened to Opera for the first time from this Opera Song. This made me fall in love with the genre. People say in my country how they are juat shouting and crying but never try to hear or understand the expressions here.
That moment at 5:33 where Bocelli reached out for Terfel's shoulder so that he could feel him breathe to synchronize the song - wow.
The hand on the shoulder and often a handshake is the way the duet ends. (your comment was nice)
What a beautiful blend and a moment in MY life I will NOT forget.❤
As great as they are, my favorite version of this is by Nathan Gunn and William Burden. The purity of their voices and the emotion between them is unmatched. the absolute greatest baritone and tenor ever. pure and passionate. ❤❤❤

This is both SO beautifully dramatic brilliantly written! With these 2 power houses in gorgeous harmony. Lord Jesus Christ loves this music 💕💓💆🏻♀️
Wow! Was he in the audience?
Bryan Terfel has a very good voice. I very much respect him. ✨Michael✨Amores✨

Someone else who remembers Bjorling.
@@annierosebud Me too, Carol. Magnificent. More impassioned than the Pavarotti and Ghiaurov version.
We indeed have a lot to thank Master Bizet for.
I totally agree about Jösse Björling and Robert Merrill! but these two are fabulous too.
Try the Kraus-McDaniel version on UA-cam
Me 2 my late father’s all time favourite!😊Jussi rocks!
I love this duet. Great version by Bryn and Andrea.
You will never beat Merill and Yussi Bjorling the finest duet ever
Edmond Clement and Marcel Journet
This always makes me think of my Dad, long gone now but one of his favourites.
This is so beautiful I can't stop listening ❣️❣️ Love Bocelli ❣️
Love this song can't stop listening to it myself they make good duet
Terribly sad that even pav coulxdn't teach him to sing...what a chancer...he has an ability though; the ability to turn opera classics into tuneless rubbish.
Well done Bryn, class.
Not the sort of music that I listen to but that's spine tingling, those two are absolutely awesome
Both voices are so beautifully matched equally powerful excellent🎉🎉🎉
Ever since I heard this duet sung at the Bocce Ball in North Beach of San Francisco in the 70's I have loved the harmony and passion of this gorgeous piece of music!!! Wonderful to hear it with Bocelli doing half of the honors. Thank you!!!

Um dueto comovente!
Prachtig om naar dit stuk luisteren het is door diverse artiesten al gezongen maar Andrea Bocelli luister ik iedere keer weer met veel plezier naar.
Bravissimo❤
Took the words right out of my mouth!
My favourite classical piece by my favourite singers!
I was about to applaud in the end, but understood I am not there)😀
Andrea has a phenomenal operatic voice.
Fantastic amazing. The best
Bravissimo!
Will be beautiful forever.
Qu'est-ce que c'est beau 🙏🌈💫❤🤗
I don’t have a clue what they are singing about... nor do I care, but it’s incredibly beautiful to listen to
Magnifique ❤❤❤❤

Kaufmann and Khvorostovsky nailes this aria the best.
Sir Bryn Terfel Jones! LEGEND!

Wow !!! 👏👏👏

Bryn Terfel is in a class of his own.
Agree that Terfel is incredible but is he really a whole class above hvorostovsky?

Poor Terfel, hopefully he got well paid
