John Wick 2 Subway Fight With Realistic Sound Effects
Вставка

- I decided to change the sounds of the gunshots in the subway fight scene with louder ones to reflect the actual loudness of guns. It isn't perfect I know, and not all the guns are the real sounds. I couldn't find a video of someone shooting the AF1 Strike One with a suppressor. None the less I think I did a good job.
Weapons sounds:
Kimber Warrior 1911
Glock 17
Beretta 92FS
Check out part 2 here ua-cam.com/video/Bdd51SwG94Q/v-deo.html
Yay
The most unrealistic thing is how clean the subways are
Facts
Haha good point
The movie is set in a fictional reality bruh
What can you do, it was shot in Canada.
shit looks like a hospital
Still way too quiet to be realistic imo. Even the quietest guns will get the whole rooms' attention.
Yeah I know right. The whole scene is ridiculous.
Suppressed pistols with subsonic ammo can be crazy quiet.
@@ForgeStudiosWRZ Even still, that scene is stupid. Also yeah the quietness of the gun depends on what gun you're using, the ammunition you're using and the kind of suppressor you're using.
@@Equinox4O7 Yeah I definitely agree it was unrealistic (unless it was a .22, those can be silenced to movie tier levels). A suppressed gun with the right ammo is on the same level as a car door slamming shut.
@@ForgeStudiosWRZ Loudness aside people definiently should have noticed those two in that scene. I don't care how quiet your gun is.
Nah this isn’t realistic too. People were screaming and yelling when we did exactly the same thing.
Broo
What did he saaaaaay?!
Bruh😂
wait what????????
haha ikr....
Wait what?
The people walking like it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood.
John wick world is different from ours. There people don't interfere in gangster matters. If you have watched all of the John wick parts then you have noticed that wick kills the gangsters in front of people but still people behave like they didn't see anything.
@@sanmayakumardehury1079 still they should have some running scared to make realistic.
@@predatorking9021 I think they have get used to the daily crimes and murders happening in front of them that's why. If you have remembered in the first part police did nothing even if Wick killed a group of assassins in his home.
There’s probably God knows how many Assassins blending in the crowd. Remember when Winston gives the call to finally declare John wick excommunicado? Literally everyone got the message on their phone.
@@hagoromootsutski9058 I remember
The only thing bothers me is it looked like John was only shooting at pillars
now that youve pointed that out i cant ignore it now
I think that was deliberate on John's end. He could make those shots, but wasn't trying to kill Cassian in this shoot out. 'Cause if you think about it, John hardly misses in the franchise. And any misses he had done were largely intentional. I think this is a similar instance. And if you're asking why, I think he was trying to sway Cassian from pursuing him (as little of a chance he might have.)
Sure, John may have tried to kill him back in Rome before the found themselves at the Roman Continental, but as far as the Baba Yaga was concerned, he was still on Santino's marker task. Plus, John doesn't have any grudges against Cassian, and their conflicted circumstances were out of his control. Now that John's back in New York on a vendetta rather than a contract, Cassian was a largely unnecessary inconvenience for John. But since he was only after Santino and whoever was protecting him, which didn't include his deceased sister's bodyguard, he'd prefer to let Cassian live, regardless of the consequences he'd put on himself.
It also explains why John decided to repay Cassian's "professional courtesy" by mortally wounding him in the subway than immediately killing him (despite his promise to Cassian that he'll try to make his death quick), in contrast to everyone else who's been trying to kill him at this point.
@@Anino_Makata hope Cassian returns yet another professional courtesy by somehow helping him in John wick 4
@@mauwwwww Though it would be awesome, I can't really see that. The Wickverse may have bulletproof suits and an under-the-nose criminal underground, but a knife to the aorta is hard to walk away from. Even if you keep the knife in, it'll eventually have to come out. And when it does, you have two to three minutes max to say your last wishes, before tapping out for good.
His hand eye coordination was good. The bullet holes in the pillars seem to be the same level as Cassians head. It just seems like Johns timing was off.
Just so everyone knows. A suppressed weapon is still very loud and can still pierce an eardrum. The only way for it to sound slightly similar to what you hear in this movie is using subsonic ammo, which means the bullet has significantly less speed. When you fire a suppressed weapon you still hear a loud crack. That's the sound of the bullet breaking the sound barrier.
Not with a subsonic round but I wonder where they got a subsonic round
@@ShivamPatel-yq7rr I did say that.
@@Jakers95 The only way that could happen might be suppressed 22. With the suppressor wet. Also, they would have to be close to the train; because it's still loud.
@@timmyang4377 I do think subsonic 9mm could do this little noise, suppressed 22 basically has no sound compared to other guns.
@@LET4M4RU but why go and buy unreliable subsonic 9 mm. It's also super pricey. Just get .45
It’s funny how people are freaking out cause the whole scene is unrealistic which is true but the whole movie is.... they live in a world of assassins
That's part of the problem lol the first movie established a very realistic world and setting and the second movie breaks some of the realism with goofy things like this.
@r_ elentless01 The most successful assassins irl are the ones you don't hear about.
So if we don’t see or hear about them how do you know they exist 😂
@@Equinox4O7 are we gonna ignore the fact that those people don't notice the gun bullets and they might hit someone and start raise alarms?
@@Equinox4O7 I think it’s probably chalked up to the people in John Wick’s world are either assassins or are just so used to living in a world where assassins could pop out and kill someone at anytime lol. Just look at Jimmy the cop. He’s a police officer yet he doesn’t interfere with John’s ‘business’ in both movies, and Winston is somehow able to assemble dozens of assassins in the one place in Central Park with nobody else present. The world in John Wick is that much dangerous, normal people are just used to it now xD
The background music sounds like something the cod developers would use on a mission
Or main menu music lol
It’s from Delta Force 1998 main menu. It was my first FPS I ever played. I thought I recognized it.
@@checkmate9099 I knew it!
@@checkmate9099 nice, I was about to say that :P
that Tyler Bates the goat for ya
ok but yall need to remember that silencers dont reduce much noise just like these scenes
Obviously.
That’s why they’re called suppressors dip shit
@@Alikerry isnt suppressor reducing the muzzle flash too? So its a silencer
@@Alikerry Wrong. Terminology of original patents use silencer and US firearms legislation like the NFA also use the term silencer. I’m an engineering student focusing on firearms, both terms are correct. Get over yourself, you look like a jerk off trying to correct someone on something you are clearly not educated on.
@Pissed Cat
A _suppressor_ (with no qualifier) and a _silencer_ are the same. It works by slowing down and redirecting gases expelled when firing the weapon. This quiets the weapon and naturally results in less muzzle flash, but it's really a side benefit and not the main purpose of the device.
There's another device called a _flash suppressor_ designed with the sole purpose of reducing the amount of muzzle flash thereby increasing visibility in low light settings. A flash suppressor does _not_ reduce sound and is not designed to.
1:00 camera man gets shot but still films
What a trooper
Bulletproof vest. He’s used to it
loool
Cameraman never dies
Y'all are too hung up on the mechanics and the technicalities here and seem to forget that it's pretty much a fictional story about a world overrun by Assassins. They got bulletproof suits and shit. So, I actually expected them to have also developed better silenced weapons on a ridiculous level.
That's fair, I had the same thought about the super bulletproof body armor that the high table stormtroopers used. It's a world with a much bigger focus on weaponry and crime than ours
Everyone does it for everything. It gets annoying
One of main selling point of JW series is the effort spent in putting in details that average plebs wouldn't know about.
when John takes out the two guys next to the train the people walking in saw and pretend nothing happened.
People miss the point of the scenes anyway. It's a deeper look at society surrounded by violence and death and no one cares, they simply carry on with their days
When couples try to fight in public but wanna keep it quiet
Silencers reduce the sound so the whole town doesn't hear it, just the whole neighborhood. You're going to still hear a massive bang especially in a reverberating subway system. Silencers are more commonly used so your target is unaware of which direction they're being shot at from, yet they are still fully aware they're being shot at.
Exactly, roughly a 10-15 decibel damper. A bit more with subsonic ammunition but still over 100 decibels easily. And it would be very pronounced in a subway. Realistically it would sound very close to a normal gunshot.
The most realistic thing is that nobody notices John Wick bleeding
And no one is calling for emergency help
No need to because he’s an assassin
It can either be because:
A. It's New York. Nobody gives a shit.
B. Everyone is an assassin and they don't want to face off against John.
Imagine walking down into the subway just to see two men's killing each other with their silent pistols with no one even noticing it.
They could have been shooting each other with harsh glances, wouldn’t matter. You’re not walking next to a stranger that looks as beat up as Wick does in this. That’s so basic we don’t even think about it.
It’s nyc
I always tell people. Silencers don't actually silence the gun, it just lowers the sound to a point where it isn't completely deafening
*Sees man with a pistol in hand, bloodied face and 37 bullet holes in his jacket, running down stairs*
_“huh, what a normal tuesday”_
In the john wick universe, they have an unspoken rule where they don't bother the criminal world and their endeavours in return, they dont kill them
Lmao I know that everyone involved in the making of this film did their research and field testing on weapons, so I chuckled at this scene and accepted it, knowing it was their comic relief to put in a scene so rediculous and see that people where entertained by it. I don't want to call anyone dumb for critically analyzing this scene, but I'm telling you that I wouldn't waste a comment on telling everyone about the logistics of why this wouldn't work irl.
Yet you'll waste a comment saying absolutely nothing at all.
@@mechanomics2649 Its not a wasteful comment, it's a defense on this scene and why it shouldn't be overly criticised
To make things easier for you, I'll make an attempt to reiterate:
The producers of this film knew how dumb this scene was, but included it anyway for the sake of comedy. In light of that, it makes no sense for gun nuts or logicians to overanalyze it, escpecially in a YT comment section.
Might want to contact your local government about raising the public school subsidy if you aren't capable of understanding that I did indeed, say something. You can disagree with what I said if you feel so inclined, but I don't really suffer the old gaslighting trick you internet trolls so often practice.
Fr the John Wick franchise has never claimed to be realistic. In fact, they’ve claimed the opposite.
i like how each person waits for the other person to finish their turn before starting their turn
This scene is done ridiculously well
People kept screaming "this isn't realistic" when in fact high quality suppressors with subsonic ammunition can really be that quiet
This was just a fun video made purely for entertainment but the people in the comments seem to forget that this isn’t a mil-sim true story movie. It’s about a guy who goes on a killing spree in a world overrun by assasssins with bulletproof business suits.
These entire comment sections are professional hitman

Look, they're in New York City. Most residents probably commute expecting the occasional shootout. They're just grateful that this time the belligerents were courteous enough to suppress their shots. That's why nobody's reacting. This is as close to a "thank you" as you're ever going to get in New York; polite silence.
I honestly didn't expect this video to be serious. I had assumed the title was being sarcastic, so I was expecting silencer sound effects straight from les tontons flingueurs but still this didn't disappoint, it was satisfying to listen to the edited silencer noises. Great work ☺️
If you want to find out what most supressed rounds sound like, light up a single small fire cracker. There is a reason they are actually called suppressors and not silencers.
Ik it’s a stupid scene but this is one of the few movies I’m willing to let it slide for because it’s cool.
I love how nobody is talking about the spent bullet casings and how they don't make a sound when hitting the floor
Regardless of the extreme unreality of this scene, I still love to watch it and it's damn funny
Ya'll are talking about how no one heard this, I'm sitting here wondering how no one walking the opposite direction SAW this.
Not just the sound, how the hell there’s not a single stray bullet hit any random person there?
Not only that wouldn't anyone near john feel the penetration of a stray bullet hitting the wall XD
Me in middle school during recess: spits a chewed up ball of paper in a straw whilst among screaming kids, gets caught by a random supervisor across the field
Subway assassins: dozens of bullets go brrrrrr
😂
The people don’t react because John Wick takes place inside the Matrix 🙂
"Mommy, those men are shooting each other"
"Just keep your head down and pretend you don't notice, Timmy. They'll get what they came for and leave"
I read online that a "silencer" will still be quite loud, producing a large clicking sound, almost like a "clack". In this scene, a silencer would still most likely be heard by the civilians.
Im pretty sure you could still hear it across the subway
i also read online that suits that block mnay many bullets like in john wick wouldnt be possible
No. There are sonic silencers.
Just a passive aggressive dialog between two gentlemens
Let's be real, the only real problem with this scene is that no station is this quiet to begin with
It's cool how everyone in subway aren't disturb with the amount of ketchup that John Wick had in his face
I like how john kept warning the guy he could of made all those shoots he missed on purpose
Reading your comment makes me want to jump off a cliff and respawn near some hospital.
Firing a silenced handgun indoors is still loud enough to make ears ring so the people would have definitely noticed.
This is pretty much how we communicate in Detroit
Footage of 2 men in East Texas having a friendly conversation
The passerby thoughts were like "Act like I don't hear pft pft sound near me"
Cops near the subway: None of my business
Even tho the whole scene is kinda unrealistic, but this scene cold asf
Love how everyone in the John Wick universe that isn't a criminal or an assassin is just an NPC in a video game. Expecting SID 6.7 to appear at any moment.
i love how everybody walking near them just acts like they dont see whats going on😂😂
I heard a great example for the volume of a suppressor on a handgun. It's like lifting a phonebook over your head and slamming it down on a table. It won't blow your ear drums out but it'll still get someone's attention
i always think they invented a much much more advanced suppressors that actually silences most of the noise, that way i wouldnt get pull out of the immersion
My mother when guests arrive: Do whatever the fuck you want just keep it quiet!!!!
Me & my brother:
The fact NO ONE sees anything makes this part hilarious.
notice how john never actually misses, he just hits the pillars. the other guy misses.
"john wick 2 subway fight with realistic sound effects"
isnt even realistic
Imagine if they bumped into some random guy while shooting. "Oh sorry, didn't see you there" [continues walking and shooting]
my disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.
People talk about this scene but its a fun sequence. And im willing to suspend my disbelief and just pretend the John Wick universe has perfect silencers.
mad respect for the cameraman, he hold still the camera after getting shot
Glass is fully opaque in this universe. That's why no one in that train saw two people be murdered right outside.
In case you guys are wondering, the background soundtrack is from a main menu soundtrack of the game, Delta Force 1998.
m.ua-cam.com/video/pnXikKq1L6A/v-deo.html
probably the funniest yet still badass part of the movie, then the next part where the train moves away and he sees John on the floor with the 2 dead guys LOL
Idk why this scene is so funny to me
Because it's so unbelievably unrealistic it's funny to watch.
i like the theory that John Wick is just a character in a video game and the NPC's didn't freak out because he was using a silencer
Those sound effects are not realistic at all, that would still be loud as fuck, suppressed, not silencer
Those sound effects were taken from real guns lol but I get what you're saying.
yes a thin bullet proof suit is realistic but very silent guns isnt hmmmmmm
"Fixed". This guy definitely shot a hella lot of guns and it's probably an elite marksman
*pew * pew *pew
I just thought this whole scene was weird because Wick's primary weapons are a pair of suppressed 9mm's, and those things were still loud as hell, but for some reason they had the volume of squeaking mice here
Silencers don’t actually silence weapons. They simply make it safer to fire the weapon without hearing protection but it’s still really loud.
If that was realistic, that sound would still cause that whole room to panic
The 10 year old Austrian painter on his way to school fending off the 6th time traveller of the day:
I am convinced that John Wick is a Matrix prequel and all the NPCs don't react because they are programmed not to notice.
I feel like most people still wouldn't notice, they'd just hear strange noises and have no clue what they are
They would definitely know a gun was shot
The sound of the round hitting a concrete pillar in a room with echo would be insanely loud
fun fact that isnt fun: guns with silencer are still very loud, it's just a comfort tool so you can shoot without blowing your ears off
Comfort tool is not the word I'd use lol. It actually depends on the gun your using, the ammo and the suppressor. Some can be extremely quiet and some can only lower the sound by around 20 decibels.
The crowd is actually a buggy AI from Cyberpunk 2077
My main issue isn’t even how quiet it is. But the fact that literally no one even reacts to it. I don’t care how jaded, crime ridden or violent a society, if someone starts firing a gun near them, they would at least REACT. But here it’s just nothing. No screaming or running for cover, no shocked gasps, not even a single fucking turned head. I mean there’s suspension of disbelief, but there isn’t even like, a side glance from anyone
Apparently certain ammo types, supressor types and guns would still not be that quiet because in reality much of the supressor are really just it not a "silencer" like most videogame label as be. So truth be told, most of these would just get you to shoot without getting echo that far away to anyone outside of the range of the victim hear it which it means anyone near it can hear just as much as the victim being shot at.
Sniper Elite 5 did the silencer pretty well imo.
It's always funny seeing how much people underestimate how loud guns are, even with suppressors.
It's like 2 kids on a public place playing with Watergun lol.
I was visiting New York a few weeks ago and I was on the top walking path when it suddenly struck me where I was at. Was a cool moment to accidentally discover a movie scene location
Realistic sound effects would have those suppressors destroying people's eardrums. Not to mention everyone will be running away in panic too.
When you and your cousin are Fighting but Mum's nearby
Normal Day in New York Subway
People around like “ah here we go john wick i better act like norhing happen”
I don't know why this is the thing people got hung up on in these movies tbh. This is a world with suits that are completely bulletproof and literal invincible stormtrooper armor. Idk why a very quiet silencer is somehow out of the realm of possibility
Remember kids suppressors are only meant to stop the gunshot from being heard in others rooms, hence the name "suppressor". The gun remains audible with or without a silencer or suppressor
Silencers do exist. They may not silence the gun but they are called silencers. They are not made for other people to not hear the shot, they are made for the user to preserve their hearing.
@@TinkerTailorSoldier1 edited,thanks
Edit: said thanks
If it was realistic, it would sound like a really aggressive snap.
people forget that in crowded closed and crowded spaces like subways and malls loud sounds arent that loud anymore, sometimes i have to scream to my friends for them to hear me even if we are beside each other.
I’ve never watched a full John wick movie, never felt the need after just watching the best fight scenes on UA-cam. Do they ever explain why people literally have zero care in the world while walking past a dude literally murdering other dudes with guns? Is that just a norm in this universe?
So glad we have all these weapon experts and professional film critics in the comments
The crack from the bullet going supersonic would still be loud enough for the whole room.
That has to be the most oblivious crowd of people I've ever seen
People in California think silencers actually work like this.
That’s still not the craziest thing that’s happened in the subway
