The Man makes any keyboard sound freakin the best there is...
The breathy air simulation of saxophone,flute and trumpets is enough to convince me to buy this model.
This keyboard is impressive for the price. Casio did a great job with this unit. It has a 17 track sequencer, solid styles, some great sounds, sound editing (which is not often found in arranger keyboards), mp3 and wav player, rhythm builder, phrase builder, and more. I have read it's not easy to use in terms of menu diving, but that's most likely due to the smaller screen; but if you can work around that I think Casio has likely sold a boat-load of these things. There are features in this unit that cross between arranger and synth workstation. I'm interested to see if they do an update to this board or come out with something like a Casio CT-X6000. For now, the CT-X5000 is not bad at all...in fact pretty darn good for the price with features you would normally find on arranger keyboards costing $1000 and up.

I've had one of these for almost two years, and I can say that is definitely very good for the price. That's it. It's not amazing, but you are also paying only $500, so it's very much worth it. When I got mine in November of 2019, I was coming from a $100 keyboard and was not a very good player, so something like this was mind-blowing. After months of teaching myself and being taught the technicalities and art of music on both keyboard/piano and various other instruments, I've started to feel limited by the keyboard, but I still appreciate all that I've learned and explored on it. So, if you're someone who wants to explore music and improve upon your abilities and don't have very deep pockets, than this keyboard is a great choice.
What is a good upgrade over this? thanks
@@maccagrabme I'm currently thinking about getting a Yamaha MODX7 as an upgrade. I'd say the MODX series of keyboards or maybe the Roland FA series would be sensible upgrades. They are both a significant jump in price ($1,300-$2,000), and in quality, but I think they are a good step up from the CTX series. There are of course options that are cheaper, but they are, in my opinion, not worth upgrading to, since they are only somewhat better than the CTX series. I recommend researching as many keyboards as you can that may be suitable upgrades from the CTX-5000 and find ones you like. That's what I did.

Glad to see Casio get some love finally, I feel like its such an under appreciated brand compared to Yamaha or Roland.
Casio got a lot of heat because many of their sounds sounded "fake". This is a big improvement over their earlier offerings.

It's because their products can tend to be toy like and people want better feeling and sounding instruments. But, this one looks/sounds great for the price.

He plays Bruno Mars without playing the song. Brilliant. I put Mr. Ujiie on autoplay and watch for hours. So much fun to watch him play so effortlessly.
This casio includes that rythm (24K Magic) amazing.
Mr Ujiie has just sold me this keyboard.

I am looking to upgrade from my old but still perfectly functioning CTK 811-EX. The sounds on this CTX 5000 are great!
This keyboard is impressive. It offers a multitude of features that you can't find on other keyboards without costing you an arm and leg. The sound is excellent, really authentic and the speakers are well made. No crackling and you can really hear those deep base tones you can't usually hear on other keyboards with built-in speakers. I'm very happy with this purchase. Great job Casio.

It's great what you can have these days for less than 450$... It really doesn't sound bad at all for the price!

Casio Calculator ? :-). Casio's first keyboard was released in 1980. Bought my first one in 1983
My first was a VL tone vl1 smalest with calculator in 1983. Second MT400V in 1985, CZ 5000 in 1987, now ctk 3000 and 495 in stockroom

未だに昔のカシオトーンの印象のままでいるとコスパに優れたPCM音源シンセをうっかり見逃してしまいますね(^o^) 複数種の同時使用可能なマスターFXに100種類のインサーションFXが使えるので、出音は驚きのクオリティー。箱型の標準鍵盤61鍵やピッチベンドなどマスターキーボードとしても活用できそうです。

A great demo, better than most I've seen on UA-cam. It would be worth adding English sub-titles.

Es un gusto ver probar teclados de esta manera, en todas las líneas.
Eso nos dice que ningun instrumento tiene que ser malo solo por estar en una gama u otra, yo empece con un sa-76, pasando por un ct-100/ ct-240/ ct-1550 hasta llegar al magnifico ctx5000 que en mi opinion es el teclado perfecto.

Here's what I would say to the detractors of Casio in general and this board in the demo. Perception doesn't always equate with reality. And affordability isn't always analogous to lower value or quality. This may not seem like the keyboard of the stars. But it could very well be the keyboard that is the maker of tomorrow's star 🎼🎶🎙🎹🕶😎
Bought the keyboard based off this review. Cant wait to play it Christmas day! Thank you for the demo! :)
4 years later how do you like it? How do the keys feel? That's my only concern before dropping $$ on this. Currently play a Roland FP10 and know it won't be as good
