  • Format USB drive with the Casio keyboard. Plug the USB drive into a computer. There will be one folder called, MUSICDAT. Place your Midi file in that folder. Plug the USB drive back into the Casio keyboard. A USB icon will be at the top right, it will flash until it is mounted, wait for it to stop flashing. Push the "Songbank" button under the display. Scroll to your Midi file. Push the "Play" button in the accompaniment section. To play it once push the "Repeat", the display on the left side will show that repeat is off. Enjoy!

Under show more, this is the same text that's at the start of the video. I corrected the USB icon to the Top Right of the display. No questions on this how to? Let me know in the comments. And did you you know that you can play the keyboard while playing back a Midi file? Thanks!

You're welcomed! I'd like to hear your Casio CTX 5000 play the midi version of Jump for my Love by the Pointer Sisters!

Is it possible the keyboard to play audo format songs from the usb flash or it is possible only midi files?

The keyboard can play audio files also. But they have to be .wav files, not mp3's.

Hello, can you listen to all the Midi's continuously? That is, can I create a Play List and listen to all the songs continuously?

    • @johnsmithkeysareme
      @johnsmithkeysareme  2 роки тому

I don't remember seeing an option to make a playlist. It will repeat the midi file playing, unless you turn that off. But, if you have a way to combine midi files, into just one midi file, the CTX would think that it is only one midi file, and would play that file. But there is a limit either on file size, or maximum notes. The users manual should state the limit of notes, using a basic DAW would allow you to make the midi file.

The keys of this instrument work very loudly. Casio - shame and disgrace!
But how to copy composed songs to USB? Does anyone know the answer? If so, thanks for the info.

To save Digital Keyboard data to a USB flash
      drive:
      1. Insert the USB flash drive into the Digital
      Keyboard’s USB flash drive port.
      2. Press 10 FUNCTION.
      3. Use the [1] () 12 number keys
to display “Media”, and then press [6] (ENTER).
      4. Use the [1] () keys to display
“Save”, and then press [6] (ENTER).
      5. Use the [1] () keys to display a
sub-menu of options that correspond to the
      type of data being saved.
      • See “Sub Menu/File Name Extension List” (above).
      6. Press [6] (ENTER).
      • If “All Data” is selected in step 5, step 7 is not required.
      Proceed to step 8.
      7. Use 13 [-] and [+] or the dial to select the
data to be saved, and then press [6] (ENTER).
      8. Input the file name you want to use.
      • See “Text Character Input” (page EN-15) for
information about how to enter text.
      9. Press [6] (ENTER).
      This displays “Sure?”
      • The message “Replace?” will appear if there is already
data with the same name on the USB flash drive. If this
happens, pressing 13 [+] (YES) in step 10 below will
overwrite the existing data with the new data.
      10. Press 13 [+] (YES) to save.
      • To cancel the operation, press 13 [-] (NO).
      • Pressing 13 [+] (YES) displays “Wait...” (operation in
progress). Do not perform any operation while this
message is displayed. “Complete” is displayed after
      the operation is complete.
      11. To exit the operation, long-press the [4] (EXIT)
      12 number key.
If this is confusing, use the manual page 122, it explains what I wrote. Any questions comment back!😁
