    Makeup/baby wipes spread dirt on your face as much as they remove it. Most people don't recommend them anymore. (Also super bad for the environment). Even when lacking time, a 1 minute cleanse at a sink is going to be better. But thank you for the retinol tips!

    Great video per usual Cody. I just want to say thank you for making such great products. I have Melasma and your products have helped my skin to pretty well control it, I stay on top of it every single day! Recently my skin became super dry & dehydrated, causing my face to burn when I cleansed, even the most gentle cleansers CeraVe and Cetaphil would burn when I applied to my face. I was at a loss and then remembered I had purchased your Gentle Nutrient Rich Cleanser that you recently started selling on your Montarbo Skincare site. Cody I used it and haven't stopped, it was so gentle and there was no burning! It cleaned my makeup and Sunscreen and once again I can't stop raving about your products! My search for the perfect Cleanser is over, thank you Cody!💜

    I lived in the UAE for many years, before returning to Canada and it was SO cheap there - and you could buy it over the counter at the pharmacies. I stocked up. I started using RetinA only a year ago - and I’m in my sixties - wish I’d started years ago - but I sought advice from a dermatologist (who also gave me 5 radio frequency treatments) and he advised I start with 0.25 and am now using 0.05 - the doc told me that to prevent dryness to always make sure your face is really dry (after you clean it) before putting on the cream - keep the cream out of the folds beside the mouth (gets red) and also to prevent dryness mix the RetinA with the same amount of moisture cream and then put on the face. Made such a difference. I love this stuff - my dermatologist said all you need is two things - RetinA and a good sun screen! :)

    I also do your massaging method around my mouth to get the small lines around my mouth. I also put a tiny amount on my eyelids to reduce the crepey wrinkles there and to get a small lift of the skin on the brow bone. I have been getting some saggy lies right above my jaw line. • @MontarboSkinCareSanDiego
      @MontarboSkinCareSanDiego  4 роки тому

      On nights I want to apply moisturizer with a retinoid, I usually apply a light layer before and let that absorb for at least 10 minutes, then apply retinoid on top. This helps buffer a little especially if you are wanting to avoid getting too dry.

  • @ThereseCarlberg
    @ThereseCarlberg Рік тому +1

    Hello, I discovered a few things that are important to mention. First of all, you are using too much retinol on your face. You only need a very small amount that you should gently stroke onto the skin and let it absorb. You should not apply it once and then apply it again. When it comes to the eye area, you should be very careful. Apply retinol on your forehead, cheeks, and chin, as retinol works with receptors and will spread to the entire face, including areas where you didn't directly apply it. The areas to avoid applying retinol are the eye area, the nose and its sides, and around the mouth. The receptors will ensure that these areas are also affected. If you want to use retinol on these areas, you can consider purchasing an eye cream with retinol, which usually has a lower concentration, but it is unnecessary.
    Furthermore, it is important to apply a moisturizer to the entire face after the retinol has absorbed. This will help prevent irritation and dryness, as retinol can be drying.
    It is also important to apply retinol on dry skin if you are very sensitive or have just started using retinol. If you are an experienced user, you can apply retinol on damp skin, as you have already built up tolerance. Damp skin allows retinol to penetrate faster and deeper, increasing the risk of irritation. If you want to be more cautious, you can first apply a moisturizer, wait for it to be absorbed, then apply retinol, and finally apply moisturizer on top of retinol to seal everything in. This is known as a retinol sandwich.

I’ve been doing it your way for about 3 weeks now, but I finally see a subtle difference around my eyes! I just began carefully applying it under the eyes, crows feet etc. My under eyes a little patchy in the am, just like you said it would! So I gently remove the patches, and moisturize! I’m not going to stop, because like you said it looks worse at first. When you explained the long term benefits, it’s 100% worth it to me! So it’s just temporary, and the long term is what it’s allllllll about! Someone asked how do they know it is working... after weeks and a few months the ne skin will surface after the old skin has sloughed off,( that’s the purpose of Retin-A or get rid of the old skin and let that new skin shine out! Do you think I should try this moisturizer trick for better results?

    I’m a skincare fanatic, always researching and taking great care of my skin. I’ve found that if I mix equal parts of my moisturizer with Retin A when my skin is starting to feel taut or slightly dry from using the Retin A, I can continue use, but the “diluted” version keeps my skin from going haywire. 😉 Also, I’ve found alternating nighttime use of Retin A with either Sunday Riley Good Genes, Farmacy Honeymoon Glow or another exfoliating product is the perfect combo for me!

    I’m trying to get more out of my tret 1.0 what do you think about microneedle rolling prior to application? And does following it with a moisturizer decrease it’s effacacy? My skin isn’t dry after . Would slugging w aquaphor also make it work better? Thanks! I have had a hard time finding this info most info out there is helping those who can’t tolerate

    • @MontarboSkinCareSanDiego
      @MontarboSkinCareSanDiego  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you for reaching out and finding trust in my info. I wouldn’t recommend any treatment on top of microneedled skin to avoid major irritation and sensitivity. Instead maybe adding a chemical exfoliant will allow your other products to work better. When you slouch dead skin, products will penetrate more. A light moisturizer before tret slightly buffers it but is still beneficial if skin is very dry. Hydrated skin receives treatments better. Slugging is an option if you’re needing to seal in moisture, especially in cold dry climates.

    As a lay person, clients need to super educate themselves b4 practicing many of the skincare routines and techniques implemented by us professionally...
    However !!! For those who have an Esthetician, I LOVE THAT YOU SAID, UR GETTING PAID TO TAKE THINGS TO THE NEXT LEVEL..
    I see many videos discussing Retin A/ Aka Tretinoin where people freak on the purge,...Why is the Purge so dramatic...
    It's all in the skins
    MEMORY....if everyone had been taking regular daily steps, by properly double cleansing oil/ first, then a gentle cleanser, a leave on AHA' and BHA' as well as a couple serums, C, Hyaluronic Acid, and Naicinimide ( my faves) top it off with a good moisturizer b4 bed....the skin would could, and will adjust SO MUCH MORE WILLINGLY to Retin A
    Please let ur clients and readers know 2-3 months OF Great skincare, that includes AHA' or BHA's or both will prep that skin to receive Retin A like a Bikini is Ready for Hawaii...
    Finally !! An Esthetician
    who speaks the language every good Esthetician should be doing!
    Love @ you darlin 😘

    Love your videos. I had been using a Neostrata Retinol +NAG complex for over a year ( on and off) (0.1%, after starting with the 0.5%) and I was experiencing sensitivity and peeling, so I had to stop on some days. Recently I have used Dermatica Retin-A online and it is a gel. I started with 0.025% , and got NO peeling at all. For past two weeks I used their 0.05% and still nothing ( and I have to say that I have mild rosacea).. no sensitivity and no peeling so I am confused ... is the gel less potent than the cream? Thanks for your advice. I need to check your products! Love and light.

    Hi there, I have been using Retin-A for about 6 months now. I started on the .025% which didn’t do much for me and then I switched to .05% and I really like it. I don’t have the dryness and peeling much anymore, except for when I use makeup. My other problem is, I am still having clogged pores and acne. Two questions: do you think my skin could benefit from a higher prescription that I would use as a spot treatment for problem areas? Also, do you have any tips on how to avoid the dryness that comes with putting on makeup? Thank you so much!

    • @sperkins5244

      Hi! I've been using retin a for about 3 years. When my skin was dryer in the winter I used a light moisturizer and let it soak in, then put my retin a on, let it soak in, then moisturizer over over it (on really dry areas). In the mornings, I just used a heavier moisturizer with sunscreen that massaged in good before my makeup. Hope this helps.

    I found your channel on UA-cam from a comment Sheri from Graceful Beauty made. Love this info! I just increased my Retin A from .05% (6 days a week) to .1% (1ce per week). How often would you recommend I use the increased dosage? Or do you think for wrinkles I am better off using .05% since I use it more frequently?

    • @MontarboSkinCareSanDiego
      @MontarboSkinCareSanDiego  5 років тому +1

      Thank you so much for being here. I love Sheri. To be honest I wouldn’t be concerned The percentage as I would be with how much you apply and how frequently. Typically we tell people to use it three times a week at minimum. I released a video “ Retin-A 101” a few weeks ago that could help.

    Hi, I am getting confused. I am currently using advanced radical night repair with 1% retina. It's caused lot of drying under the eyes and it looks really bad as it's caused the undereye are to crease. Should I still be using eye cream or should I ride it out. Really would appreciatie if you could adise on this please. Thanks X

    • @MontarboSkinCareSanDiego
      @MontarboSkinCareSanDiego  5 років тому

      This is a normal sign of vitamin a working below the surface of the skin. With any active ingredients, the skin can get worse before gets better. Maybe for you it’s best to avoid the eye area. you could maybe moisturize your skin prior to using to see if that helps. Typically the transformation can last 3 to 9 months depending on your baseline
