I was there at the Vrijthof Maastricht July 2019 only 3 months after the fire. It was a most moving performance.

Disney's version of a delicate duet sung by 1 tenor and 1 baritone about friendship and a Woman that came between them and how they will never let that happen again. It can be performed by a small orchestra which brings out the beauty of the work by Bizet.
This stunning performance would make Walt proud. The violinists dressed like Cinderealla, 12 singers (assuming 6 tenors and 6 baritones) a rearrangement by John Williams and a cameraman able to find the most handsome Men in a crowd of thousands.
5 stars. Simply gorgeous.
Great comment. Rieu's version has nothing to do with Bizet's original duet. It works though as what it is. A Disney piece, as you cleverly pointed out.
People show love through laughter and tears. Loyal Love; God is Love.

One of my very favorite songs. T first i can even remember as a little girl hearing on our radio back in the 50'es. Can still bring tears to my eyes!
I'm 73 and have a similar memory, Inge. My Dad bought a TV/Radio with a Phonograph drawer. Money was tight but he managed to purchase the odd 78rpm record and one had this duet. I don't recall the singers but the melody and tight harmony captured me. YT coughed up this video a few days ago and I've been listening to it a bit too much. Bizet reaching out to us thru time.😃🎵🎶

We got to see the magnificent Notre-Dame in October of 2018. The following year was when it sadly caught fire. What a deeply touching and moving tribute to such a historically renowned and much loved cathedral in France , if not the world. thankyou so much André Rieu & your incredible Johann Strauss Orchestra!!!
this is not the notre dame they show, it is the saint-servais church that was partly burned a couple of years ago😢
