Good job,,, MotorcycleExperience !! I am loving my 'new to me' ST13,,,, great value, and solid performance. I jumped up over two decades from my other bikes in the stable, and still found this Honda had a familiar feel.

Just bought my brand new ST1300 for the new season 2016 having had a pan previously and 2 new GL1800's after that. This motorcycle for me defines throw it around useability and the rock solid Honda engine reliability. Ride the bike like this guy in the video and not like a maniac and it will be around for a very long time

Pretty hard to buy one new in 2016 when they stopped making the model in 2012.

@@humelakecabin That is what I thought but they managed it. In 2017 I swapped the ST1300 for the new BMW K1600 bagger. the dealer told me they had stopped making the GL1800 too. Guess what! loe and behold shortly thereafter Honda announced the new revamped Goldwing DCT model. Hows that for losing customers and influencing people

Honda has a terrible habit of not keeping up with customers demands when it comes to updating their flagship bikes. I recently purchased a 2006 ST1300 after test riding it mainly because it has significant power, is very nimble, and exceptionally well balanced for such a heavy bike. While it's platform is based on old technology, that tech is tried and true and that more than suffices for Honda enthusiasts. I also have a '98 Honda Valkyrie Tourer (3rd one) and at almost 20yrs old it's still looks showroom perfect in it's appearance and performs flawlessly and is reminiscent of a true muscle-bike and has a loyal following just like the folks who love old muscle-cars. While Honda's reliability cannot be beat, and there's something to be said for them remaining true to what has proven to work, they leave a lot to be desired as far as upgrades go. If they're not careful they will find themselves fighting for survival like Harley and Victory who also are notorious for sticking with older platforms instead of venturing into modernity. Love those Honda's!!!

Not to argue but I have a 2006 and I see virtually no difference. You narrated some of the changes such as the seat adjustment but didn't show us what it does. The instrument panel is virtually identical. No wonder this bike was discontinued, Honda made no serious effort to upgrade it where it mattered most. Look at the BMW K1600 GT. BMW has been upgrading and improving this bike in concrete tangible ways that matter to riders each and every year. Including major cosmetic changes.
Honda is a great company, but they failed this model.

Curtis Johnston , this appears to be an old video of one of the 1st years of the ST1300, they are talking about it compared to the ST1100. The ST in the video does not have the power windscreen, that wasn't standard until the 2004 model. I agree that not much, besides the power windscreen, has changed since they first started making ST1300s.

I bought my 2003 ST1300 used with 100K miles to use for commuting to work. It's remarkably still solid at almost 120K. Probably still 90-95% capable from new. Give it the berries and the front wheel still gets light. I nearly killed the clutch in downtown Seattle one day but some of those hill top stop lights are nearly vertical. That's a lot of weight. Like doing 1000lb pull ups.
