Lasers, missiles, and ballistics are not what you want. Proton beams are the way to go - the range on those things can engage other ships before they are even close enough to get a shot off. The Frontier can be improved by lightening it up with the removal of unnecessary weight (you don't need the two front landing gear, for example) and focusing on just the needed systems. The real problem with the Frontier is the engines, and Bethesda doesn't do a good job of explaining how their ship mechanics work. Fewer engine bars means the engines are more efficient - less power input required to achieve maximum thrust. What would be nice is if the game would allow you to keep an inventory of parts you strip from stolen ships, and use those as you see fit on other builds.
I thought about going with proton beams but I wasn’t trying to get too crazy with this build and this is how I currently have it set up. I have proton beams on one of my other ships and it works just like you said. I can’t just take the front landing gear off… then it’ll look like crap, like a incomplete Lego set or something. I suppose if literally all you care about is efficiency then sure, but I couldn’t bear to look at it in that state with no front landing gear. As far as there the engines are concerned, a lot of people, including myself, still don’t fully understand the best way to upgrade those. I just figure I add more weight, then I need more thrust. It’s a new game and we’re still getting to know it, eventually we will figure it out.
Yes, deffinitely. 4+4 proton turrets + 4 manual proton cannons in case AI goes vegetable and youll tear trough anything. Though you do need to rebuild the Frontier a "bit". Or get a new starship, which would probably be cheaper and easier, but it wouldnt be Frontier.
For an early game upgrade just strip the weapons, Change the guns to either 4 or 6 particle beams And 2 suppressors. Makes the ship way puncher and the suppressors make piracy easy.
YES! Let us transfer parts between ships! Right out the gate at the Return to Vectera mission, I managed to capture one of the lv. 14 Va'ruun ships, with better weapons and a 20 power reactor. But barely any cargo space, less range, and weak engines. I've also captured a number of Spacer fighters with Design III level engines. I ended up rebuilding the captured HV ship around that better reactor, but I'd much rather have ripped out the guns and reactor and stuck them on the Frontier.
@@windwalker5765 Transferring parts between ships would be sick. That’d solve a lot of problems. But I suppose it’s like removing legendary effects from guns and putting them on another one, it can’t just be that easy 😆.
Use the Varuum Hymn or Stroud-Eckland Gallileo as a starting point. They have the SA-4110 Engine which combined with engines like those on the Frontier, you can get a around 900lb of cargo on your ship. Once you get to Starship design level 2, you can put 6 SA-4110 Engine on to the ship. The ship maintains its streamline shape but loses dead space between the wings over time becoming more like the Millenium Falcon. I trash the 2 gigantic fuel tank wings and replace that space with all the 2x1 modules that they make. I also tore off the top of the left wing and put a Hope Tech front docking port there. I tore off the awesome looking braking thruster under the nose and used a Taiyo front loading bay under the bridge instead and moved the left over landing leg to where the old side bay was. Finally I slapped in a 2x2 battlestations bay, 3x1 engineering bay and 2 giant Galleon side cargo pods. This thing carries something like 2000lbs, 150 top speed, max mobility/maneuverability, 520 shields, every 2x1 hab that stroud eckland makes. 23 output reactor, 27thrust grav drive. Jumps 25ly at a time. Has 4 auto particle beams, 4 autocannons & 4 ATLATL missile launchers. All this and it is still all CLASS A parts, maintained original length, width and height. Looks like a flying pancake with wings and guns all over.
I have upgrade my Frontier piece by piece as I advanced through the game to my current level 45 to the point I can put C level equipment. It has triple laser and double cannons, 39 reactor and 2265 cargo while being 100 mobility and 28 LY jump. It looks messy but is an amazingly functional ship.
Love the way Frontier looks. Love the way Razorleaf and Star Eagle look. Ideally what upgrades I do, I don't want to change them into something else. I'll do that with Spacer ships and when it's time to build my own from scratch. Love this upgrade.
Yeah, my "from scratch" ship was an Ecliptic Stiletto that I turned into an awesome, roomy gunship in tribute to my recently passed father. For the unique ships, I usually upgrade only weapons, shields, reactor, grav drive, engines, and cargo while leaving the appearance intact.
Don't forget to spin and boost. You can easily evade 30-40% of shots just by using yaw/pitch. Boost instantly makes enemies lose missile lock on but it's also good for reposititioning
Bottomline... The ship can be completely upgraded any way you want. Of course it starts out as crap but when you get enough money, you can upgrade it any way you want.
It can be upgraded, just not sold. I’m not sure what is the piece that’s prevents it from being sold. But at that point you’re dissembling the ship to pieces or rebuild upgrading it to whatever you want anyway. I keep the essence of it around for sentimental reasons. Trying to keep my ship slots from being at 10 is a daily struggle.
B Class and up definitely adds gives the advantage. A Class is rather limited even maxed out in jump distance but you can double the cargo if you sacrifice a bit of JD and mobility.
Yeah it’s a bit of a balancing act. I’ve found that I may as well just give all my ships a B class reactor, because sooner or later I’m going to be up installing other B class parts 😆.
I used and gradually modified the Frontier until I was about lvl 25, I just tacked some roman numerals on the end of its name each time I tweaked it (It looks pretty much the same, just longer, with two levels and a different colour). I eventually replaced it with the Razorleaf after I'd rebuilt it from the ground up in the background. I will say I have found particle weapons to be far more effective though, especially since doing the Vanguard questline and gaining access to the really good ones.
For the most part I just had an extra hab between the original and the cockpit, with one set of landing gear moved forward. I also had a pair of smaller engines sticking out the side on bracers (kind of like Serenity from Firefly, lol), it got more complicated later on@@HalfwayNuts
I did the upgrade with just 4 pieces, and it worked fine. Take off all the weapons and put 4 particle beams on, and job done. Much better, and actually affordable for people who just got the ship, cause they ain't gonna have B or C class crap. By the time you get a B class, you are NOT using the Frontier
I’ve had B class unlocked for a while and I use the Frontier with these specs all the time 😁. Of course you could use cheaper parts. This video is a late game answer to the Frontier for those who still choose to use it.
Obamacare, that was what Trump said he'd repeal and replace. Should have left it at repeal, I don't need government managing my health care. Nice job on the Frontier as well, I like keeping it around since it is part of the original cast of characters so to speak.
Great vid. I agree with most of what you said here. I think the ship building is the best part about this game. So the first time i I modified the frontier, I tricked it out fully. Class c and rank 4 everything. It was like a finally form, ultra instinct goku type frontier. But I kinda missed how it looked before. So I modified it again to make it look like the original. It's to bad that the ship can only be modified up to a class B without changing how it looks. I wish there were class C type versions of the white dwarf 2030 and 1020 engines, grave drives and reactors. It's a little annoying not having all parts available at every technician site. Hopefully the modding community can fix these issues, if not BGS themselves. Oh and quick tip for those how may not know, enemy ship constantly respwan in the Serpentis system. Northeast of Kryx. Just ubove the Nirah system. Just jump around to each planet and moon and in most cases, enemy ships respwan. They're mostly Va'ruun but depending on how far you get in the main quest, starborn ships can spawn as well. Great spot for xp, credits and crafting resources.
What a point to show how to upgrade beginning ship on lvl 45. Its better to show how to upgrade this ship in the beginning of the game. P.S.: the unique frontier hab is just nowa galactic 2x1 all in one hub with some barret personal touches
The whole focus of the video was later game upgrades. Early game upgrades aren’t a bad idea though, I have game saves back from when I was at level 17 or something. Thanks for the idea. Yeah I know the hab is just a couple stickers and a broken helmet, but it’s still unique and it hate to get rid it and wish I hadn’t later on down the road.
I'm still flying the Frontier - but heavily, and repeatedly, modified -- though still a class 'A' ship. Nothing like unlocking a class 'A' reactor with 33 power to let you crank up the engines, shields, jump drive, weapons and cargo :D (Never thought to swap out the cockpit though). For a while I had it stretched with another 2x1 hab with workbenches; even more cargo, and a 3rd set of landing gear for the weight. But ended up ripping all that back out.
I would like them to fix the cargo! When you make another ship your home ship the cargo will transfer. So if you have 15.000 cargo on one ship and make a ship your home ship that has 500 cargo it will transfer and you will have 15000 on your 500 cargo ship. And it will not account against you. Nice job man!
Personally, I would drop the hopetech bumper and replace it with some shielded storage from Red Mile. You'd maintain a similar look but have slightly more utility.
That would be cool I agree, but in this play through, I hadn’t yet discovered the Red Mile, and I didn’t want to go there just for this build so I made it work with what I had access to.
I did something similar with the Discovery, which turns out is the Frontier's sister ship. The only reason I did this was to keep the Frontier original. Aesthetically, you can upgrade many things on it to have full power on pretty much everything except engines and missile launcher. Considering both primary and secondary guns were set up as three guns I had re-positioned my missile launcher (have two) in order to appeal to it's overall space allocation and increased it's efficiency. Hilarity is on the Discovery while my engines and mobility were only moderate, after I was done I no longer had any guns. I have Delete Buttons.
Discovery is the class of the ship 🤦🏽♂️. The Frontier is a Discovery class as well. Heller comments on how the Frontier is an old Discovery class when Barret touches down in the opening mission.
Tip : To get a color you like from one part of the ship , select the part hit paint then change it one click and then back, accept it. Now that color will be in your recent colors cue, now use that color for your new part.
I appreciate the tip. Unfortunately that haven’t worked for me for the frontier. If I try to change the color like that, it turns everything whitish red. I’m not sure if it’s a bug or just something with my through but it’s a thing.
@@HalfwayNuts hover over the part you want to paint and do what I said, you don’t have to click the part it will glow on its own.Are you on Xbox or pc?
@@themonkysuncle I’m on Xbox. It happens with Stroud parts too, every part that’s a default color. I’ll hover over it and when it goes to the color pallet, it shows a different color than what part is actually painted, and if I move any of the notches, it turns the part red because that’s what all the notches are set to is a pastel red color for some reason, I’m not sure why. Idk maybe I’ll do a video on it to show people.
@HalfwayNuts Wasn't till the end you actually hit the nail on the head... That ship is Constellation's. Remember, they say up front it's part of the perks like the Bedroom and Vasco, and you're getting to use it. Thus, if you're true to the spirit of the story, and chsracter you have built, the 1 constant is that ship. Thus, as the caretaker of another's property and that the Constellation members are our supporters as well as 1st crew it says as Class A Its great to beef it up to Class B but (IMO) THAT'S AN ERROR. Before the internet flames from hell start burning the hair left on this old gamer body ... I'll explain, especially as it's my style of rollplay, and yours is just as valid. The one I've been using in all 8 of my run-throughs even in the fleet to the last mission decision to go to Unity through the tunnel is still Class A, just upgrades all the way through as the funding procurement was realized. 1st one was at level 8 to 16 when i 1st get to The Lodge. (Yea gotten better as i did more playthroughs) The ship early on only needs to dump the weapons and get 2 of the best DPS beam wreapons you can, as they do both shield and Hull damage and by going to them you can hold off on the reactor as reallh its the grav drive that when you need more trigers the need fir more powerfull additiknsl PB as 2nd thing needed is the EM. SO WHY?? Simple, only other pilot in Constellations members us Barrett, and he can't fly Class B, best we know from his own comnents. Thus, our character is the Cheif Pilot andxas such gets snc deserves the best. The class B when Im we need it for the mission is either of the next 2 ships we can get. Yes the mission ship that the Mantis owned but as the pirates tend to avoid it, it's now a well defended crew of 8 plus 2 passengers with 2000 cargo capacity, ample for all the needs. And the real fighters of the fleet, the Freestar Rangers were so graciously kind to give as a retirement gift. As it, in rebuild mode , has crew of 4, it's was / is useful when the Constellation (or the faction) need calles for heavier force than the Frontier can provide. Then the rest of the fleet is Built up upon the Deluxe Stroude ship re shaped so its Class C is more like a class D and punches like s great fighter, but always being a welterweight taking on a heavyweight and hmgettingva ko in the 1st min of the first round. Pluxxa host of xhips tgsg have parts fir other builds.. Why scrap them when your going to rebuild anyway. Guess it's the buzz an YT that's driving the rush to get vids out before the wisdom of knowledge has set in. Nice to see the Frontier as it looks but really can be better. My level A Frontier's can at the character's level 60 do all Serpentos and come home fine. That's possible if you build well. Last note, EVERY ship in the fleet mobility us over 90 and all the fighter/defender class are lv96 to the Frontier is 100 with 150 then 180 speed and cargo is 600. And yea, occasionally every one of the crew each are at max load especially as you can have 4 crew on her and a passenger that gets full pockets too. (Do the Eclipse clubhouse cleanup abd loot trove to understand thst kast part and why the need for a cargo carrier after the Frontier flew off)😢
I modded my Frontier to the enth degree... It is a monster now... Used it to lvl 30 and blew everything to piece, including a legendary battleship. After that I had enough money to build a custom Class C ship out of a ship I "acquired". My frontier however, could still keep up with it. Got a Class B reactor and shields, 3 class A engines ( That make it scream across space ), 3 UC Proton beams, with 2 class B missiles, 1000+ cargo and enough fuel to travel all over. 100 mobility, 150 speed... nothing can keep up or keep me in front of them. Once I get some better reactors, gonna upgrade the weapons a bit more too and make it my hunting ship. The Class C is there for crew, cargo space and exploring, Although it ain't a joke in combat either with 8 turrets and 2 missiles. xD
Guys don't do this, you won't need a new starship up until "Revelation" or "A Legacy's End", Instead, Get to mission "All That Money Can Buy" and complete it. Talk to Walter Stroud back at the Lodge and choose the dialogue option asking if he has a job for you, In the misison "Overdesigned" Choose the smaller design and when you get the ship, Slap on a new shield generator, Disruptor 3310, 3320s or 3330s, a few PBO 175s and an EM Suppresser like the Fulminator-8000/EMP-Supressor 500-1000, or slap on a really powerful missile launcher, and then, (Starship Design 4 required i think) and get a reactor that has 35-38 power, it's still 100,000 credits like his but 10x better, OR go to Nova Galactic Staryard, kill all the spaces and one of them will drop a secret outpost slate where when you kill all the spacers you have to spell the word "Tyrannis" on the wall, click the button to open the door and proceed where the game gives you brand new armor and the "Razorleaf" ship which is good enough for the entire game if your good at space combat and have skill points in space combat, if you get this please remember to upgrade the reactor and replace the weapons with proton beams, they absolutely slap.
Honestly, the Mustang is essentially an upgraded version of the Frontier as it is. I know it really isn't, but if you look at the design of each, it's like the Mustang (Mustang II at least, the only one I've seen so far of them) is based on the Frontier, but with an upgrade.
i upgrade it almost immediately, i start with a better reactor, then i get a 4 crew cockpit, then better engines and add cargo, my frontier now is all new parts, i don't think one part is original so you just upgrade it, i also add a particle beams weapons, and delete the missles and lasers it comes with..so its fine to start with actually i use the starborn ship at the very beginning just so i can reach a few longer distance spots like the vultures roost and mantis lair, in order to make some early credits then as soon as i have credits i upgrade the frontier since the startborn ships are kinda bland.
Remade my Frontier but made it one hub longer & one hub higher (2.6k Cargo + more engine). But stopped using it after taking over and rebuilt a Galileo from VaRuun-something with a hollowed center from top/down/under. With 3x3 weapons (Auto cannon, Lasers, EMP) it has such a great punch nothing, within reasonable limits, seem to outlast it; 2xLVL40's only lasted for about 20secs. And it's still A-class...😊😎👍
The Galileo ships are pretty cool looking. Sounds like you created an unstoppable force 😆. I’d like to find something to do with the large Nova bridge, but it doesn’t go with anything.
@@HalfwayNuts Can't wait to get home, then getting to do some changes to my Galileo. Thoughts of using that big 2-storied cockpit with 3x3 battlestations right behind it and living quarters down below. I'll see what I'll end up with... 😎👍
I never even used this ship, I used it for the one trip to the first dungeon... Then from there you can go up the hill where the spacers land and on the next hill is an Ecliptic Stiletto. Which I stole and used as my ship until I got the star eagle.
Yep I did the same after but then used that stolen one to finance the Upgrades. And as a lure. NPCs are not too bright they go on their mission and as long as you leave them alone the ship they came in stays put. So use the lure to hide in then pop out and into theirs, and when you fly off both do so there now stuck. At least untill you come back and take them all out
I wouldn't have gone with laser weapons. For whatever reason their range is crap. Particle beams are the way to go. You can start damaging ships from nearly 4,000m out with those versus only a quarter of that distance with lasers or ballistic weapons.
This is true. I knew that going into this build. I already have a ship that’s decked out with particle beam weapons. I mostly want to show what happens when you upgrade parts to their logical conclusion. I may do another video in the future with the feedback I got so far. We’ll see.
Upgrading the Frontier is cheaper than buying a new ship. Edit: I was expecting early game upgrades. Going Class B definitely jumped the price point up.
You're on point. I can see Barrett In his ½ sarcastic way asking "Dang man, now what am I going to fly, I'm too old and beat up to go back to flight school for a Class B license. Well, I guess youngster, your bound to have to fly me everywhere from now on. But I do wonder, who is going to rescue us?"
I just did it over, it's now a c class, built the way I wanted it, it's a beast with the best of everything including six engines. I spent so many credits, but it's now my favorite ship, has 8 crew now. You know what's funny, the NPC's at the space ports still see it as the original ship and make comments like they're surprised it made it on another trip, they also tell me that ship has seen better days 😄.
I wish there were a “beehive” missile launcher. Fire once, launch like 9 that rockets. Also pop the missile on the front middle and add a second ballistic to where the launcher is now. Would just look better aesthetically.
Soo.. you took early game ship, wasted 100k credits on it, so it would perform just a bit better? Alternatively you could've just doing story missions to get a better ship and then use 100k credits to upgrade it's guns. You didn't fixed frontier, you just wasted money on it. Besides.. 100k credits early game, plus level 3 pilot is not an easy task to complete. Not until you learn how game works or if you are playing NG+
Its not a waste of money to me 😁. I’m pretty happy with it and I’ve been rocking this ship in my game for a while. No, it’s not that hard to get rank three of piloting or get $100k credits just playing the game normally. I’m at level 45 and I haven’t even discovered Akila City Or Neon for the first time. Leveling up isn’t that hard and doesn’t take that long.
Frontier Ship - you have a Ship slot and a Ship at the begining of the game - what i did is play and get the credits needed and then made a Frontier XXX LEGENDERY DREADNOUGHT on the same slot - will never sell that ship 😮😮. I make a Lot of ships for starfield players. Free use desings.. have fun. - you may add some to your own ships collection - like the GoldStar and GoldStorm Ship - GoldSpear is my latest creation 😮.
Out of the box it just needs more power. It doesn't have enough power to run the engines, shields, and weapons it already has at the same time. I'd say the first upgrade to make would be a better reactor and after that it's not a bad little ship.
I did almost everything you did on the frontier except I put on the 2 disrupter 3320 and 2 pbo-175 auto helion beam and the same missile launchers but did change the cockpit hope tech kinda looks like a bug unfortunately I changed it to the captain's hab I didn't know it was rare anyway I just got the vanguard weapons and shield I'm probably going to put those on, it's one of my favorite little fighter change the name to frontier II
Not just rare but 1 of a kind. And with secret perks, it's allowing 4 crew plus 2 passengers. Yep, those are good weapons for the Frontier or any ship once you have access.
The Frontier, a Nova Galactic Discovery class vessel, a classic older than the moon, has served Constellation well as an exploration ship with her unique all in one module with the research lab for forty three years. With upgrades to her weapons, reactor, grav drive, shield, and engines, she will take you to the end game as long as you don't add anymore MASS, cargo storage to her. She is not a garbage scow, sell your loot, not hoard your loot on the Frontier. There is UNLIMITED storage at the lodge, as well as all of the crafting stations. If the lodge isn't convenient enough for you which is only a few clicks and seconds away, built an outpost with all of the storage you desire. Furthermore with her research lab she can build on any solid ground all of the crafting stations nearby... SELL your loot ASAP, not pack rat it on the Frontier! Do you store all of your stuff in your car?
Do the crafting stations in constellation draw from personal inventory or stored inventory in you room? Cause if it pulls from room, yeah, I’ll do this.
@@vampirelordx1they pull from the little storage box on the table in the basement of the lodge..you can put everything in there and all crafting stations will pull from it.
That hab isn't unique, you can get nova parts from new homestead in the sol system. The only things that make that hab different is hand-placed objects like his slates and broken helmet.
Not true. The stickers on the wall next to the bed are unique. The replacement hab doesn’t have that. So yes, it is unique 😁. I like the large bridge that New Homestead has, but I haven’t found a ship I want to put it on yet.

Seems kind of weird that people feel the need to point out the starter ship isn't that great. Starting gear is just meant to be a stepping stone to getting better stuff.
The reason the ships aren't fighting back is because their weaons are forward facing and you boosted the crap out of an A class. I fly circles around enemies in a C Class with 20 to 40 mobility. There is no chance in hell an NPC B or C class is going to be able to shake you off it's six. If you want a challenge, build a mobility C Class Brick with only EM weapons (4 manual 4 Turrets) and play bumper cars, dodgems and boarding actions. A word of warning. Building a ramming ship can be too good. Huge mass, hull and shields can plough right through small ships.
RAMMING SPEED!!! 😂😂😂 Tried this with the razor leaf.......followed a tutorial to a tee........had error messages and my Xbox wouldn't let me assign weapon groups so I slapped two scan jammers on it and gave up! 😂😂😂 65% chance to evade scans so I just load a quicksave if I get caught lol
Yeah slamming into the ship was funny 😂. These videos are mostly to give people ideas. I tried to make a Freestar collective ship and it wouldn’t let me have more than two particle beam weapons… wtf?!
I dont think I have something left of my ftontier, the best frame to do waterver you what, now my ship called frogger, has 8000 cargo hold and its a Class C.worth any peny invest to have a best ship you made yourself
Weird you framed this as a superior solution to getting a better ship outright. You can steal or earn via quest rewards better ships MUCH sooner than this build given the skill point investment needed to make it a Class B. Still using or caring about the Frontier at level fortysomething makes no sense at all.
@@HalfwayNuts My point is, ships are just collections of parts. There's no difference between a heavily modified Frontier and the same ship with better parts to begin with and this build can only work fairly deep into the game. You came in the the "kiss my ass" stuff. You'd be better off modifying the Razorleaf. You'd get it MUCH much sooner and it'll retain the "Pirate scaring" passive ability even if you replace literally every part.
@@HuginMunin You’re not wrong. I just have enough money coming in and enough money to burn that this is what I chose to do with it. Every ship build scenario has alternatives, no doubt about it.

Yeah apart from it just being a small
Ship with low cargo, there’s really nothing wrong with it and it can last well into the late game.
Love the way Frontier looks. Love the way Razorleaf and Star Eagle look. Ideally what upgrades I do, I don't want to change them into something else. I'll do that with Spacer ships and when it's time to build my own from scratch. Love this upgrade.
I do pretty much the same thing. I just turned Spacer Scarab into a neat little UC Vanguard ship. More to come on that one ☝🏻.
@@rickbislich4075 Sorry for your loss. Part of me wishes there were tiered legendary starship parts. Kinda like the spacesuits and weapons.
Pretty much… Yeah…
I think you outgrow it by level 20. After that, it needs some TLC.
@@ardentdfender4116 the hab is unique, but it's more the fact that the Frontier's not your ship but constellations that prevents sale
I liked the Frontier. It is the most charming one. The other ships are so industrial
I’ve noticed the same. A lot of ships just look like space ship Legos.
Agree so much
B Class and up definitely adds gives the advantage.
Sounds like you got a lot of use out of the Frontier. I’m trying to make it bigger without making it look weird. So far not luck 😆.
For the most part I just had an extra hab between the original and the cockpit, with one set of landing gear moved forward. I also had a pair of smaller engines sticking out the side on bracers (kind of like Serenity from Firefly, lol), it got more complicated later on@@HalfwayNuts
I'll keep the 100 grand to buy another ship. Ty for the video!
Can’t say I blame you. There are certainly cheaper ways to keep the Frontier relevant later in the game. Take care now!
Totally agreed, well said
Obamacare, that was what Trump said he'd repeal and replace. Should have left it at repeal, I don't need government managing my health care.
Nice job on the Frontier as well, I like keeping it around since it is part of the original cast of characters so to speak.
Oh yeah I remember now 😆. I’d have to agree with you on that one. Take care now!
I added a few more habs, a stronger reactor, different landing gear, diff weapons. Cool, paintjob. A slimdocker, and better shield
I tried to board a Discovery but thing blew up on me before could board it
Discovery is the class of the ship 🤦🏽♂️.
Thus, as the caretaker of another's property and that the Constellation members are our supporters as well as 1st crew it says as Class A
Its great to beef it up to Class B but (IMO) THAT'S AN ERROR.
(Do the Eclipse clubhouse cleanup abd loot trove to understand thst kast part and why the need for a cargo carrier after the Frontier flew off)😢
I’m currently using the Kepler R and it’s currently my best ship
I don’t think I’ve unlocked that one yet. I’m sure it’s pretty cool though 👍🏻.
I just beefed it up. Eventually got the Razorleaf but my Frontier 2.0 is still my preferred ship. 😄
i upgrade it almost immediately, i start with a better reactor, then i get a 4 crew cockpit, then better engines and add cargo, my frontier now is all new parts, i don't think one part is original so you just upgrade it, i also add a particle beams weapons, and delete the missles and lasers it comes with..so its fine to start with actually i use the starborn ship at the very beginning just so i can reach a few longer distance spots like the vultures roost and mantis lair, in order to make some early credits then as soon as i have credits i upgrade the frontier since the startborn ships are kinda bland.
This was very helpful I love this ship and like you would like to keep and upgrade it. tks
So you show that a ship does not suck, by replacing nearly every functional component, and still be sub par in every thing you did not replace?
Hey, you fly what ever makes you happy 😉.
At least untill you come back and take them all out
I always turn the Frontier into a big c class star ship with high cargo and crew/passenger slots.
We’ll see.
my method to make the frontier better was to completely gut the entire thing and basically build a whole new ship.
Hey what ever works for you dude 👍🏻.
Upgrading the Frontier is cheaper than buying a new ship.
Edit: I was expecting early game upgrades. Going Class B definitely jumped the price point up.
Yeah my bad. Maybe I should to another video with more light weight A class parts later on.
@@HalfwayNutsNo sweat. I should have completely watched the video first.
You're on point. I can see Barrett In his ½ sarcastic way asking "Dang man, now what am I going to fly, I'm too old and beat up to go back to flight school for a Class B license. Well, I guess youngster, your bound to have to fly me everywhere from now on. But I do wonder, who is going to rescue us?"
thanks, nice video.
You know what else would look cool? Decoy flares for starships. How sick would it be to fire a missile just to watch them put out flares?! 😯
Soo.. you took early game ship, wasted 100k credits on it, so it would perform just a bit better?
It doesn't even suck. It's just a regular spaceship that makes sense as a starter.
Out of the box it just needs more power. It doesn't have enough power to run the engines, shields, and weapons it already has at the same time. I'd say the first upgrade to make would be a better reactor and after that it's not a bad little ship.
For traveling around and sticking to the main story? Maybe.
If you go off the beaten path to explore.. The ship gets wrecked.
I transformed mine into something like the republic hover tank.

Seems kind of weird that people feel the need to point out the starter ship isn't that great. Starting gear is just meant to be a stepping stone to getting better stuff.
Yeah I’ve got a lot of guesses of my own as to why that might be. You’re not wrong though, games are full of stepping stones.
It's like "My childhood bedroom sucks." No shit, you're an adult, hopefully you outgrew your childhood bedroom.
If Frontier is bad it's a build issue. My Frontier slaps. I won't bother flying anything else.
Agreed.

The only part i kept was the hab
At least you held onto that. 👍🏻
Weird you framed this as a superior solution to getting a better ship outright. You can steal or earn via quest rewards better ships MUCH sooner than this build given the skill point investment needed to make it a Class B. Still using or caring about the Frontier at level fortysomething makes no sense at all.
If it makes no sense to you then don’t do it. To somebody who likes the Frontier and enjoys customizing ships, this makes perfect sense 😁.
That’s the whole point. This is how I choose to evolve my starships and people don’t need to like it, agree with it, or understand it 😁.
Hopefully you got better. Cause that Frontier still sucks.
You can't actually sell the Frontier. But you can lose parts by deleting them.
That’s probably a good thing. I’ve accidentally sold ships before just goofing off.

Yep, pretty much 😁.
Ur better off starting the game and going to serpentis system and steal a dirge iii from varuun
