    Man, I really, really like these it’s a plus that blue is my favorite color but also that they are endangered kind of makes them appealing to me to breed makes it feel like I’m doing something good for the hobby!! 🤔

    Would love to learn more about how you raise so many babies. With them producing so rapidly, I can't imagine they're raised in individual enclosures... or are they? Or do you raise them communally until you sell them?

    • @LivingArtbyFrankPayne
      @LivingArtbyFrankPayne  2 роки тому +2

      I raise them as clutchmates (2 together). When I’m overloaded i will raise communally by bloodline. I do have over a hundred small enclosures for baby geckos and chameleons though!

    I think you have inspired me to want to breed these beautiful little creatures.
    I'm 24, single & away from home and always have had a passion for reptiles since I was a kid but never have had the money or houseing to take care of them. I work hard and in my spare time want to really do something I'm passionate about and love. Geckos & Reptiles being one of them. I hope to pick up a pair from you after I get my enclourse all setup for them.
    Thank you so much for your knowledge and wisdom!! You're daughter is going the Steve Irwin of Geckos 💚

    Hi Frank, I know this video is a bit old now, but can you keep all the babies together, or is it better to house them alone or in smaller groups? I have a 7 month old female from Josh’s Frogs and I am waiting to find a male or another baby to raise up. Can’t wait to try breeding them!

      Yes you can raise similar sized babies together. I raise the babies in groups of 2-6.

      The basic principle of the more often you feed the faster they grow is true for pretty much all reptiles I think.

    I love these videos of yours, dude. How you explain things in a simplistic way truly helps me understand. I'm considering owing this species strongly as I admire the coloring, especially on the males. I've done my homework for nearly a year and have finally obtained a couple small mini vertical exo terra cages. All my plants and lights are set up nicely, but I first intend to start off with just a single captive bred male. No breeding atm. Would I ever intend to breed someday? Yes. And with that, I do have an important question to ask- Do you remove males and females from each other after the breeding season to give the girls a chance to recover and regain what they've lost? I once heard of someone's females breeding themselves to death, and that's something that I wanna avoid in the future. Just curious.

    • @LivingArtbyFrankPayne
      @LivingArtbyFrankPayne  Рік тому

      Thank you so much! I don't separate the pairs ever. They live together year round.

    • @torIIgo
      @torIIgo Рік тому

      @@LivingArtbyFrankPayne Really? So, other than multiple hiding spots, you never rest your females at all from becoming exhausted from the males' further advances?

    • @LivingArtbyFrankPayne
      @LivingArtbyFrankPayne  Рік тому

      @@torIIgo they don't become "exhausted". Males and females live on the same tree in the wild year round. I have female williamsi at least ten years old and still breeding and in excellent health.

      @torIIgo Рік тому +1

      @LivingArtbyFrankPayne Thanks for the reply, and that is interesting. And, when I really think about it, makes a lot of sense. This really does help me in future decisions when I can finally have my own little geckos. I find that it never hurts to be too concerned with any pet, especially one's as tiny as these guys. I just had to be sure and ask someone with much more experience so that I won't make any mistakes.
