Absolutely adore you not leaving any steps out, for people who are still new to dealing with internals it can all be quite literally mystical, and so showing (and editing in other angles) is very alleviating to the usual worries. Easy to imitate you, much less stressful!
If you change the ram, wont you lose existing data
Why wouldn't you just add an another 8gb stick to other side instead of buying two new sticks
@@justinbailey7281 Because you can get a kit of ram with more MHz. The Pavillion has 2600 MHz ram, and I'm actually upgrading mine in a few days with 3200.
@@justinbailey7281RAM is temporary memory storage and resets each time you restart your computer
@@justinbailey7281 Your computer data is stored in the internal storage drive, not the RAM. RAM just determines how fast your computer can process data and allows more memory. Hence why more of it is faster and thus better.
can we appreciate the fact that this guy is actually really helpful?
He was helpful but unplugging the battery cable to put ram in. Is unprofessional.
@@taichiherov8135 Is it not necessary to do that? I don't want to mess up my computer
@@taichiherov8135why? It isn’t necessarily bad to do that, I think he was just being safe
@@localdealer2105it is bad . He wasn’t professional at all. That wasn’t necessary.
Still using this guide 2 years later 🎉 Awesome guide, helped me fix RAM issues I was having.
This is one of the best videos showing how to upgrade gaming laptops. Simple, informative, good camera angles showing what you are doing, and x10 better than any other similar video I've been able to find. Thank you!
honestly the most useful tech video on this site. you masterfully explained what to do in less than 10 minutes, and got straight to the point! Thanks!
Great job in a very calm way and step by step explanation of how to upgrade memory and the layout of the motherboard components!
I love this video so much, you didn't leave a single step out and showed us the best way to do the steps. Very straightforward thank you!
using the HDD magnet was a great idea. I use it a lot
Nicely done - easy to follow along with. I like to watch this kind of video every so often from different people to see how each person does it.
Great tutorial! Worked 100%! Even used the guitar pick. Though, my HP gaming laptop didn’t have the black sticker over the RAM cards.
Is it used?
@@denkrblx437 Mine didnt have a black sticker over it either - bought it new
@@davidduffy1101 hmmm maybe they changed the production and stopped putting the black sticker
Have this laptop and I play Minecraft on it and it’s using the integrated graphics how do I change it to the dedicated graphics card

2023, still a useful tutorial, thanks. I miss the olden days when my original HP Pavillion had a removable little door on the bottom to access your ram slots. Back in the days when companies gave a crap about their customers.

I've only upgraded desktops and was worried about upgrading my laptop, this made it so much easier thanks so much
Np❤
Thank you for making that easier than I expected. I feel confident about adding more RAM now.
Thank you so much for this! Everything about computer parts is absolutely mumbo jumbo for me so I appreciate the slow and concise step by step instructions
Yw❤
One of the best tutorials I’ve watched in a long time!
Thanks, my ram was constantly at 90% so I put in another 8gb stick and now it's running great

Really helpful video! I first watch this in 2022, now Im upgrading my laptop's RAM again. Thank you!
Thankyou so much! I got a 16GB ram stick and replaced it with one of the 4’s this video helped a lot, I’m now subscribed.
Ive never even seen the inside of a laptop but this video just made everything seem so simple so thank you
you have the best tutorial memory upgrade video I have ever seen, thank you.
thanks. Looking at buying my teenage son one of these for an upcoming birthday. Very useful even if I dont plan on upgrading the ram.

Hey! I just wanted to say thank you for this vid. It was very helpful. You explained everything really well with how to take out the ram and insert the new ram cards. I watched some other vids and they weren't as informative as yours. I also got that message and was glad to see that it was normal. Anyway thank you again!
is it necessary to remove the battery part thing?
@@LiegeMaximo the connector? I did it. I didn't take out the battery though. Just unclasped it from It's power source which is a good practice for when your working on anything. If you disconnect the battery you have less of a chance of creating an electrostatic charge and frying something, In my opinion.
@@littleflip55 oh ok, thanks! 🙏

you explained every step as if you were talking with a layman
if i showed this to a non-tech savvy person (but with the corrrect tools) they would be able to upgrade their laptop by themselves
kudos for you!
It worked perfect, thank you for making this video. The error also popup, but you only need to hit enter to make your laptop restart.❤
Thanks for this man. Very useful and easy to understand
Thanks, you earned yourself one more subscriber. This is the only one I understood.
Saving this video for the future. Excellent breakdown.
Thanks so much! I got one of these as a gift and they got it with 4 gigs of ram, hopefully we can bump that up to 16!
4 GB? I think it comes with 8
@@santipro64 maybe, i think i remember it saying 4, but either way its 16 now
very helpful. I had another HP with the same type of ram so I just stripped it out of that and put it into the one I wanted to use. handy placeholder until I upgrade the ram much further.
Worked perfectly man, this helped me a lot, and without this I would be doomed. I really needed this so thank you!!
love the pfp
@@noyou1933 I love your pfp
@eLKy 15 Short answer is yes, but research the laptop’s capacity for the RAM before buying and installingnit
I have this laptop can play every game on max don’t see why it needs the upgrade

How is it 5 months down the road? Any issues? Like getting too hot or something? I’m new to this and wanna do 32 instead of 16 lol

This video was too great! You earned my sub!
Thanks, great video, told me everything I needed to know to get this RAM installed
This was really helpful!
Great tutorial. I saved money doing this. Same laptop with higher ram was way more expensive. I got the 8gb one and upgraded to 32gb. Your video was very helpful!
@Trinkely I’m also curious! 😂
I would also like to know
how did you make sure that 32gb was supported ??
thank you for the video, waiting on two 16 GB RAM cards to arrive for my HP Pavillion 15 laptop. I will know what to do now when they arrive.
Awesome video! The step by step really helped!

Thanks for this video. I was able to upgrade my RAM and finally be able to play Red Dead Redemption 2 on my laptop. I'd say the hardest part about it all was getting the back cover off lol.
Lol this is so satisfying to watch, nice job man.

Best tutorial for how to upgrade ram for this laptop. Thank you for your excellent explanation and guide
This was incredibly helpful for a newbie such as myself. Thanks!

Thanks man!! Really appreciate it 🙏🏻
Appreciate the tutorial, thank you!
I didn't think there would be the exact video I needed lol
Super helpful. Thanks!
Thanks a lot, this was extremely helpful.
Thank you, great video very helpful!!
Worked for me, upgraded from 8GB to 32GB
As one tech to another I should suggest you add one thing to this sort of video my laptop is a gaming 15 DK and the four screws in the back if you look closely are NOT the same length! so when a user removes screws from a laptop like this, they should lay them out next to the laptop in the same pattern so that the same screw goes back in the same hole... I use a piece of tape that I stick the heads of the screws on so that way they stay where I put them
Thank you so much! Huge help!
Very helpful!
A really helpful guide as i am planning to upgrade both the ram and add a ssd, 2tb or 4tb not sure yet. Might as well replace the nvme one with a new 1 tb pcie 4.0.
At least now i know how to do it without breaking stuff.
It worked! Thank you 👍.
Thank you that helped a lot.
Excellent video. Thanks 👍
Thank you
thanks this help me alot
Thank you so much for this video
This guy is a legend
thanks for the help
Thanks man
You get the added bonus of going from 8gb single channel ram to 16gb of dual channel ram by adding a 2nd stick.
Dual channel ram has twice the data transfer speed (Bandwidth).
Thanks man!
Thank you!
Nice! Thank you for your video.
Awesome tutorial thank you so much
Thanks a lot!
Thanks, helped a lot
Thank you so much I have the same computer and I watched this video and installed 16 GB and took out my 8 GB of ram
Why didn't u keep the 8 gig in and install the 16 in other slot? You will have 24 gigs of ram I do. I have same laptop
@@gregst.martin4889 some laptop models of hp have ram limit to 16gv
Bro u should have done 8,8gb ram for dual channel boost brother
Much much bigger improvement than single stick of 16gb ram

This was easier than I thought it would be, the hardest part of the entire thing was the screws and that wasn’t even hard just time consuming since I didn’t have a screw driver lol
