Father and Son family businesses is what the world is missing. We need more families like yours
i was just typing something similar and then i realized i am german, more likes to you sir.
People who take pride in their work and are good at it are a giant breath of fresh air in this world.
The father son team is so wholesome. Also so nice to see people take pride in their work.
I learned to paint from a guy that had 40+ years experience. Taught me a lot of these tricks. He always told me that you can paint for 20 years and if you don't learn how to do it right you'll never be a painter.
White on white jobs always gave me the "staredown" migraines from inspecting work in differing light situations in each room. I don't miss those jobs...nice work gentlemen.
I always find myself back here for the absolutely genuine, positive attitude and incredibly supportive family dynamic. Your dad loves you bud!
I Love my Dad too🙋🏾♀️
Must be nice.
I hired a professional independent painter in preparation to sell my parents home. I got to know him as a friend and truly admired his work and craftsmanship. Your video allows the audience to appreciate some of those trademarks. It does take time and pride to achieve your level, as you and your son illustrate.
Well done.
So true I agree
Agreed.........I actually took on the task of getting my mother-in-law's two bed house ready for the market after she passed. Between the garden, ripping out old wardrobes cupboards etc filling holes and gaps everywhere and painting the whole place, it took me six weeks!
Good thi g I was retired.....
I’m a trainer by trade. I appreciate your cadence, delivery, and attention to detail. You are not just excellent at painting but also training. Thank you, Sir.
yep
Dude, you’re an excellent teacher! Clear and concise, no unnecessary dialogue. Well done!
Yes...the best teacher I have seen in construction videos.
yep
I've been painting for years, not as a job but just in places I've lived. I really enjoy it and I'd tell you I was really good at it. Proud. But this video just goes to show how BAD of a painter I actually am. Thanks for the video!
A tip about the spray can texture is when done and you still have some left in the can , tip it upside down and spray. It cleans the texture out so you can use it later, if you don’t clean it the texture drys and the remaining can will be useless. ✌️👍 Great work men. Reminds me when I broke my son in 👍 as they learn they start moving quicker and before you know it old dad becomes the helper lol 🤣🤣.
Cobbler's kids... take a day and fix up your paint so you don't hate it. You do such amazing work! Give yourself a treat and live in it too. ❤❤❤
The best thing about a small cut bucket is that if you spill it there is a lot less to clean up
I am always baffled by how a simple coat of paint just completely transform the place. Great job guys!
i repainted my condo. originally had antique white which was okay. i repainted with a much whiter white (but not glaring). it really opened up the place, much less dingy.
I'm like Paul, always to busy to paint my house, but it has loads of 'strikes' on the baseboard and trim.
I had a client almost in tears once after painting her bedroom for the first time in what looked like 20 years. She couldn't believe how much happier it looked
That Marquee can’t be beat! My dad was a professional painter, and he taught me early on to never use cheap paint. Even the paints he used back in the ’60s & ‘70s is not even the same paint it was back then. I always kid around that I learned how to properly use a paint brush before I could walk. Now I’m teaching my grandkids to paint. Wish my dad was still around to watch your video. I’m sure he would critique it 😄
Great paint ain’t cheap!! Just did a few doors with Benjamin Moore regal semi-gloss the result was phenomenal. Such a pleasure to work with. The marquee is definitely a good paint for a box store purchase.
I think Behr Marquee and Dynasty are better than any paint at Sherwin, including Emerald.
No idea why I'm watching this. I don't even own a house.🤣🤣🤣
Too funny.😂
😂😂😂😂.. one day bro .. one day
Lol knowledge is power player
Omg 😂same shit happened to me 🤣🤣🤣🤣 your comment is too funny 🤣🤣🤣
Painted over the Outlets? Jordan is ready to become a landlord!
I laughed at that. I wasn't entirely sure if he was joking or not.
Paul admitted he was joking earlier in the comments
I put a plastic shopping bag around my roller and brushes if I need to store them for a bit and put them in the refrigerator,,they'll stay wet for atleast a week.
Me too!
Same. Except I don't put them in fridge. I live in Florida. I can bag a roller and it will last a week if I don't use it. If I use it here and there it'll last a while. New paint keeps it fresh.
You can even lightly dampen it with bv water to make it last a bit longer
I use cling film
Must not have a wife lol
I use disposable shower caps (buy a package if 100 for $1.25) to line my paint tins, then throw away when you're done. If you're not done, just undue the shower cap, and it closes itself over the brushes to keep it good until the next coat
love your channel, quick hint though, i painted for years and watching him work that roller on the wall and pushing down on it i just wanted to reach in and say, "hey let the paint do the work". When you are pushing on it to get it to cover then you need more paint. The roller needs to stay wet and when you find yourself pushing down redip the roller. Just gotta keep it wet... Love seeing father and son work together like this...
Your paint roller cleaning tips are brilliant, and I didn’t realise that a double arm roller frame even existed.
It’s also great to see a father and son team working so well together.
Ain't it?!💖💕💖💕💖💯🫂
Yeah I was suppose to be a sheetrocker and taper ,as my father was the best in my area for many decades….but we couldn’t work together..didn’t know father son construction without arguing was possible.
Ditto on that father son thing.
Did not expect to learn that much about something I've DIY'd pretty well for years. Thank you.

I had an old timer (now I am :)) teach me all those tricks. What I really learned with the tapping of the brush instead of wiping on the edge is that it will hold a lot more paint and you can cut a way longer edge with no drips.
Tap everyone, don't wipe- at least when brush painting. :)
One of the best things he taught me was covering stains. Use shellac. It covers everything.
Lol you will drip. I'd love to show up on anyone's job and point out the hacks. I'm the damn Gordon Ramsey of painting. UA-cam is full of hacks. The trade is full of hacks and the damn people are lied to and scammed by you hacks.
Everything except markers - use oil base for that
@@conradcoolerfiend hate to tell you but shellac is a way more effective primer idol cover up but you need alcohol to clean up but white pigmented shellac once you get a hold of it you'll never go back to just oil base primer don't get me wrong it's a good primer and I'd rather use that if I'm going to roll out a whole room and shellac because that can eat your liver
I had an old timer (probably trained during or right after WW II) teach me stuff like that, but he also showed me a herringbone-pattern for brushing the walls instead of using a roller or spray. It remains my favorite wall texture, and for small rooms like kitchens and baths, it doesn't really take all that much longer.
O
I love how you two interact!! Jordon is so respectful and kind in his responses. There’s a lot of love between both of you :)
Paul, Jordan - really enjoy your videos. Your use of a metal pail for cutting in is a suggestion I will use. However, instead of a nail on the side of the brush, I glued a small magnet inside the pail at a point where the brush's ferrule will contact it just below the crimp. The brush is held in place very well and doesn't jostle around. In addition, because I only paint occasionally, this allows me to store my brush in its original cover between uses without the nail in the way. Thanks for the excellent content. Keep up the good work.
The paint job at Paul’s house illustrates the saying: “the cobbler’s children have no shoes”. 😂🤣😂
You are the only guys that make 'watching paint dry' enjoyable!
I'm a 5 th generation painter. Worked with my dad for 15 years. Got to the point where we knew every single move the other person was gonna make next. Like one mind for 8 hrs a day 5 days a week. He passed away 4 years ago. It's nice watching videos of a father and son that obviously have the same type of relationship. Appreciate it while you have it. It's also nice that they do everything pretty much exactly the same as my family! My dad always said, half jokingly, a damp Rag is a painters best friend. But damn you and your behr paint!!!
Might even start using some of these videos for helping to train my new employees
Love these tips! I've sure some of the commenters have already said it, but I want the "satisfying video" where you give back to your OWN house to fix those annoying paint mistakes on the stairs, spindles and refinish the bottom of the front door. You work so hard for other people, put some of that in for you and your own family bro!
This is one of the best how-to videos I have ever seen! After struggling with paint messes and cleanup this was a delight to watch. Both you and your son know how to present material and still make it enjoyable. Thanks so much!
Yikes.
@@mikethepainter why yikes? Lol...random.
Haha
In my late 70's, I really envy Jordan's reflexes!!!! I only "wish" I still had the "recovery" he does!!!! I hate to say this, but I remember when I "ustacould" do a lot more than I can now, and it really P*$$e$ me off that I can't any more!!!!! Getting old ain't for the weak. Having to re-evaluate and adapt SUCKS!!!!
I hate to paint but after watching this video I now know why. Your tips are spot on and I've been doing it pretty much the wrong way. I love the 18 inch roller with support on both sides. Thank you for your tips!
Tip--when using texture from a can for smallish patches, use a circular motion, instead of back and forth. Avoids striping. If using a hopper on a large area like a wall, spray diagonally. Reverse it if you need a scond pass to match surrounding walls.
great tip!
For your bag lined bucket, drill a couple holes around the perimeter just below the rim. It'll help let the air out as you pour paint into the bag. All my outdoor trash cans have 1/2" holes drilled in their bottoms for the same reason, obviously the bottom of a paint bucket would be a bad idea but the rim above the fill line isn't a bad idea at all.
Great
That's actually not a bad idea.
@@ManlyManStuff My inside waste cans have holes in them for that reason as well!
I'm enthusiastic about this hole idea, yet I thought, might stick some tape on it before knocking off!
Holes drilled into the bottom of TRASH cans?...what about ants who decide to visit your trash?...and then elsewhere.
You guys are some of my favorite to follow. I am a wife who loves to remodel my home by myself, have done everything from electrical to build cabinets and paint, so considering how real your videos are- they have helped me and give me true quality knowledge that helps get me through certain jobs. Thank you for your time doing these videos.
Our pleasure Alisa and thx for the support 👍
@@StudPack hi
can you tell what brand is the roller ? or a link ?
thank you
@@TheMakyato
It is a Purdy roller and pole. I am a professional painter and that is all I use; also Purdy brushes. If you clean them out right after you’re done using it they will last you for years.
I love the attitude about cleaning the roll being therapeutic. That´s a big thing nowadays when everything should be fast and efficient (at least here in Finland it´s like that). When I studied carpentry a couple decades ago, one of my mentors used that attitude a lot when doing something slow and plain (but important for success in final result). It makes the end result AND the mind of a maker last longer in time.
So Modest w the roller! I've used a roller and it's not easy at all to avoid drips, spray and nasty roller marks. He makes it look so easy - a real pro. 😍
You guys keep saying you're not professional painted but it looks pretty professional to me!
For anyone just starting to do painting or other projects these videos are gold !
Professional tradesmen, professional job results, professional tutorial/ presentation, outstanding helpful tips, professional video production.
A rare FIVE STARS in all five aspects. Who said there was no such thing as superheroes?
I have been a professional painter in Finland for about 22 years... It's always fascinating to watch other professionals do the same job as you. There are many differences, but it's also because the houses and all the things in them are built so differently. "Neck hurts", tell me about it... :)
One of my favorite parts of Stud Pack is your willingness to tackle any project and being 100% honest and real. You might be professionals, but your videos are so helpful that any DiY'er can follow the logic and procedures. Very informative, educational, and entertaining. Thanks Stud Pack!
That paint eraser trick is a must for any professional painter. It's something that I learned naturally as I painted, made mistakes and progressed over the years. Thanks for reminding me of this trick. I like to hold my breathe when making my cut-in pass. It allows me to move the brush faster and that in itself makes the cut line even straighter.
My brother in law is a professional painter and he would get jobs with same deadline date and have me and my son come help….I learned most of those tips and tricks I saw in this video from him. The plastic liner tip was new to me and snipping the corner. And absolutely the putty knife and damp cotton cloth is always on you or it will look like the trim he showed in the other house in the video.
He used the 18” roller for years but doing high ceilings is hard on the neck and shoulders and gets heavy when loaded with paint so he switched back to the 9” as he is so fast and when he back rolls you don’t see any lap marks. He been painting with his dad since he was 13 and is 68 and still going strong.
Flipping the angled brush over to cut in is so simple yet so effective… thanks for all the tips! 👌🏻
I started as a painter when I was 12 and worked for my father. He always used a drill and a couple of buckets of cold water to clean out his rollers . It was all done in under a few minutes . This was 49 years ago .
Being a contractor and living in a rental place is one of the most annoying things ever. I cannot say how many times i come home from a freshly remodeled unit/home and see the stuff that can use work in my place. The worst part is that i cant do it since its a rental. I cannot wait to get a house and just completely redo everything. Great video as always!
Negotiate with the landlord to do work for a discount on rent
WOW! I've been painting for years but have not had any real training. Just picked up tips here and there. And Im a BEHR girl all the way! But I must say I learned QUITE a bit during this video today! Thank you for your time and expertise. Love the way you explain things; very easy to understand. I'm going to save this video and share!
ben moore and sherwin williams are both 10x better then cheap behr
@@brodyllc behr is trash paint . BM & SW offer affordable paint that is easier to work with and far more durable. When people say " we baught the paint already" and they say it's behr I walk away . The paint is a challenge to work with at every step. It will actually destroy a perfectly good brush by wadding up in the bristles and blowing it out ( once they get like that they are good only for use as a duster or painting garbage cans) . Behr paint absolutely will not cover in one coat , no paint I've ever used is capable of that , it is 100% a lie .
People should spend the extra $10 a gallon and get good paint that goes on smooth and lasts .
Benjamin Moore all day for me.
I appreciate your tips but enjoyed seeing the bond between father and son. This shows that dad spent the time teaching his son the value of hard work as well as other good traits he instilled in his son. Good job “dad”, your son is a success like you!
One tip that learned is to use a 4inch roller after you cut in. It helps out the roller guy from hitting the trim plus, it covers up the brush lines.
I keep a water mister bottle handy when I paint. I mist the the paint occasionally where the edges tend to dry first, and before I store my paint can, brushes, and rollers in plastic bags, I mist the inside of the bag. I never get any of those dry edges.
@William B not inside the paint can, inside the plastic bag before storing the roller and brush, and I’m assuming the wall if the edge starts to dry out
Dad Stud Pack is a treasure. Keep up the great work guys!
Totally awesome, You guys rock! As a seasoned woodworker, I've been saying for years that one of the best ways for beginners or anyone to learn is to watch a pro. Same with painting, drywall, stonework, boatbuilding, work in the woods. There will always be a fan base for these videos. And about a thousand times better watching than most anything on tv. Thanks!
This is the first Stud Pack video that I watched🎉and I am hooked! I can’t remember when I’ve enjoyed, learned and benefited from a how-to as much as y’all’s! Maybe since This Old House, the early years😉 Love all of the information and attention to detail! Y’all are definitely my new favorites!!! ❤
I've been painting since 1970 and when this guy showed me his metal pot talked about Purdy brushes lambs wool rollers and working out of a 5 gallon bucket with a screen that's all I have to see to know that this is pro level at least to start with
🙄

Thx jasson 👊 yep we have the best viewers on YT 💪
Dear God, I pray someday my baby boy and I get to be just like you two. I'm almost crying watching the two of you get after it together. Bless you both
I also am a BERH guy.... but... I came across Sherwin Williams emerald line. WOW! Super great one coat coverage, extremely durable and the colors are a little richer.
Project Farm here on UA-cam did a review on several paints. BERH and Emerald were among them. It's worth checking out the video.
They also have an Emerald latex with polyurethane that can go over oil. Only complaint is the Semi gloss sheen isn't the best so I'd recommend Gloss. But, it's fantastic if you'd prefer using latex over oil.
I'm not a painter, but painting has often been included as part of the job. The wife never flinched at occasionally finding brushes and rollers in the fridge. The painter I initially learned from had one rule - brushes never go into the original paint container. So I always cut with a pail until I switched to using the handy pail after they showed up on the market. I still use the first one I bought some 20 years ago.
I just bought one. I have yet to try it out.
Having just contaminated a new tin of paint by brushing straight from there rather than using a separate container, I agree with the painter who taught you!
I also store my roller if I’m doing a small project right in the can (small) can 😊
One of the reasons I love you guys is I'm also about dad's age and came up doing pretty much everything from digging the footers to nailing on the last shingle. I worked for a pro painter for two years just to learn the professional way. Along the way I have never hesitated to consult a professional for new things like electrical, plumbing, sheetrock, siding, etc. My primary trade is carpentry, framing and finishing. If is has to do with wood it's my mastery. So Jack of all trades, Master of one. 😃

I’ve been a professional painter for over 30 years and I use a handy pail and the liners. I attached the handle to my belt and it frees up my hands to paint ambidextrously and to be able to climb ladders using both hands while painting. Rinse out the liners and reuse multiple times. Inside the Paul is a magnet to hold the brush. I’ve been using the same handy pail for 15 years now it holds up really well overtime and does not put any extra stress on my hands or knuckles
Same here. I would never tackle a paint project without my handy pail. Keeps the old hands from cramping up, too. Makes going up and down ladders much safer with both hands free
Thumbs up, I’m a Painter myself can’t count how many time I’ve heard “GMs/carpenters say they hate to paint. I love it. Your brush/ cut in technique is very accurate, been using both end of the brush since I started. Just seemed to be the brush wanted to work also, finish w/ short end like you glad to see I’m not alone. 61 yrs old been painting since I was 16, and still learning = from guys like you thanks you.
Great tips. Here is another. Use the blue tape on those outlets. We electricians hate paint on our outlets or switches. It gets real messy and grimy right away as soon as the owner plugs and unplugs something.
An electrician looked at an outlet I painted to match the wall and told me it’s against code. That’s fine, I wanted to hide the outlet.
@@LSUTigerMom it’s all fun and games until the FBI catches up with you.
@@PeterPaul175 Hi Peter! I believe the FBI has bigger fish to fry than painted outlets. Have a great day!
Pro tip for ceilings (especially large ones with natural light). Cross roll edges first and then back roll (finish) the whole ceiling in the same direction (lift the roller and start at the same wall each time on the final pass. This is way more important on flat ceilings, but at least you wont see as many gradients in the ceiling. Walls that get a lot of light from an adjacent window can also benefit from this technique. Roller direction changes the texture of the deposited paint.
Yup, I learned this the hard way painting the kitchen with semi gloss!
@Crack Shot In the kitchen yeah. Looks great longer and makes it easier to clean them when needed.
@@Pixeltrainer Bathrooms as well.
Can someone explain or point me to a video that explains 'cross roll' and 'back roll?' Thanks, first time painter here.
@@mattg9371 Painting is usually cutting in a wall with a brush and then rolling. At a wall the rolling is generally a up down, down up rolling motion. The first goal is to get ~100% coverage for the coat of paint. The back roll is after you get coverage you even out the amount of paint on the wall so you dont have orange peels (large deposits of paint) and roller marks. Back rolling is usually down with a roller that has not excess paint.
In the wall example above a roll side-to-side would be considered a cross-roll. So people cross roll the ceiling and floor edges to get the roller texture as close to the ceiling and trim and not worry about touching them with the roller. This step is usually before back rolling. When you are inexperienced you likely wont get close to the adjacent ceiling or trim for fear of transfering paint and you can miss areas between the cut line and the roller.
Normally the back roll is the last roll. I add the finish roll after the back roll on the walls I mentioned in the OP.
You will get the feel. Start with a 15 mm lint free roller on your first wall and you will quickly learn about your tools and your paint. Some paints cost more but get much better coverage.
Just a note, cross rolling is a technique that can save time and improve appearances. I usually cross roll above and below window frames and then finish with a up-down back roll for wall texture consistency.
If you are rolling walls the most important tool is the extension poll. Anyone rolling a wall without one is usually an ignorant fool and you see it in hollywood often.
Making money, working with each other, and providing a valuable service - wow that seems like a great life! My heart was warmed and I got a bunch of great tips - thank you!
Great to see the son working with the father on their family business....to the son, enjoy the time you have with your dad, it's something that will give you a lifetime of memories. Great work!!! My dad was a housepainter and had his own business and he loved using Benjamin Moore paints and always believed in two coats of finish paint even if it does say one coat could cover he always insisted to the client on priming the walls so that you have a new canvas to work with and his jobs always came out great. What my dad did on the glass doors was that he wouldn't tape the glass rather he would remove whatever paint got on the glass with a razorblade and that worked great too but he would always say every painter does things differently but as long as the job is done well, it doesn't matter how to go about those results. Keep up the great work and I love your videos.
Watching you guys use that large roller may have me converted!
Great tips. I switched from using a ladder to a 36 in X 16 in X 24 in platform. I switched because of my knees and foot instep being sore after painting. Now using the platform is easier on both and I get a aerobic work out. Try it you'll find that your reach is extended when cutting in and it speeds up the job . It folds up like a lawn chair and doesn't weigh much or take up a lot of space.
You guys are great! I first started watching for the painting advice, but then after seeing how wonderful a father-son, duo worked together I was moved to tears of joy! Thank you for the tips and I'm glad you two are together. Stay strong, together....Oh, I'm painting my tiny room with a tiny kitchen here in Japan, and can not locate angle brushes (or angel brushes either 🙂) But I have enough tips here to move forward. Thanks again! Lovely people!
Our pleasure!
It is So nice to see a FATHER take his son under his wing and not only teach him but talk to him like he matters and respects him as an important part of not only his family but as his partner in business. Not many fathers are willing and not many sons or daughters are wanting to even be around there parent. So hats off to both you. A bit of advice for the son. Cherish this time with your Father . Sadly one day you guys may not be together anymore. So everyday is a gift
I work in a sheet metal trade and let me tell you, I've grown so much respect for pro painters ever since I've tried to paint my house... Especially rolling the ceilings)) My arms were falling off in like 20 minutes. Great channel, keep it up guys, and you have a new sub) All the best.
Fantastic as always! My wife and I can’t paint together, apparently She doesn’t like the way I roll 🤣
😂
Cute
The reason the one side is longer is so that its all contacting the wall when leading the paint. At least thats what I always thought. I taught myself how to cut in and do it exactly like you do. Even use the puddy knife trick (if not than I use the pointed end of a multitool)
Its actually fun watching your channel. When I was young I started helping people manage their properties. Mostly slum lords. But when I was the only
one there I would practice doing it in the most efficient manner. A lot of what I see you do is eventually how I started doing things. I learned everything wrong before
I slowly realized there is only one good way.
Now I just do Tile and I love it, lol.
Ou two work so well together it is a joy to watch you teach! Years ago when my house needed painting my daughter & I worked together to get the job done. Much like you & your son, I do the cutting in & my daughter does the rolling on the walls, we make a pretty good team. When we started the first room, I taped everything in thinking I needed to do so. By the time we finished the first room, I felt pretty confident in my technique of cutting in & no longer need to tape before we paint. So much faster & cleaner. We continued with our Mom/daughter team to remodel & also laid the floor tiling in kitchen, entryway, bathrooms as well as laid laminate flooring thru-out the rest of our home. When it came to installing tile on the walls for our shower, I didn't have the confidence to do it myself so hired a contractor & was sorely disappointed with his work & ended up firing him. But on a good note, our painting & floor work look great & we are happy with our work. Glad to hear you like Behr Marque One Coat!
Really enjoy your videos. Keep them coming!
I miss my Dad after watching this. You are sweet people. It's awesome that you guys get to work together.
Thanks for the putty knife and damp rag eraser tip! Amazing on the cut in. I'm not a pro, never shown how to paint, have intuited the same techniques! Great to see that there's no better way. Yep, use Purdy for quality brush work. And a bit of leveling agent for smooth trim work.
a pro tip to wash those 18in is to take the 18in pan outside and put it on its side then hold the 18 over the ends and do the hose rinse. way less chance to get spray back on yourself
Beat me to it!
My dad was a painter for 30+ years. You guys do excellent work.
A tip that is awesome...Paint your ceilings high gloss and it reflects light more. If your home is a bit dark this trick really helps.
If you're rolling that, you will see the lines which you don't when using flat paint.
I'm by no means a professional painter, but thought I already knew a lot of tricks - still learned a lot from this video!! Thanks for all the info and you guys were very enjoyable to watch!!
Studpack Saturday morning video for us to enjoy!! Thank you guys & Keep up the good work!!
Studpack..Your pro tips on painting 1. Use 5 gal bucket with paint rack 2. Straining the paint 3. Using putty knive with rag to pick up mistakes or drips. All those tips a pro painter friend of taught me 35years ago.. They are great tips I still use today!! Another tip he taught me is do not put a fresh roller of paint within 3ft of floor or ceiling. Start in the middle of the wall with fresh roller of paint. It is much easier to roller in the excess paint from the spot on the wall where you started. You are killing us having to wait 2 more weeks for the announcement.. Love your work guys! KUTGW
Another great tip for DIY ‘s when repainting textured walls and ceiling’s, always throw a new bead of caulk around the trim, it makes cutting a lot easier. Stay BLESSED
Love to see the father/son team. Also like that you clean edges with damp rag & putty knife, that's some real OG stuff. Good job guys!
I’ve had REALLY good luck with Marquee paint over the years.
So good to see a father and son team working so well together. Thanks for the tips as well!
Lucky kid to still have his old man around. You guys have great chemistry. Miss my old man every day.
Great seeing a man that takes some pride in his work and passing tricks of the trade on to his son.. and us. Thanks for sharing!!
Currently in closing on my first house. Been binge watching your channel soaking up as much as I can. Thank you guys!
One of the best painting videos I have ever seen. I love how you break down even the simplest of things. Thank you for all you do.
Oh wow! Great about the baseboard clean up & using short end of the slant on brush for cutting in! When he said his neck hurt I was like oh geez! I was painting beams in my kitchen looking up for long time & had to wear neck brace for 2 1/2 years from it! So if ur neck is hurting get a brace & wear it BEFORE u get the injury! It really hurts badly.
Wow! You guys have done it again. I don't like painting and usually leave it to someone else. But after watching this I feel more confident. The trick of cutting in with the brush and rag/blade is awesome! Keep up the great job!

My father was a paint contractor most of his life, and you remind me so much of him in your technic and short-cuts that work perfectly. So, it may have been just an instructional video to you, but it brought back incredible memories to me. Yes, I cried.
Stumbled upon your channel just as I was ready to sand down the new plaster on the wall...just use a sponge omg! It works so well, thank you! Fantastic channel, keep it up!
Learned a good bit of info on the materials and cleanup. A side note I always do when I am rolling, once I cover the initial coat i dip the roller wet (making sure I don't pull my paint) and do a long sweep from one cutin to the other. It removes the roller stop marks and finishes off nicely. Great job and I really like the edging rework and finish product.
I was a professional painter for 20 years, loved every minute of it sadly, recently had to quit due to bad shoulders and back, now stuck on a desk job. Watching your video made me 😢, how I wish! enjoy your heath, watch out for accidents, something as simple as a lid on the way and bum, be careful, all your body parts are so precious
💕💕💕💕
I love when families work together! 💖💖💖💖
In the UK when we line out the paint skuttle you can get them to sit tight to the sides of the skuttle by wetting the inside with water slightly and this helps you to not tear the sides of the liner with the roller cage when loading up with paint.
Awesome tip!
Love the wall color. So tired of grey. Like the cutting tip also although I do it that way already...a pro painter taught me. Great to see the house coming along and two weeks for the big news I can't wait.
A man who takes pride in his work loves his job, great skill & teacher 👏🏻
Good tips here in this video. My oy critique as a Painter is to try and keep your rolling on the ceiling In one direction from wall to wall as much as you can to prevent streaking. And rolling parallel to the window that let's In the most natural light is your BESTFRIEND.
Wonderful job as always guys. Love the detail and the tips and tricks. Excited to hear the news in 2 weeks!
