I'm buying a 2006 Honda ST1300, just put a deposit down, for $5K with less than 13K miles on it. Feels like a steal to me! It replaces my first and only 2000 BMW R1100 RT, which I stupidly sold 5 years ago and have been kicking myself ever since! That being said, if I was a man of unlimited means I would hands down buy a 2017 BMW R1200 RT. In fact, up until 2 weeks ago I was going to do just that, having put $500 down on one at Seattle BMW. But at the end of the day taking on the debt was stressing me out so I bagged it. Then yesterday while cruising Craigslist I found a beautiful black ST1300. I cannot wait to pick it up. Giddy up! Back in the saddle again!

I definitely need a sports touring bike for riding two up.

They discontinued the st1300 a few years ago I think. Got a replacement out for it called another name. Just don’t see many of the st1300s here also in East Tennessee. See other sport touring just not many of the Honda’s here

One of my best friends is a Sargent Michigan State Policeman. He rides a Yamaha FJR 1300. we will be cruising together this summer. His bike is very fast.
are you buying this bike to ride with your besty? thats cool dude, i love sport touring bikes, i had a honda vfr800 it is very very comfortable but has the looks of a sport bike (smaller fairing) and also has a single side swingarm that just makes it look kickass

I'm sometimes afraid I'm going to get a traffic ticket on mine because I don't even realize how fast I'm going sometimes. Be in the middle of town. Look down at my speedometer like oh damn I'm going 60 I better chill.
Taste is very personal. I am in doubt about changing my ST1100 for a ST1300 because I prefer the looks (and the engineering) of the ST1100...

In Europe we drive constans 110-120mph non stop on highway or express roads, sport touring is best but not ST- it is too woooble in hi speed - if you drive more than 100 -120mph( 160-190km/h) it can woooble in straights. In fjr1300 there in no such thing you can easly go 130-140mph non stop by hours
So, it suits Australia perfectly……at those speeds they take your motorcycle from you, rip up your licence and fine you a huge amount of money. In any case, it’s perfect at anything from 100 to 140 kph 😎

These bikes are gems, but I don’t think they sold well in the US. I’ve only seen two others in the 3 years I’ve had mine. Most people say, “What is it?”, but I’ve even heard, “It looks like a big scooter”.
Outside of the hundreds sold to local and state police agencies. So many were sold that still, when I get on the frwy cars slow down until they see I am not a cop. These are a little basic and heavier than they need to be but the ST1300 still has more than enough power, speed and handling to keep all but the most hardcore sport bike fans happy. The only bad thing about these is they are the equivalent of a 6 cylinder Honda Accord. Mine has 118,000 miles and I could seriously ride it from coast to coast right now with no worries outside of a little snow.
