    The secret to making creamy hummus is to remove the outer husk of the hummus and add a few ice cubes when blending. I serve it with toasted Naan and a side of veggies for a healthy vegan lunch. Hummus is also a great appetizer or healthy snack.

    If you soak the peas in water and swish them around ... the skins float to the top then you can scoop them out!

    For super smooth hummus you want to boil your own chickpeas. Canned chickpeas are not soft enough. Also add more tahini and only add olive on top at the end as a dressing.

      Yes!❤👍 And while cooking your own chick peas, season with bay leaf, cumin, garlic and salt! Oh my goodness! So much better than canned (which are ok in a pinch). 😁

    1 Can of chickpeas
    2 tablespoons tahini
    1 squeezed lemon
    1/2 teaspoon salt, cumin, garlic powder
    1/4 cup olive oil
    2 cubes of Ice
    * but I used sunflower oil

    Instead of a microwave, you can drop a whole lemon in a cup of hot water for 30 seconds to soften it up.

    You can also boil your chickpeas with baking soda for 15-20 minutes, then you don't have to husk them! Also, adding confit garlic and lemon zest are a game changer

    The removal of the skin isn't necessary and I imagine would turn off a lot of people, not to mention the skin likely contains some good nutrients. You could just boil the beans for 10 minutes to soften them. Also, I'd omit the cumin and use fresh garlic.

    Easy PEASY … rinse can contents under cold water .. drain then dump chick peas on some paper towel… place paper towel on top … start making a moving motion and the skin falls off in seconds .
