We used to run a Rainbow irrigation unit that had that same engine but was propane powered. It had marine water jacket exhause manifolds on it. Ran it 24 hours a day sometimes. Had another pump with a IH engine on it but was much bigger. Don't know the cubic inches but it was BIG. It had straight exhaust that were turned upward to throw the exhaust up and away from the engine and pump. It was also propane powered. We use to go check it at night and the exhaust manifolds would be glowing red. It was a real screamer. You could here it for miles. Both had Murphy systems on them in case something went wrong. IH engines are tough engines.
Yes they are!
I have a 68 Loadstar 1700 4x4 and I'm converting to propane. Finishing up the world famous brakes and gotta assemble the flatbed, and she's ready. It fires up every time, one pump to the floor, so smooth and beautiful. My first IH, my first big truck and that happiness he felt when it ran is so universal and every working man and woman gets it, white, black, yellow, and beyond. Plan on taking mine around the world and feeding people in disasters, starting in the US.
An oldie but a goodie! Dig these videos!
good to see the old girl running and rolling again. Update us again please after she gets her timing on!
PLEASE....OH PLEASE, post another video of this absolute BEAST up and running, and DRIVING very healthy. It's too damn bad you're not somewhere close to Toronto, Ontario, Canada or I would volunteer to help you put your engine back together for free, in exchange for you letting me take it for a spin to relive childhood memories. But it looks like you're already there. BTW, I am a Ford dealership technician who has a very unusual fascination with these old International Dinosaurs, is because I have vivid memories of riding school buses as a kid, and remembering how they sounded in great detail (when compared to the sound of Ford and Chevy/GMC school buses of a similar era) when driving along. I remembered them being very "whiny" sounding as they revved up. I even remember the shift pattern 1 and 2 being next to each other, but 1st gear of course was never used (always started off in 2nd gear). Good job by the way.
engine rebuild got it going after sorting the pump and the paint job makes it look brand new timing to do should be good *😀🔍fully viewed✅ supporting🔎🎭✅ it got our like 👍🇦🇺👍😀*
love the sound of that muffler bearing
I just purchased a 1974 last weekend at a farm auction. It has 27,000 miles and was stored in a barn its entire life. I has some work that needs to be done, but I am excited at the possibilities. Another IH product added to my fleet. Thank you so much for this series of videos.
Yes!!!! That's awesome man👍
You have your hands full. That rebuild looks amazing. Especially with the paint. lol.

👍👍this is just dropdead cool!
Awesome video, had the 345 in my 71 1210 Travelette crew cab pickup. What a workhorse. Had both the factory IH stamped keys too
Well congratulations! Been waiting for this! Get her tuned in and take her to the drag strip!
Keep the oldies going man. My dad & I are working on a few old tractors, good times.
Just love em...good to hear other people do too!
Nice video
Yea I can read it. Clear as mud ha! Let's go let's drive.
When she took off running I bet you were grinning for ear to ear, I know I was. Great job on the engine. 👌👍
It was like an elephant got taken off my back

It lives! Well done.
Nice truck man!
Someone got inspired by tractor pulls! :)
Nice job, looks awesome. Love me some old trucks like that!!
I have been waiting a long time to hear her run!! Nice job!!!
Good job sir
The ultimate in Recycling...getting older equipment a 2nd and 3rd life!
Beautiful machine!!
Awesome sauce
Hope your going to do a follow up!
Is it a Point Ignition, or Electronic, you might want to get the number 1 piston back up on TDC and with timing mark, and then check where the rotor lines up with number one on cap. Just sounds why off. Hope that helps Bud👍
Points for now. Yea its way off. Ill do an update video. Lots of small work needs done now
@@FarmallFanatic
You'll get it 👍
Wooohooo
Learned to drive a manual on a loadstar 1600 putting around the field while waiting on my grandpa to fill the hopper on the combine. It was a dead ringer for yours..
That’s awesome
Just love your channel this is why I continue to support you Sir. You shared so much information about Engine.
This was very interesting, cool to watch, this was a lot of work i net huh, thanks for this.
Nicely done! If you have any more trouble with the fuel pump you should try an in-line electric pump powered from the ignition switch. If you don't care about keeping it original, it would be a good upgrade.
I did that Haha
Very good man i have been thinking about that and it finally came to life .. Congrats on gettin the IH engine alive
Now paint lol
Farmall Fanatic- keep your king pins greased on 1600 loadstar. They are a real pain in the ars to change.
If you jack up on front axle watch tires, If bad you will see tire tip/ move in or out. Good luck
I just greased em...funny you mentioned that
It LIVES!
Best feeling is when they come back to life
It will be fine when timing is done it runs that's the main thing. Good video mate. Don't know to much about the International only ever seen Tractors and most of them where fairly new. International Case I believe but would have to ask my little bro as he's the tractor expert lol I just fix them when they go wrong. Good video mate 👍👍
Listen to that....I knew you could do it!
You got to be tickled pink. That will be a great grain truck.
Rolling! BOOM 💥
The paint job looks sharp! Was it the fuel pump that was giving you problems or the wires? I wasn't sure about that part. She's rolling either way! That seems like it's the hard part!
Both lol. Put an electric fuel pump in
great vid :) we'll be working on our famall A. we pulled it out today, but the motor is locked up.. i got video of pulling it, so that'll be up at some point..
No wedding planing yet for Pa Hillbilly.
Yes she marrying Bobby this weekend
that's not a bad looking truck, I wonder if that paint would buff out and look shiny again?
Im gonna try
Soak a rag in evaporust and put it on the data plate on that tank over night. It will clean tha puppy right up. Then rinse with water and clear coat it.
interesting
Great truck u should make a new key so u don't have use the old one
I like a old international motor crank up 345V8
Fresh engines can be a pain to start at times
Watching now 🙂
One thing i haven't seen on your channel is your after harvest proces where do your crops go? I need a mechanic fly to Missouri lol
Haha the mill...ill probably do a video of that
like my good friend Gene , well you guys knew him as Gene wilder, used to say "ITS ALIIIIVE!"
what size shirt are you? I have a shirt you will like if I can get it done.
Hahaha it sure is! XL
Dang the fuel pump
Hey dude. Just saw the plate on your gas tank and thought I'd comment if you don't mind. I sprayed clear coat on my H serial number plate to help preserve it. It's showing some wear. Just a thought.
Not a bad idea...tanks clean as a whistle...other than that tag
Why dishoner that cornbinder with crappy chevy orange, surely you culd have found some IHC red.
I’m guessing the camshaft survived the break in?
I'm getting ready to go full synthetic oil
👍
Looking good man. How's finding parts for the international? Is international an easier make to get parts than others?
Very easy 👍
A little adjusting and you’ll be set!
Purrs now...release the video next week
where did you connect your vacuum advance to? When i got mine it was connected straight to the intake manifold next to the distributor. Shouldn't it be connected to the carb? idk if IH is different or if it is a mistake.
The vacuum advance was hooked to the back of the carb, I hooked it back up to the same vacuum port as the original
Do you think you'll have it ready for the next car show?
Por 15 work well in place of rustoleum.
Yea if the show is at the feed mill haha
I have a 1973 1210 with the 345 I’m hoping to get it running soon new plugs cap points wires waiting on carb just seams to turn over slow any advice thank you
How old is your battery?
You said it was 180 degrees out of time ... so some are valves are opening on the compression .... some are opening on the exhaust some are probably smacking the top of the piston?
No the ignition timing is off so the spark plugs are firing at the wrong time. He's in trouble if he got the valve timing off!
Its not 180 anymore. Just needs fine tuned now
Don't beat those valves out of it.. lol
What you mean?
Hey buddy lookin good 👀! Does your gas tank have a step built in to it? If it does ours rusted out under plate & leaked when full. Good to see the truck running , Brings back a lot of memories. Great video
No this is just a small hanger tank. Need a bigger one
How long did it take you to figure out it was the fuel pump?
Hour
I'm currently trying to get a loadstar 1700 5 yard dump truck protected and tuned up.
That's the 345? I'm working on the 392 lots of little work I put Ngk plugs in mine. Also someone dumped a 9000 series carter And carburator on it we found two more carter carburators that we are putting carb kits into them right now. My next project is to get a radiator hose actuator for the heater free it's seized up pretty good
*Afb
That 392 will have plenty of power
Who is the woman you have working on the engine ? I think its cool she knows machanics like i do. I thought i was a rear bird.
Oh you are a rare bird make no mistake about that ...that is basically one of my best friends
Just recently started watching your videos and they're great by the way. And was just wondering what your opinion was on Case David Brown tractors specifically the 885 model, and are there many around in the US?
Cheers from Australia
First tractor I owned was a David Brown 1200. Great tractors! Yes there are a lot around here. Thank you for the channel support!
Have a question for you buddy have you ever worked on the brakes on that before on my international truck when I push the brake it goes right to the floor no give or nothing what do you think is wrong
Could be Master cylinder
@@FarmallFanatic ok thank you buddy
why couldn't you have timed that up by ear.i hardly ever use a light.
Don't know if you're still looking for another Tractor, but I saw these listed thought I would share
I dont see em...might have went to spam. Ill go look
@@FarmallFanatic
Don't know what happened there, it shows up on mine.
One was a nice 560 diesel, the other a restored Oliver super 77.
@@ihus9950 Yeah those are nice tractors
Yea it’s a 50/50 chance of being 180 out and it’s always out 180
So the tomato runs again
Paints valve covers and heads, installs new carb, fuel pump, plugs and plug wires, and it’s “rebuilt”!🤣
That’s not how it works, buddy. A rebuilt costs a little bit more than a tuneup. I consider the average rebuild to cost around $600-$900 without labor, just parts.
What? You need to go watch Part 1,2, and 3...that's rebuilt...in-frame, but 100% rebuilt
