Just got mine a month ago! 2021 Sr5 v6 4x4 Barcelona red, black wheels and running boards. Black and red interior. Turn key... almost exactly like the one in this video but different interior color! Absolutely love it and would recommend to anyone looking for a new truck. Great video!
That’s awesome! You have a sweet truck!! You must still get excited every day you walk outside and see it. Thanks so much for the kind words. More videos to come!
Mine looks just like this but it's a 2019 SR5 with a few little upgrades like a bestop camper shell, steel running boards and skid plate I do wish I had the better off road goodies like lockers but these prices are getting crazy
The SR5 is the best to get because it is basically a blank slate tacoma that you can build how you want and it's cheaper than the TRD's. You like offroading? you can throw a rear locker in that's better than the stock e-locker in the off road model that can be used in 2HI 4HI and 4LO not just 4LO like the off road model. Like the looks of the sport? You can just buy an aftermarket hood with a hoodscoop for relatively cheap and painted bumpers. It is the best choice for someone that wants to build it to a specific spec.
Simply one of the most none pressured, relaxed vehicle overviews over ever watched.. it’s between this or the Colorado.. I’m definitely leaning towards the Tacoma
I bought a 2022 SR5 brand new. I absolutely love it! Barcelona red,4 door, long bed. I knew I wanted a Tacoma, watched your video and that sealed the deal. I appreciate your no nonsense and informative approach ! I absolutely do not take offense to being called an SR5 guy because I am that guy. From scrapping with a trailer to hauling Hot Rod parts. I thank you for putting this vid out!
I just purchased a 2022 SR5 and I love it! Gals love trucks too! My first truck was a. Nissan and my husband drove it for years when I started driving a minivan for all our kids. With all the kids grown and gone, I had a SUV for many years but am so happy to be driving a truck again. My Tacoma totally beats my husbands F150 fully loaded. 🥰
Hey Brian! You really have an excellent manner for presenting this information - and you really get the balance right between being informative and personal. I like how you saunter along in a tone and tempo that is relaxed and mellow. Keep up the great work! Your video really helped me wrap my head around these topics. I will be checking out more of your content.
Got a 2021 SR5 V6 4x4 back in February and I went the SR5 route for exactly what you said: Its simple and its the perfect working mans truck. Another reason I went with the SR5 rather than the offroad or any other package above it was because I do plan on in the future turning it into a very capable offroad/workhorse of a truck and I would rather be replacing cheaper parts than replace "TRD" branded parts that I just paid a shit ton of money for if ya get what I mean? lmao but great video overall. I wish my buddy could've seen this before he got his TRD offroad a week ago.
Hey thanks for writing this comment I’m glad the video helped but I’m sure your buddy will enjoy what he paid for! You do get cool stuff for the money with the offroad edition!
Available led upgraded lights, Bilstein suspension, skid plates, Kevlar tires, rigged styling, crawl control, multi terrain select, multi terrain monitor, to name a few.
I just purchased a 2023 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road in Barcelona Red. I'm taking delivery of the truck today 3/31/2023. The color and stance make the truck look awesome. I own a 2003 Toyota Tacoma SR5 2-wheel drive that has 220,535 miles and it's still going strong today. Thanks for the great video.
In 2019 I was looking at the SR5 4x4 and the TRD Off ROAD 4x4 at that time there was only a 1675.00 difference in list price. The TRD had better features such as better lookin grill , better headlights and fog lights, better wheels and tires. better brake system, side mirrors, navigation, better audio system, better shocks and crawl control, power outlet. better looking seat covers. I purchased the TRD for me all the extras were well worth the price difference.
Same mirrors, same nav, same fog lights, no led, exact same brakes except TRD Pro, same stereo etc unless one upgrades std TRD OR with options. No point in crawl control unless you spend more than 65% if your wheel time in tough back trails and rocks or very steep terran. Lots of newer 21-23' TRS Offroads on used lots these days. To many things breaking and lots of extra weight too... unless 85% off owners soend like I said, a good deal of time off road, no need for more than this truck. Heck you dont even need to 4x4.
Larger diameter heavy duty rear diff, upgraded brake booster, rear locker, A-TRAC or Crawl Control, nicer wheels and tires, Bilstein struts and shocks, available manual transmission and so on makes the Off Road a better choice.
Caught this video. While not a Toyota truck guy, this afternoon we bought a 2022 SR5 2wd. Your video was very helpful and appreciated. Our daughter and husband had a Taco and traded it in for a Tundra. Their comments to us made us look hard at the SR5. So far, love it.
2021 SR5. I'm a turn key guy. My last key fob battery lasted 17 yrs before I had to replace it, no muss no fuss. Got the cement color because I also love cement for it's durability. I may still get a 4runner so I can stay reliable old school for the next 20 or 30 yrs.
Excellent video. I was considering an F150, or a Tacoma. I have a 2011 Tacoma base, extended cab with a 2.7L. I don't need all the off-road stuff. I have gotten to where I don't even care about that stuff anymore. This package is exactly what I need.
Facts about the 4Runner. My '97 still looks and runs like it did when new. Besides preventative maintenance like a timing belt and lower ball joints, the ONLY thing to actually go bad after 24 years was a fuel pump. No doubt in my mind that car will last another 24. Counting on my '21 Tacoma to do the same.
Brian I seriously love listening to your reviews. Maybe because I love Toyotas so much. But yes, you make allot of very nice points no matter what vehicle you review.
I have the 21 Tacoma SR SX package, 4x4 and V6. It was the best choice for me since I needed the 6 foot bed to fit my quad. It's really not missing much from the SR5 and I saved quite a bit of $.
I like the SR5 as well. Those are the Tacoma’s that have historically been the ultra reliable, several hundred thousand mile trucks. I especially like the cloth interior without the moonroof. I’ve had several vehicles with a moonroof and rarely use it. It also lowers the headroom in any vehicle with a moonroof. I like cloth seats because leather will scorch you in the summer and freeze you in the winter. Everyone won’t agree with me but that is my preference. I own a 2021 Tacoma TRD Sport because it was the only Tacoma I could find in the Army Green color. It had the LED light package and the Technology package. I would rather have not had to pay for these packages but that is what the truck came with. The TRD Sport suspension rides better than the Off Road version so I’m glad I could get the comfort. I don’t do any serious rock crawling or extreme off roading. so the crawl feature and terrain select would be useless, expensive options for me. I still go on dirt roads or two track trails to view the scenery, fish and hunt. The Sport has the same ground clearance as the Off Road packages and the ride is not so choppy and bouncy. I’ve never had an issue with my 6 ply tires on 17 inch rims while boondocking in the woods.
I just bought a SR5 Double Cab V6 Superwhite and I’m very happy with it. I don’t do off road maybe 1% of the time however I’m glad I watched this video
I love Tacomas. Have a friend and his is about 600k miles. He still pulls equipment, hauls stuff all the time, etc. Sadly, they do not make good simple cars like that anymore. Hope I can buy one sometime...
Thanx for the vid Brian.. I have, well I had, a 2001 Tacoma SR5. I gave it to my son when he was old enough to drive and he still has it. Just went over 200k and still going strong.. Thanx for showing the rear window shot! I've seen quite a few videos and nobody ever shows that feature!! lol I'm thinking about getting another one for myself. Either that or a 4Runner....cant make up my mind!
@@brianruperti I am originally from NJ but I live in FL now (since 97) and no I have never driven a 4Runner, I've sat it a few, but never drove one....
Very good review! I just recently bought a 2021 Tacoma TRD off-road and love it, no complaints First Tacoma I should add..also my dream truck. My truck color is white. I love white. The only other color I would of chosen would have been the cement as that’s a popular color as well.
New SR5 owner here. Perfect description of me. Work trunk on the weekdays and play truck on the weekends. Great for trips to the wholesale market on the weekdays then towing my boat on the weekends. Everything I want and nothing I don't need. 👍 I love the turn key over my wifes Hybrids Camry's key fob. I just came from a 2008 4Runner V8 SR5 with 200,000 miles on it. Hope the Taco lasts as long.
Just bought a 2022 sr5 last weekend. So far I absolutely love it. Most my buddies have TRD off-road/pro models, but I'm not a hard core off roader. Standard key is better imo. My 5.0 has the fob with push to start and I'm not a fan. Great video
2020 TRD Sport 4X4 DCLB, Super White. Love the key FOB. I turn it off when I leave the truck. Love the look of the Sport. Great on the Highway and actually some light off roading. I'm glad I paid a bit more for the Sport for the cosmetic extras I really like. However, the SR5 is great bang for the buck especially with that 10 way power adjustable seat. The SR and SR5 are great choices if you plan to heavily modify or customize the truck.
I can honestly say this video was instrumental in me purchasing my 2023 Tacoma SR5 just 3 weeks ago. Although the Barcelona red is nice, I decided to go with the magnetic gray metallic. It's a solid, beautiful truck and I love it! I've really enjoyed all your informative videos and hope to see more.
One of the reasons I bought my SR5 was because it has a turn key. Once i got inside the Toyota it was the best. I drove other trucks that had a button, or the key fob thing and i didn’t like it, I do like the automatic lock buttons on it, but The turn key is the best and always will be.
I bought a 2021 sr in January. Love it. Mine came with heated seats but no temperature switch to control the level. Only an on/off switch. It can get a little hot quickly. I replaced my steel rims/ wheels with a brand new trd off road set of wheels that were a take off. Much better handling at high speed
I’ve had a 2020 TRD Off road for over a year now and I still think I’d go with another one in the future. The off road just has a little more prowess and stance, I also use it on trails and forest service roads a lot. It can go almost anywhere in stock with maybe some upgraded tires.
Great vid Brian very informative. I am actually an SR or base model person ha ha! I like simple, low tech and less failure points to break. If Toyota still made trucks like my old regular cab with crank windows I wouldn't hesitate to buy one! But, new trucks like that don't exist any more and I needed more power than the 2.7L 4 cylinder so I wound up with a 2023 SR5 V6. Definitely prefer a turn key than a FOB. I was actually a little disapointed that for 2023 the SR5 comes with a FOB not old school key but it is what it is. I am all for tech that makes things safer or perform better but I feel like a lot of things like touch screens and FOBs are uneccessary and just over complicate things.
Turn Key - All the way!! 2019 SR5, 4x4, 4 door, long bed, Midnight Black Flake, Gray interior ... love it!! Tow a Pontoon 6 times a year, a 2k camper and trailer to compost. Handles the snow / Ice well in Minnesota. So glad went with Long Bed!
The SR5 Trail Edition is the best Tacoma ever! I just bought one and love it to pieces. Heritage Bronze wheels and Heritage grill, Goodyear Wrangler tires, 1" lift kit, locking rear differential, black seats with bronze stitching, removable locking storage compartments in the bed. Just perfect.
Good show! I have a 2017 black SR5 and your review was right on. I just wish I had the options that the newer trucks have but it’s nothing to lose sleep over. Love my sr5!!!!
I had a 2010 SR5 which I gave to my son when I bought my 2020 SR5. My 2020 is black with black badges and with dual cab and long bed. I love it and I like the turn key best. I don’t do much off road driving so I don’t need the TRD. These trucks are very dependable and a pleasure to drive.
Just bought SR5 XP White July 2022. Love it! Also, I prefer the ignition key over key fob any day and manual hand brake! I also do not like auto shut off and thankful that my Tacoma does not have it! Thanks
Great video. UA-cams are mostly focusing on trd off road but I live in Texas. Sr5 will be just enough to satisfy all your need. Less technology means less things to break.
Great video, the way you were educated about the subject, delivered the information clearly and in an organized fashion, very good job! I just bought a used 2018 SR5 4x4 that looks very similar to this 2021 model minus the electronic driver seat and dual climate control. It is white in color with black carpet and aftermarket black leather seats and aftermarket black wheels and larger AT tires. I didn’t plan on getting a newer truck but my 2001 Mazda B3000 started having more and more problems. I would have gravitated towards a more subtle color but this truck was a great deal and now that I have it I’m so glad I went with white. It’s super clean when it’s been washed and with my career being in insurance I use it to advertise my business. I also bow hunt so I wanted a capable, reliable pickup. I couldn’t see myself driving any other truck unless it was a tundra. Thanks again, I will subscribe.
Thank you for the kind words and for subscribing! Welcome to the channel! I am glad to hear everything worked out and you are enjoying your new truck! 🙏🏼
A truly detailed video by someone in the club, thank you.. I have a 2010 SR5 Base Metallic metal Grey, it's been a soldier even with that awful bench seat...the 2.7 eng & 5 speed is my last truck, too old to fool around with them anymore.
I bought a 16 sr5 a year ago and love its simplicity and reliability, its a great basic truck that gets between 22 and 25 mpg. To answer your question I prefer the key to the fob. Stay Safe out there
Your comments about 'SR5' people are accurate. I am one of them and love the simplicity of the SR5. Having said that, my first one was in 1991 and it was a lot simpler than my 2021 but a lot more complex than my 73' FJ40 Landcruiser. 🙂
I absolutely love my 2018 SR5 access cab in blazing blue pearl. I’ve told my wife many times I wish mine had the power rear sliding window. Kind of a pain to open and close manually and I use it a lot when the weather is nice. Great review of this awesome truck! 👍🏻
Have you done a video on the 2023 Tacoma SR5? I'm thinking about buying a Tacoma. I don't do off road. Need it for work & to pull a utility trailer. This was an amazing video you did. Appreciate it.
Man after watching this video I’m really considering a SR5, you’re review of the details was outstanding. I’m now leaning towards saving some hard earned money and moving down to this model. P. S. I’m a new subscriber after watching this video. Thank you for sharing.
That valance is for noise reduction, better cooling, and better gas milage. Notice the groves on the corners? You’ll notice those under the side mirrors and in the tail lights.
I went to the dealership last November, planning to get an SR5 4x4, but I left with the Off Road. The price was only about $2k more (dealer had a bunch of stupid, expensive and unwanted add-ons on both SR5s they had, and none of that on the OR). The OR had a better ride even on road. The OR has the rear locker. The OR’s black fender flares look way better to me. The resale value is higher on the OR. And I personally love not having to dig my keys out of my pockets every time I get in (not to mention hearing the keys smack against the dash when off roading). So yeah, I have to disagree completely... the SR5 is a good truck, but the OR is a better value and a better truck.
The reason why you see a lot of SR5 especially the older generation is that that’s all they made that there was no limited. There was no TRD pro back in 1997. Trd off-road was an option along with the sport, but that wasn’t until later.
Just got my 2022 Tacoma SR5 4x4 about a month ago. Absolutely love it! My last Tacoma was a 99 Prerunner back in 2003. Having to get rid of it in 2009 I've been wanting a Tacoma again ever since. Got the new one in silver with some aggressive stock running boards and I love it. Would like to get some of the black out package done and black out the fender flares.
@@blakeseckinger3280 Too much, haha. It was about 43k and I decided to lease to get the payments where I want. I'm also curious about the hybrid/electric options coming soon so I wanted to keep that door open for when the lease is over.
Nice review! I currently have a 2008 TRD sport 4x4 long bed, 225K miles, still runs great. Probably easily over 80k boat towing miles. Need a “new” truck for work, debated a paint job and fixing the dents on the 08, lol. Leaning towards 2022 SR5 long bed 2wd, I’m a fan of simple and reliable. Wish they still offered the 4.0, but researching the 3.5 performance, I will tow a lot. Excellent truck, even a pleasure to have, looking forward to another 225k + miles.
2023 TACOMA IS getting some engine improvements I've heard to compete in the mid-size space ...4 cylinder turbo no thanks coil spring rear goodbuy leaf springs
undoubtedly with dealerships charging full MSRP, in addition to loading up the vehicle with unneeded options, its a no brainer to stick with the SR5 🏁 Not to mention, I had gotten more insight watching your vids about the truck than the salesmen gave me when I picked up my 22' Taco GO FIGURE...Thank You
I have a 2019 SR5 with a full package upgrade. Pretty much have all the upgrades. Definitely a beautiful truck. My friend had a 2020 off-road and has had some issues already with it. I haven’t had one yet. I think it’s mainly because the SR5 is a work truck. It’s meant and built to last longer than the TRD. The only thing I’d trade mine in for is the TRD Pro. But as of now my SR5 isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
Yes the SR5 is great. Not sure why a TRD would have issues more than an SR5. They’re the same truck basically just one has upgraded suspension and tech. In fact the TRD offroad is built to be even more rugged than the SR5. What issues has he had?
I have a 2021 v6 sr5 and i love this truck. Im not really into offroading hence not going for the offroad but the good thing with sr5s is you can really mod it to become an offroad. Only real difference is the locking differentials. And yea youre right its a working mans truck for sure.
I guess I lucked out when buying my 19’ TRD pro in a manual. Key, basic 4x4 with none of this electronic crawl stuff and at a “good” price far cheaper than what they are charging now. Great review on this SR5 Taco. I’m with you, less tech, the better. 👍
Just went to the dealer this week. I was initially looking at those, and was told I'd have to most likely wait a year for a trd pro and more for the manual. Could have been them blowing smoke, but we went through the computer together.
Good review. Simple and to the point. I just got a 2023 SR5 SX edition in White and I love it!! Came from a 2022 Highlander XLE. Have a family of four so the Highlander made sense at the time. But with one kid a few years away from graduating high school, I figured it was ok to switch. I’ve always wanted a truck, especially a Toyota. I feel I made a good decision with the SR5 SX. It just looks badass and the features are simple, don’t have to worry about a bunch of shit eventually breaking.
I have a 2021 V6 SR 4x4 DC. More damn buttons than I'll ever need. I came from a 2002 SR5 and this is a space ship compared to my old Tacoma. Good work truck. Good for towing a boat and "good enough" for desert exploring etc. One thing I wish it had are the mud flaps. I like the turn key and the standard rims (less chance of theft). I have the white color with black Tacoma lettering/chrome 4x4 and V6 lettering on the tailgate. The red would have been my first choice in color but the white looks pretty sharp as well.
Awesome review man...I currently own a 2010 SR5 Access Cab 2.7L 4 cyl 5spd mnl with 205000 miles and 12 years of trouble-free driving. Only right front driver side baring assembly replaced, everything else is all original and truck is still in above average mechanical and body condition for the life. Currently waiting on arrival of my new 2022 SR5 end of month. Oh yeah...keeping my current baby, for being so loyal. The new truck will be my seventh new Toyota pick-up dating all the way back to my first in 1985, when Toyota trucks were simply named Toyota pick-up.
Just bought my 2021 Barcelona Red access cab TRD Offroad. I absolutely love it. I did NOT, however, buy it because it's a TRD Offroad. I bought it because it's red with a 6ft bed and it was pretty much all the dealership had. I wish it had running boards and, controversy, an air dam. My truck will NEVER go offroad. The automatic rear window is pretty tits too
To each his own...so I now own a Cement 21' SR5 DC SB made in Texas, tri-fold n boards, a few other things, the 6 is so much stronger than my 83' SR5 LB, but I will get used to it.
Very helpful. I just bought a2021 SR5. Barcelona Red 2WD ( Since I have A 4-Runner and a 2000 Land Cruiser that rarely go into 4WD). I replaced my grill. Added bed lights, ordered a bed mat, and replaced the grey cloth with Katskin black leather with red stitching. I love it but takes a while to get used to having a key again. Keep the videos coming.
I def prefer the keyfob. I didnt have an opinion until I had my first vehicle with push button start. After that I cant imagine having a physical key. Ive gotten so used to locking/unlocking the doors with my hand, and not having keys bang around while driving is also nice (especially for the TRD Offroad guys; having a keychain swinging around hitting your knees constantly would be annoying)
Was planning on buying a 2022 sr5 4x4 but was at the dealership this past week end and got a really good deal on a 4x4 limited with literally every option available for only 1500 more couldn’t pass it up just waiting for it to come in now can’t wait
I would love to own a Tacoma and 4RUNNER!! Love them both!! My second choice would be Highlander and Camry Third would be Tundra and Sequoia for the 5.7L V8 😁 That are my 6 choices of vehicle for Toyota
Brian, I own a 2020 SR5, Barcelona Red, 4X4, 6 Foot bed. When I ordered it in May, it took 5 months to get. They actually built came in first week of Sept. 2020 and arrived at the dealer on 16 Sept. My truck has only 11,500 miles on it. I'm trying to keep it like new. I still drive my 2000 Tundra that has over 480,000 miles on it. I like my new Tacoma. The only thing I wished, I would of ordered was the bind spot monitor. At first I thought it would be annoying having it come on and go off. And it was an option, and I did not know that it can be turned off via the panel switch. Had I know it, I would of ordered it. I see watching your video that they made the 2021 head light automatic and added two temperature controls. It a great truck, Dave Hamester
Thanks for the great review! I’m looking into purchasing a Tacoma so this is very helpful. Quick question, do you think the 2022 will be available within the next month or should I just pull the trigger on the 2021? Thanks mate.
You’re welcome and thanks!!! I don’t see the 2022s coming out in a month. I could be wrong. But I would pull the trigger and get going on your truck journey before prices go up even higher. Cheers!
Toyota announced cutting production by 40% so that won’t help things on getting the 22’s here faster. Unless, you’re of the folks waiting for a special color or edition, I would pull the trigger on a 21’ if you can even find one. Since they are in high demand and holding, even gaining, it’s value in some situations, you win either way. Right now though, any availability here the markups are just crazy!
I have a 2021 TRD OR 4x4. Love it!! But honestly if you are big into off roading, I would get the sr5 4x4. Its a blank canvas and can be easily turned into a beast of a truck. Add lockers + gears + suspension lift to a sr5 4x4 and thats all you need. If I could go back I would have been a little more patient and done a little research before buying and strongly considered the sr5 4x4. Oh well, still love my truck and NO REGRETS
I wish my 2023 Sport had a turn key and not the fob. It’s a small thing and I love all the simplicity the Tacoma has which is one of the many reasons I bought one.

Yessir !! I just bought at sr5 2018 this Saturday can’t wait to mod it
The SR5 is a good value but, the best Tacoma is the one that meets a buyers needs.
Very solid point 💪🏼
I agree, the sr5 is a great truck and luckily Tacoma’s are easy to customize and make your own, personally I went with a TRD off-road
@@sucha603boy so did I! I actually made a review on my offroad. I love it.
Off road trd 4x4
For me the Cacoma is the TRD Pro.

Like what?
Available led upgraded lights, Bilstein suspension, skid plates, Kevlar tires, rigged styling, crawl control, multi terrain select, multi terrain monitor, to name a few.
I just purchased a 2023 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road in Barcelona Red. I'm taking delivery of the truck today 3/31/2023. The color and stance make the truck look awesome. I own a 2003 Toyota Tacoma SR5 2-wheel drive that has 220,535 miles and it's still going strong today. Thanks for the great video.
Hey thanks and congrats!
Well that’s a solid argument for the offroad’s case! That’s why I went with it as well 🤭
Same mirrors, same nav, same fog lights, no led, exact same brakes except TRD Pro, same stereo etc unless one upgrades std TRD OR with options.
Thanks for watching!
2021 SR5. I'm a turn key guy. My last key fob battery lasted 17 yrs before I had to replace it, no muss no fuss. Got the cement color because I also love cement for it's durability. I may still get a 4runner so I can stay reliable old school for the next 20 or 30 yrs.
Nice!!! I dream of owning both myself
Absolutely agree with you. SR5 is like the benchmark not for the industry itself but for Toyota too. Its just sooo perfect.
👌🏼
Excellent video. I was considering an F150, or a Tacoma. I have a 2011 Tacoma base, extended cab with a 2.7L. I don't need all the off-road stuff. I have gotten to where I don't even care about that stuff anymore. This package is exactly what I need.
Thank you so much 🙏🏼. I love SR5. More content coming!
Nice!!! Thanks for sharing that. Do you live in the rust belt?
@@brianruperti no, I'm in southern California. No rust issues here. Although I would definitely recommend fluid film for rust belt Tacomas.

Brian I seriously love listening to your reviews. Maybe because I love Toyotas so much. But yes, you make allot of very nice points no matter what vehicle you review.
Hey thanks for the kind word! I love Toyotas too. I can’t wait to get more content out for you to enjoy!
I have the 21 Tacoma SR SX package, 4x4 and V6. It was the best choice for me since I needed the 6 foot bed to fit my quad. It's really not missing much from the SR5 and I saved quite a bit of $.
Nice!!
I have a SR with the SX package 4wd. Black and all blacked out. I like it better then the SR5.
I didnt know u could get a V6 in the SX. Those are nice models too.
Big time
I like the SR5 as well.
Hey thanks so much for sharing this! I have the army green as well
I just bought a SR5 Double Cab V6 Superwhite and I’m very happy with it. I don’t do off road maybe 1% of the time however I’m glad I watched this video
Congrats! Super white is sweet! They actually mix the clear coat into the paint! And thanks so much for watching 🙏🏼
I love my 2018 SR5. Just got it used. Loving it so far.

Very good review! I just recently bought a 2021 Tacoma TRD off-road and love it, no complaints First Tacoma I should add..also my dream truck. My truck color is white. I love white. The only other color I would of chosen would have been the cement as that’s a popular color as well.
Thank you! That’s a nice truck you have. The white offroad looks cool because of all the black accents on it. Enjoy it!

Super white is awesome! I love the fob too. And I agree about them being great starters to modify heavily and save $$$
This made my night! Thanks so much for watching. MGM is a great color. Congrats on it!
Lol. You had a choice? I'd go with whatever they have available.
I can only find ice cap white in a 250 mile radius for new SR5's its insane. @@sharkskin3448
One of the reasons I bought my SR5 was because it has a turn key. Once i got inside the Toyota it was the best. I drove other trucks that had a button, or the key fob thing and i didn’t like it, I do like the automatic lock buttons on it, but The turn key is the best and always will be.
Nothing like a turn key truck
Excellent review amigo ,
Thanks 👍
I bought a 2021 sr in January. Love it. Mine came with heated seats but no temperature switch to control the level. Only an on/off switch. It can get a little hot quickly. I replaced my steel rims/ wheels with a brand new trd off road set of wheels that were a take off. Much better handling at high speed
Nice ride and good choice on the mods!
i have a sport with a push button, nice for keeping in your pockets and not swinging around but at the end of the day I do like a turn key
Same
I’ve had a 2020 TRD Off road for over a year now and I still think I’d go with another one in the future. The off road just has a little more prowess and stance, I also use it on trails and forest service roads a lot. It can go almost anywhere in stock with maybe some upgraded tires.
I have an offroad as well and agree!
So can the SR5
Just got mine last year. 2018 SR5 V6 4x4 in white, everything you said is basically why I went with the SR5. Don’t need all the bells and whistles.
Nice rig!
Thanks for watching! SR is great
Turn Key - All the way!!
Nice rig! Well used at that. Long bed is awesome. Cheers Minnesota!
Congrats!
Good show! I have a 2017 black SR5 and your review was right on. I just wish I had the options that the newer trucks have but it’s nothing to lose sleep over. Love my sr5!!!!

Get a long bed my guy
Hey I have to say I agree with you that’s why I own one as well!
I agree with you also I would prefer the off-road instead the sR5 I have my 22 to trd off-road black edition
I was debating between an SR and SR5 snd this video definitely sold me on the SR5. Thank you.

I would like to see an SR5 Access Cab with a manual transmission. That would be my vehicle of choice!
That would be great!
The reason why you see a lot of SR5 especially the older generation is that that’s all they made that there was no limited. There was no TRD pro back in 1997. Trd off-road was an option along with the sport, but that wasn’t until later.
Sr5 is actually nice but IMHO the trail version is best. It comes standard with the rear locker and much cheaper than a trd or off road
How much is the msrp on that, that bronze looks slick

I have a 2019 SR5 V6 I like everything about this truck I use to own a SR 5 tundra 2007 for 12 years

Not judging but just curious why you got a top trim truck without crawl control and etc.

Awesome truck and thanks for watching!
I agree with you and that’s a great upgrade! Ralley Armor makes really good mud flaps by the way. Better than factory might want to check them out.

Right now though, any availability here the markups are just crazy!
sr5. Turn key. Barcelona red. 2018. Just purchased it. First truck. First Toyota.
Welcome to the family!!!
Toyota should have kept the 4.0.
Thank you for sharing!
I just got a 2023 TRD Sport 4x4 and I wish it came with a turn key.
I just bought an SR5 on Halloween from Johnson Toyota and love this truck 👍👍👍
Congrats!!!
Good video! My 22 has key, I like the key, also has the turn signal in the side mirrors,
Very nice!
I wish my 2023 Sport had a turn key and not the fob. It’s a small thing and I love all the simplicity the Tacoma has which is one of the many reasons I bought one.
I believe only the manuals have a turn key now for 23
@@brianruperti I love my truck but a manual would make just a bit better
