    • @LivingArtbyFrankPayne

      It is possible but you must have a very strong grasp on the care of both species first before attempting to combine them.

    I know I’m writing down this comment a bit too late based on the publishing date of this video but through all the research I’m doing about this reptiles’ husbandry i think this is the best detailed video i’ve found so far. I’ve got one question about keeping them together. You said you recommend to keep one male and two females per enclosure at most but,since i don’t want to breed them (because of cites conditions) is it good to keep just a single male in an enclosure or it would suffer from ‘being alone’ and not socialising with others?

    Hello, I have a question. I noticed that many (most i've seen, honestly) people put Electric Blue Geckos in vertical enclosures rather than horizontal ones. I assume it's because they're arboreal. What do you think about that? Is there a reason you consider a horizontal terrarium to be better for them? Thank you in advance

    • @LivingArtbyFrankPayne
      @LivingArtbyFrankPayne  Рік тому

      The more horizontal space the better. As long as the enclosure is at minimum 18” tall. Of course taller is better as well.

    Hello! I have a 90x60x90 enclosure adapted for dendrobates auratus. It was my first vivarium, I’ve made a mistake and I’ve bought it too tall for them. The insects that I give them escaping in the top of terrarium and nobody eats them. Can I have mourning geckos with dendrobates auratus? Can you give me your advice? People keep them together. But I also have fear that they can transmit some illnesses to each other, no? Amphibians together with reptiles. What do you think about this?

    So I know you probably get this question a fair lot, but I'll ask anyway: I have a rather big enclosure (200x80x120cm) and I was looking at geckos as inhabitants, and obviously the electric blues caught my eye because how would they not? They're beautiful!
    Now my question would be, as you mentioned that you should only keep one male and (maybe) a couple females in an enclosure, would several males/females in that size be okay? I know that they live in their own palmtrees in nature, with each tree being their territorium, which would obviously not be possible to recreate in an enclosure so I was wondering if it would work out!
    Great video, quick and easily comprehensible overview of those beauties and straight to the point!

    • @LivingArtbyFrankPayne
      @LivingArtbyFrankPayne  3 роки тому +2

      They would love such a large enclosure! You could easily keep one male and several females in there.

    Thank you for the in depth information. They’re beautiful little creatures. How do you keep them warm when you turn off the lights at night? Do the lights draw much electricity? ie do you find a huge increase in the electric bill? TIA

I have a zoo med mini combo deep dome with a 13w 5.0 uvb bulb and a 60w daylight blue lamp bulb that came with the dome. Are these fine to use and should I suspend the dome on top or directly on the mesh? Great video, thank you

    Very cool set up and very beautiful creatures. Hopefully the hobby produces more breeders like you. You seem very systematic in developing care and breeding regimens.
    Question: How does one track exact lineage when keeping multiple females in the same enclosure? Does this cast doubt on the identity of a newborn's mother if both females lay eggs?

      @LivingArtbyFrankPayne  Рік тому +1
