It has a manual transmission! And that's just one of the crazy things on this TRD Off Road.

I absolutely LOVE my 23 TRD double cab with the premium and technology pkgs and the 6’ bed.
I drive only about 5-6K miles per year and at my age my Tacoma will outlive me.
I couldn’t agree more on the manual transmission. I bought my Taco in auto because my wife cannot drive a manual- but wish it was a manual. It makes the truck more fun!
Just a note, the LED headlights are an option on the TRD off-road. The off-road comes standard with headlights that have LED DRL, but not the full blown LED's. I would recommend opting for the full LED headlights (Toyota option code LG) as they are a significant upgrade from the regular headlights, and as a standalone option are just an additional $485.
Well I didn't request LED headlights in my 21 Taco TRD OR but it came with it. Guess I was lucky then! Oh.. Its a manual too!!! Waited 6 months.
@@janpur1417 Nice, I just got mine after about a 6 month wait (Army Green off-road). I found one that was close to what I wanted that would have only been a 4 month wait, but it didn't have the LED headlights, which was a must for me and the wife. The process of finding the right truck was actually pretty frustrating. Several dealerships I talked to didn't seem to understand the difference between the stock headlights with the little LED light strips on the edges and the full LED headlight option. I even had one dealership tell me that it wasn't even possible to get LED headlights at all... not a good sign when you know substantially more about the product than the person selling it.
Yup I’ve got mine reserved and realized this distinction after. Unfortunately mine will have the projector non-LED headlights. The aftermarket ones are like $1400 and you have to install them.. Definitely pay the $485 up front!
I have a 2022 Lunar Rock TRD Off- Road 4x4 manual tranny with led headlight upgrade and sonar upgrade in the rear. $39,505 incl. tax lic doc etc. Just got it last week after about a 4 month wait. Can't beat a manual in a 4 wheel drive. 4.30 gears vs 3.90 in the automatic. Preferred the old school key and manual parking brake also. Simple is always better! Nice video by the way! Aloha from Honolulu!
Awesome! Mark I'm told Hawaii is a Tacoma hotspot, is it true?
Thanks so much this video helped me decide to buy a 2021 toyota Taco Trd pro.
Keep up the good videos
TRD Off-road is an excellent trim level. It might be the best Tacoma trim level for the money. I'm slowly starting to mod and upgrade my 2021 Tacoma, but stock version is great as-is!
Thanks for the review! I have a 2021 Off road on order and should be here in 2-3 weeks. God Bless!
I have a '16 TRD OR 6MT Tacoma with a sunroof. 105,000 miles later it's still brilliant. Mine has USB plug in the rear.
I appreciate the prayer request and scripture verse 👍 and the Toyota is nice! Bought one like that about a month ago.
The Toyota with the 6-speed manual in my book has always been a must have in my book period. It's the only reason I would buy a Tacoma again. Forget about all of the bells and whistles all of these trucks now come with, including all of the technology hype. It's always been about the manual stick shift that really matters for all of us, who know the fit and the feel of that Tacoma 6 speed manual. It really gives you the intimate fit and feel of being a part of the vehicle itself. It's amazing and it's something one would never forget. It's kind of like driving a small MG sports car. FUN! Anyway, if Toyota decides to finally pull the 6-speed manual off of the market for good then a genuine icon is gone. Great video by the way and thanks for the tour. Have a great day.
Always Remember /// If Ya Can't Find Um /// Grind Um.
Amen bro nice to see you bringing the gospel at the end of your review yes he is risen and coming soon 🙏
Have our '22 on order through Koch Toyota... can't wait... Amen to sharing your faith brother...!
Just a heads up 2022 is built in mexico as 2021 is built in texas still
Love the Manual Transmission. Great Video, Content & Review of this sweet 2021 Tacoma TRD. "Psalm 90:12" "So teach us to number our days That we may present to you a Heart of Wisdom" 😎👍
Great to see a review on a manual
I agree as my '12 is a TRD sport manual and I love driving it 👍🏼
"He has risen indeed"
Lord TRD Tacoma Off-Road has risen on July 23rd, 2021??...... Do most of his disciples know how to use a Clutch ??
Just want to say “Thank you” for all the Tacoma review videos. Those really helped me make a decision 5 months ago, placed an order and picked up my TRD Off Road today!!! Love It!!! Also I got to go with “The last of the mohicans” for just the scenery alone. Movie was filmed in south west NC…beautiful area. Visit Chimney Rock State Park sometime….very nice. Thanks again Isaac, you do a great job….also love the prayer and bible verse at the end.
Gary it warms my heart to know my videos could help you, thank you so much for letting me know! You’re gonna love your truck. What color??
With Cement Grey going away and not available for 2022 I went with Barcelona Red. Army Green was a close second. Starting to add mods this weekend.
Just put a deposit on a 2022 army green. Only options I added were the led and basic technology package.
I have a suggestion for new vehicles owners...Install a window screen piece ( metal or plastic ) in between the front grill and the radiator in order to keep bugs and rocks damaging your radiator...Trust me, it makes a big difference...
Your welcome/ de nada
Just my 2 cents
So a window screen stops rock damage?
@@user-zy4cq6vo3q
It does if you figure it out how to properly installed...I did it to my 2012 brand new Toyota Corolla and I just sold it 6 months ago, with no radiator damage and even looked like a new one...
Great truck and a nice fully loaded one. Got a 2022 lunar rock on the way. Only 5 percent of vehicles sold today are equipped with the manual. People don't want them to die out but the truth is people aren't buying them. I have a manual GLI I bought brand new in 2020. Fun vehicle but Clutching on I70 in traffic sucks. plus its 2022 and we still don't have a way for remote start to be equipped from factory. its just as hard to find a place to install them too.
Ordered a new Tacoma 4wd trd double cab with manual trans. Deposit down and wait to get notified it has arrived at the dealership to actually drive it, buy it and take it home. Waiting....
Obviously dances with wolves is way better!!! Because it has Kevin Costner after all. Awesome video man I know exactly how you feel about driving a manual. Betcha we can make your truck go well over 350,000 miles!!!
I just buying yesterday my Toyota Tacoma 6 speed TRD 4x4 2021 black exterior and black leather interior with a sunroof
This what I have love it also 6ft bed with moon roof an leather seats … I have push to start automatic thanked God
These vehicles are going for a premium with a market adjustment, we currently are the #3 dealer on the eastern seaboard and even acquiring the manual is difficult
nice truck bro
The only thing I do not like in the taco is the interior color. Black is too dark for the eyes. Wish it was something lighter like my 97 4R bluish interior. So pleasing to eye. I got my LC's 2nd row carpet and placed into the taco (perfect fit) and it is bluish and is so cool to the eye! Looking for lighter color carpet to the front seats now. Oh.. I got 21 TRD OR manual.
God is good all the time. And so is your video.
This is almost the exact truck I have coming in next month
Awesome!
does the door quality has improved? as you said the 2019 model felt cheaply made.
i have a 2016, door as solid as they get. 110k miles. gonna put another 200k on it.. get the tacoma.
@@haroldbrown3452 what made you get a tacoma over a tundra
Colorado zr2 Vs Tacoma Trd pro video ?
I’ll do my best!
Check the payload on the sticker in the door area I bet it's 945 lb! I figured my truck would be 11 or 1200 pounds but nope.. 945lbs + mine doesn't have options I figured it would be a little higher because it doesn't have all the bullshit on it🤷
God bless!
The seats aren’t leather, they are what Toyota calls Softex. It’s more similar to vinyl, I think only the Limited has actual leather.
I just built a TRD off Road with leather on the Toyota website, I think it is available.
So those headlights are the OEM lights option?
Yes
@@AlphaShark thank you. I’m going to have to upgrade my head lights on my 22 Off road that’s coming next month.
Waiting for the Hybrid Tacoma with the truck not being manufactured in Mexico!!!
Its the same shit different country
I actually agree with you on this but bought one anyway for my girlfriend. What bothers me is that I don’t believe the quality control is as important as other countries. A lot of American made trucks are crap too. I will let y’all know when it arrives.
Yes is the best no sr or sr5 the off Road is the best
If you haven’t seen Dances With Wolves, something is wrong with you. It is a work of art. Watch it people!
I feel like in a serious off road situation you have enough to worry about without messing with a manual transmission.
Perhaps! But I love the transmission, I do understand how that could be difficult though.
I have a 2021 Tacoma TRD 4X4 OFFROAD Premium and end up on an extremely difficult trail. Two jeeps help us midway of the trail and burnef out the clutch and starter motor. A two hour turned into a 16 hour trail.
Never will I ever buy a manual transmission.
I grew up in South Africa where everyone drive manual.
Jesus Christ is coming very soon.
Regarding the dated interior. I’m used to BMWs and my 2021 Palisade is light years more advanced in functionality, intuitiveness, technology, camera quality, (the list is very long )than my 2020 Tacoma’s interior.
Your Tacoma will out live any of those vehicles
Last of the Mohicans.
Cards on the table. I have a 2021 taco trd off road on order. Should be in by early September, trying to get as much info as I can before I actually pick up. I stopped the video at the point of referencing two videos that you haven’t even watched. Please watch the videos that you actually referenced, thus reinforcing the whole commitment of time to watching your review. Both movies should have more of a say in your life than your opinion of a Tacoma. That said, all the best on your upcoming movie night.
What is the name of the color?
Cement grey
Great video - no mention of the driver's grab handle :)
Good catch! I need to bring that back
I don’t think the 3rd Gen has a driver’s side grab handle.
@@J.Young808 Haha Justin it doesn't, I used to have a "drivers side grab handle check" segment in all of my truck reviews because some had it and some didn't, Martin is referencing me bringing that back.
Heyyyy issac your famous
*Isaac
Good review. But the audio is absolutely trash. When you get loud it sounds very harsh.
I have been working on that.
@@AlphaShark all good brother. I’ve watched like 100 Tacoma vids so far since I’m looking to buy one. Yours are definitely some of my top videos of choice. Just hurts the ear drums when you have headphones in lol.
Dog is good 👍
This is Alijah from camp, just letting you know that I left my pillow in your truck.
Haha, I actually put it in the gym, must've just missed it, if your Mom comes up to help at all in the next couple of weeks we'll have it.
@@AlphaShark ok
Imagine spending this much money on a brand new truck that’s essentially from 2005.
What brand has a midsize truck better than this?
@@AlphaShark Toyota is the clear winner 😏
Clearly 250K buyers a year (class leading) don't mind at all.
Watch those two movies before you make another video!
Look at a second gen
Look man,.most people don't wanna pay top dollar for an ancient truck,.as cool as the second gens are ok. For one they have no power seats,.that enough to say no
gas tank is so small, gmp is worse like 14
It’s got a 21 gallon tank, that’s large for the segment. And I get 18.5 combined
If you live on flat land, 20 mpg is doable. If you live in hilly areas, 17 mpg is normal.
Stick is fun but....not in 5 mile traffic jam your left calf looks like Arnold Schwarzeneggers after all those shifts...lol
