Professional Painter. How To spray spray Paint Like A Pro

- Apartments requires you to paint fast pace so you have to do at least one color change a day to make enough because too many companies lower the price. But this is how a pro sprayer in apartment do it. That is Me
*Like and comment * and also leave your thoughts on how I should get better
I would never hire you. Learn how to paint by a real professional
This is a landlord special job for sure. I've changed out plenty of fire sprinkler heads in apartments because they've gotten overspray or completely painted right over them.
I waited 11 minutes for that pro guy to show up and he never did.
ouch
I know right
Sometimes professional means I want my house to look perfect. Sometimes it means I want this apartment painted as quickly as possible and don't want to pay much.
The fact that he is actually wearing a respirator is already a step up from most of the "pro" videos I see on here
Oh, you haven't been told? All Mexicans are now pros at anything
Lol right
Me personally only like spraying cabinets doors and exterior for interior I still used a roller and a brush no masking straight lines free hand old school
Same thats really the only way unless its new building or being completely remodeled
@@handduggraverdronline fine finish walls youre gonna want to spray, anything orange peel or below grade 3 ill roll and cut by hand, but anythning finer than that ill spray to not get stipple and get a smooth finish
Now this is how it’s done from the op. This video isn’t “pro” work. It’s a guy with a hose.
You got any video s to show
No way possible there isn't overspray on that trim.
There should be
Mex don’t care
How???? He's blocking it with the took
Terrible it will be easier just to cut in n roll I could roll it under 10 minutes n cut in about 15 minutes 30 minutes at most n not have spray on ceiling or trim
“Like a Pro” 🤣🤣🤣There’s going to be overspray all over the place in that house… He’ll I can get overspray all over everything like he’s doing. It’s Not hard to make a big mess like he’s doing… now if the doors and all of the trim has to be painted afterwards anyway then 👍🏻 I understand but if the doors and trim are supposed to be finished already, then the homeowner’s going to blow a gasket whenever he or she walks in and sees that nice paint job… 🤬🤬🤬🤯🤯🤯
Nice, we use same technique but with cardboard instead of the metal plate.
It leaves a wider gap for the ceiling to look like a straighter cut in. You can actually buy the cardboard cutouts right next to the metal shield.
Allows for a lot less seeping past the non-pliable metal.
Gross
Good job..much different painting apartment complexes than houses..I do the same..but instead of buckets I use a small wand and take the wooden handle off the shield and screw it onto a larger pole ,the long arm..YELLOW ONE..BIG..then I don't have to hold it into place..I just wedge it..I have 2or 3 other shields with no handle for doors n window and small areas..and we use carpet scraps..about 4x4 square to wipe shields off onto..so when we go unit to unit shields get placed on carpet..carpet folds up and can carry effectively..stay thirsty my friend
fantastic system, i paint complexes as well. Trying to paint faster with these 2 tones (grey wall, white ceiling). But how do you connect your shield to a pole? Wish I could see your process
oh wait I get it - you jam your shield into the ceiling with a really tall pole
@@thndrstudios2863 yes sir.. correct..are you doing new drywall or repaint?..I've done alot of both and can make you go so fast it will make this video look like slow motion
@@thndrstudios2863 oops..you may have gotten it wrong..there are different types of shields..the shield you need has an attachment that screws into the pole..then jam it to cieling..if your doing NEW apartments..you can simply use the large cardboard on jobsite..the carpenter crew boss will gladly give it to you..it's there trash from the packageing that the doors and cabinet come in..if there is none available yet..on the outside of the building there will always be scrap piece of facia tin laying around..if it ain't bent it's a good spray shield..you can modify it to use in place of a shield..I'm currently doing REPAINTS on apartments but have posted 2 video on my channel..one explains how to paint doors at 1 per minute..the other shows how to paint a room in 4 min with limited over spray..will try to get one posted tomorrow that shows the yellow pole / shield trick with modification for faster results
@@painterken2542 I just subbed to your channel. I'll take a look at your vids and tips. Thanks
Oye , You got over spray on everything. The ceilings and trim Como es un “good job”
The property manager ask for the ceiling to not be painted so it doesn’t look as sharp. However trim and baseboard is done afterwards. Apts don’t pay very much so this is how a pro does it.
No switch plates or electrical plates removed...hmm...to me, that's a problem. Either tape them over, or remove them, and spray around them. Other than that, great job!

Coating the spray shield with tape and paper, just pull off when that side is saturated. Saves you for having to clean it.
Looks good my friend, some people don’t understand that apartment painting is different than house painting, how many color changes can y’all do in a day??
It really depends how big they are and if cabinets are being painted and if repairs are being done ✅ probably 1 to 2 a day 👍🏼
I used to paint apartments, so easy. Only thing I would suggest is get an extension for your gun
@@chrisbattaglia1436 with extensions you don’t have that good control of gun.
@@chrisbattaglia1436 I am assuming it is harder to use an extension if you are holding a shield versus masking off with tape.
@@chrisbattaglia1436 just got my first extension. Life changing! I only use it in apartments where ceiling and walls are the same color!
Shielding an entire apartment like that is not easy... $600 to spray 3 bedroom / 3 floors w Grey walls and White Ceiling in MY Market. 5 Hour Prep Time MINIMUM (Mask off the Ceilings + Outlets + Spackle) - 18 Hours to Roll ... You do the math. This is quick, but it's good for the owner and it's good for the laborer. I'd say it's an equal exchange.
When people want flawless, they'll pay flawless. And I bet it still turns out Great.
As do ours, But we definitely do mask off windows lol! 6 min mask / window = 25 min to mask off windows 1.15 hour to unscrew / tape sockets... a little extra does help! Lol GREAT JOB
Sadly here in the Dallas market. This “new companies” are killing the business with the same prices since 10 years ago. This is the only way to do it in order to profit $240 in a 2x2 980sqf
Shielding an apartment like this takes a lot of strength. I completed this whole apt in roughly 7 hours with a helper
YOU DEFINITELY WANT TO CHECK OUT MY NEW VIDS CHECK OUT HOW TO CONVERT STANDARD SHIELD TO LARGE..also doors
Is funny how so much people is complaining about switch plates, baseboards and shield on ceiling.
The average pay in Dallas in 2021 is about $50 per the entire apartment.
Painting apartments is about speed because is so cheap, not like a house where you pay atention to detail.
$350 per room in a house vs $50 for the entire apartment.
Note: apartment complexes always provide paint, but you buy your masking materials.
A profesional apartment painter can spray up to six apartments per day.
That is rediculously low. Have more respect for yourself and charge a lot more!
@@TobiasRaphael1 thats why apartment dont pay shit because guys like him will go do it for a 100 dollar profit
@@chancenebeker4481 they’ve ruined the market for the career painters. If most painters refused to do it for that price, property management would have no choice but to pay market price! The music and the painter is top notch. Keep it up amigo
I'm confused as to why he puts in so much effort protecting the trim but clearly sprays right on it a good amount of times. Also spraying right over all the electrical outlets and switches.
Electrical outlets are cover up with tape. Is hard to see but they are. Trim Is painted after with a brush and it looks perfect. Being able to dominate a sprayer with shield takes a lot to perfect. This is the best you’ll see my friend :-)
@Superior Property Restoration is not that hard to clean a window from a little dust. Most outlets get replaced
@Superior Property Restoration I wonder why your hateing on this young man..oh..I see your a business and trying to justify your over priced work while attempting to keep folks from learning how to do this type of work..
Probably because your not a painter

Great video, a real pro!
👌🤣🤣🤣
Dudes a beast he did that whole room in less than 12 minutes 👍
Next level spraying on UA-cam my lad
Everytime he lets off that trigger like that he's making the job worse
He don't go full tilt boogie like I do but gotta start somewhere.. triggering on and off does create excessive over spray because it don't hit the wall full pressure..also paint thickness will deviate..but hey..textured wall and apartment is good start
Love it!!! Keep it up and post more before and afters 🙌🏽😩😱🙌🏽👌🏽
Looks good bro 👍
I hope switch plate and receptacles got covered or replaced.
I just clean them seconds after I’m done spraying. Time is money and replacing them is a waste of time haha
@@alexanderfuentes4590 Sure but it gets inside the outlets.
@@MSeroga its 2021. Outlets have guards in them now. And I'm with him. Time is money. Its nothing to go back and wet wipe overspray. Vs covering everything. Lame. Lol
Me personally in small rooms i rather use a brush and a 15 inch roller....i wouldn't be fair off time wise in rooms were you have to tape up alot ....i like sprays they good and fast but i like them on larger walls ceiling
Trust me this is a low quality paint job
He might be doing the best that he can, and might've been told to paint right over the Faceplates...which is something that I never did, when I painted. We were told to take all faceplates off, paint, clean the faceplates, and then put them back on. We believed in being totally professional! But, yeah-this does look like a low-quality paint job, with the faceplates being painted over like that. It's tacky, to say the least!
Great work, thanks for the info
Just started my painting business. I got some apartment accounts and I've been trying to figure out how to do them fast, my guys were rolling and cutting with brush, it takes way to long, I'm loosing money. your videos gave me some good ideas.. Can you show how to mask floors fast? Thank you!
You need better workers 😅
Wish i was that good with the shield im getting there thou
Dude has major skill with the sprayer
No he doesnt....too many start stops...little to no finesse and most importantly no pattern....
Right.. I do this when we're spraying all white semi and flat you can pull it off but you still have lots of touch up.. it's what you're willing to do if you want to mask or shield.. kind of depends how I'm feeling and if it's doable..@@nothingsimpostleble1593
We also used to mask baseboard and door cases and shield the ceilings
Great video
Would you make a video on how you do the trim and doors and baseboards?
Also, about how long does it take you to mask off the floors like that? I've been using 12 inch paper around the border, and putting down drop cloths everywhere else.
I'm new to apartment painting, and struggling to get them done fast enough. Any help would be much appreciated.

These are the kind of paint jobs I do for my Section 8 rentals
I painted in apt. complexes and I could roll it faster and with less mess and cleanup and preparation.
Where did you get that large trowel to use as your guide for overspray?
Is a painting shield. You can find it at Lowe’s, Home Depot or Sherwin Williams. Very useful for this kind of jobs
There's a reason why professional painters do not use a spray gun unless it's a certain area.
what are you talking about, everyone uses a sprayer
@@j.johnson8360 depends on the area and the job. In europe, its still somewhat rare
Where are you located and what are your rates? Good job apartments want quick turn unauthorized over quality unfortunately.

We know you’re tough. Nothing to prove.
It would be better if you use a small extension on your gun and a longer pole handle on your shield,
I'm thinking a "pro" would remove switch and outlet covers.
Or just replace them once the make ready crew comes in?
It is a possibility but folks are so negative
@@rhrh5145 I would think scraping the paint off the outlets and switches would take more time than removing the covers and taping.
But you're correct, you could pay an electrician to replace the switches, outlets and covers. It's just money. :-)
It's because they get upgraded and replaced..a crew will come in..replace lights / switches/etc..carpet flooring usually also..then cleaning crew comes in..AFTER that is done they go in do touch up marks on wall finger prints etc.. makes it possible to get things done at very low cost..a spray man /painter that is kept busy painting gets alot done..same with electrician..they can put on/ remove those faster than painter..seems silly because there are only 20 things in that apartment..but there are usually thousands on a large job
I'm thinking if you don't know why you probably shouldn't broadcast the smart remark about him being a pro..if he didn't know what he was doing he wouldn't STILL have a video up
@@rhrh5145 so much negativity..but the could not produce the same quality or quantity to save there life

Touch up for sures and over spray on windows, zoom in to the windows and trim.
Is it me or do I see over spray in the ceiling ?
If I inspected that room,I would find overspray EVERYWHERE!!!!!😢
So good! How long is that edger?
Nope. Start stop gun control is off. The build up on the blade thing will be all over the ceiling, trim. The window wasnt masked or the door. Might be the norm in Turkey
A spray whip will help control that spray line.
Most people here have never painter anything besides maybe their nails judging from the comments, great work dude

@@rickysaldana9853 absolutely everyone has different skills I can shield a shoot trim pretty effectively.. but cutting in with a 4inch brush has always been easy for me.. one of my videos on my channel shows that also. The link I sent of exterior no plastic or tape was used at all.. was all shield.. or cardboard from doors / packaging.. etc.. just keep in mind wind direction.
