I have the hp pavilion 15z-w100 and I must say that it sucks for games. Had it for a couple years now and when my mom got it she got a discount off it for work and thought it’d be great for gaming. I was grateful anyways but it’s not suitable for games lmao. Running 5 FPS on any game I play unless it’s a game such as terraria.
I picked up the intel I5 version from Walmart (of all places...) the other day. I agree that 256gb of ssd is wimpy, but it does have another drive bay available, and can be upgraded nicely in that regard. A 4tb drive and a 16gb mem stick are definitely in the near future. Overall, I do like the fit and finish, I like the feel of it, and it is a nice quick machine for doing my non-gaming but graphics card intensive work... if you can catch one of the Walmart ones, there is a significant price break right now - but you have the intel processor instead, so you do get what you are paying for... Battery life is definitely the trade off here, and part of how the weight stays down to what it is. 7:07. Very glad I purchased this unit.
Rn, im aiming for the i5 version. The ryzen is good but overall performance, you will get better fps ingames with the i5 than the ryzen due to less ram consumption. (atleast that's what i've seen during comparisons)
This is still a solid gaming laptop in 2023. Upgrade my ram from 8 to 16 and added a 1tb internal drive in the extra hd slot for under $90. It’s very easy to upgrade👍
Do you think that is worth buying an used one with really good conditions and warranty lasting more 6 months? I found one and the price is very good, my budget allows me to buy a new lenovo ideapad 3 with r5 5500U, but I found this one used with the same price and started to think about it.
@@AxthZ I believe it’s worth it for sure. It can handle whatever games you throw at it. I play MW2, Diablo 4 beta, Undisputed boxing,and GTA with no issues. It has a quiet cooling fan and has never gave me overheating issues. You can probably find one used for around $500 or so.

I'm searching for a budget laptop for civil engineering student. Now I'm indecisive between Hp pavilion 15gaming and Levono IdeaPad gaming 3. By the way, the hidden iphone 12 pro picture is at 7:07 in this video.
I have one of these and it's a GREAT way to get your foot in the door when it comes to PC gaming. That being said I've seemed to outgrow this rig pretty fast. The model I own is the Intel i5, GTX 1660 ti, 8GB model with only around 500GBs of storage. The CPU and GPU are okay, but if you're planning on playing most newer triple A titles do NOT skimp on the RAM like I did, get at least the 16GB model. The storage is also very disappointing, with games easily hovering around the 100GB range these days that 500GB doesn't get you very far. I ended up buying an external hard drive in order to store more games (which isn't the best since it does slightly affect load in times). The lack of ports is also extremely inconvenient, I use an external mouse and keyboard and that takes up pretty much your only 2 normal USB ports, and the USB 3 being taken up by my external hard drive leaves me with no ports left for other accessories. In the laptop's defense it's made to be a portable gaming computer, NOT a replacement for a desktop rig which is primarily how I've been using it. Don't get me wrong it's a great buy at under $1000, especially considering it would cost you more for a desktop with comparable specs (including monitor, keyboard, etc.) especially with today's GPU prices... But, if you're going to do exactly as I did and turn it into your main PC you might be better off spending a little more for an actual desktop for better upgradability and overall convenience.

So in other words the 2020 version was/is better. From the other review I just watched. Also the cooling fans are place in a much better position and run much quieter. I think that's the reason I like this laptop so much. HP do a good job at keeping this quieter, and a little cooler, without a bunch of fancy software techniques and adjustments. Which I think hinder the experience. I like the 2020 with the 2 back vents. I think I'll go for it, given the cheaper price.

I've noticed gaming with this laptop while it's on battery power does absolutely affect overall performance. I only game while the device is plugged in, you'll also drain your battery insanely fast if you're gaming with it unplugged. Non-demanding games like indy games should be fine though.

I have this this laptop from 2 weeks and have a question i play the witcher 3 on him on max settings using cooling pad and after 3 hours gameplay i see the cpu hit 96 degrees in moments is that normal using cooling pad and not having dust in the laptop bc it new? Room is like 25-27 degrees. Ryzen 7 5800h RTX 3050ti 16gb RAM.

BTW upgrading your ram (up to 32gb) and adding a 1tb ssd drive is very easy and you can do it yourself I’m sure.

Im not 100% sure but if ur playin lets say fortnite while its charging the worst that could happen os ur pc heating up quickly or fps dropping in game

Make sure the laptop is real. Also, they probably gave you a gaming laptop that doesn’t work. It sometimes happens. Call where you got it from

I have this this laptop from 2 weeks and have a question i play the witcher 3 on him on max settings using cooling pad and after 3 hours gameplay i see the cpu hit 96 degrees in moments is that normal using cooling pad and not having dust in the laptop bc it new? Room is like 25-27 degrees. Ryzen 7 5800h RTX 3050ti 16gb RAM.
It is a bit hotter than expected, you can refer to manufacturer

Do not buy this laptop it breaks to easily it got over heated in just 1 week started glitching and really noisy get a MacBook or a different Hp they aren’t that good anyway
