I was about to buy korg ek 50 today. But in the shop i also tried casio ctx 5000 and I feel in love.
1 Sounds better to my ears. More crisp sound.
    2 Arrpegiator!!
    3 Much better sequencer
    4 I love the keybed.
    5 More regbuttons
6 You can easily mute all individual parts.
And again: Tx for all your info Jeremy. Makes it so much easier. 😀

Really nice video and general overview. I just purchased the CT-X3000 myself because I just *had* to see what Casio could pull off for $300. The last Casio I ever had was in 1986 and it was a very small keyboard for beginners. But the CT-X ... just wow, I can't believe how much they have included for the money. Sure, I've only owned it for a few days, so time will tell how it holds up, but my first impression is extremely good. Excellent sound quality, lots of features, great looks, nice feel. If this is a sign of more good things to come, then the future looks bright!

Hi Jeremy, always great to see your videos. I'm torn between this and the Yamaha PSREW425. Here in Australia they are priced pretty muxh in the same range.
I like sound sculpting features in both (lack of which turned me away from Korg Ek50). The Ctx5000 obviously excels in this. But, the operating system is turning me off. On the other hand the PSREW425 seems like a fun keyboard with some advanced features.
Any suggestions which I should choose between the two?

Hi Jeremy ! Congratulations for your great work !
All your videos, reviews and presentations are very useful for us.
Tell me please, is there any differences betwen CT-X3000 and CT-X5000 regarding the plastic quality? I had both of them and it seems that the CT-X3000 is made by more rough textured solid plastic compared to CT-5000, at least in the non-mat parts. Did you notice this ?
Also, is it posible that they are manufactured in different countries, Japan, China ?

One more thing I read in the manual about the pedals. You don't have to plug in an expression pedal for the 2nd pedal port. You could input 2 identical Casio pedals and set one to sustain and one to sostenuto. I don't have two pedals to test though, but it ought to work.

I would love for you to make a side by side comparison to Casios now ancient WK-7600 (CTK-7000). Even though its old. I feel some of its attributes could have been incorporated in post keyboards. Sir I have 3 questions.
    1) kindly tell me what do you think about the sound quality of CTX9000 vs PSR463 vs Roland EX20 ..... I am so confused. The shop owners say EX20 is just an expensive toy with horrible sound quality and Casio's sounds is also very poor and unrealistic. They say only yamaha provide a descent sound quality in this around 20k rupees range. Is it true ?
    2) My budget is 20k at best. What keyboard should i take ? I am a budding composer and make instrumental. So I mainly want to use it as recording purpose. I need at least 'descent sound quality' and i should be able to 'record' the keyboard's sound (not as midi) as audio in the DAW.
    3) Regarding recording audio i have another question. Can i use the headphone output of the keyboard to send output from the keyboard to my audio interface (aka Sound Card) and record it ? and if so, then will the audio quality be as good as compared to the audio recorded using dedicated line output ? Asking this because Low end Keyboards (e.g Yamaha PSR series, Casio CTK series) does not provide dedicated 'stereo line output'.
Please reply sir if possible. I am very confused. Please help.

I think this keyboard came from the same family of XW or at least with a lot of similarities, what I notice in the XW (because I had one) was during a performance it would occasionally lag and this was the major factor for me selling it and I'm sad to find out after listening to some demo's that the problem seems to have carried over to this keyboard as well because I hear those dropouts when some styles were played. I think most people won't notice because they'll think it's a video dropout but no, it's the actual keyboard. 😔

Hi Jeremy. I remember your Casio CT-X700 review and how you mentioned that, on that particular model, there is really no way to control the individual volume of tones when layering them together. Well, I went through the manual for CT-X5000, and it doesn't mention anything about fine-tuning the each individual tone's volume in the layer, either. I don't expect that this keyboard will be as feature-rich in the sound layering department as my Roland Juno DS is, but does it at least allow for some volume control of the individual layer parts? I used to have a Casio WK-3000, which had quite simple layering (only 2 tones), but it had a mixer, and I was able to control the volume of each tone in the layer. But, I don't know if this keyboard has an on-board mixer that would let me control the layer parameters like that.

You can on the CT-X5000. It's there.

I have purchased CTX5000 which so far giving me ample satisfaction as a beginner. I am trying to get tremolo effect for instrument like Mandolin and struggling to set it up. Can any of the keyboard pros here help me? Not finding any tutorials on this setup in web.

Hi, I was thinking of choosing between this and a korg kross 2, which would be better? I’ve never had a workstation before haha

Korg Kross 2 would be far superior, but also pricer. If you can afford it, go with the Korg.

Also take in consideration that the Korg Kross 2 is a Workstation, not a Personal Arrenger. The Korg has a very nice drum track for any program or combi available and you can even sequence your own drum tracks, but it doesn't have the auto-companion features (fills, grooves, auto-chord) that the Casio CTX5000 has.

    Hi Jeremy,
Any suggested stand for these keyboards. I have small children at home, and I am a little bit worried. So is there any option which is very stable and which can somehow attach / lock the keyboard in the stand?
    Thanks a lot,
    Roberto
