I think everybody loved the moments when one just finished a hard quest and finally leaves the damn cave and hears this music and enjoys the beautiful landscape
@Cactus Juice LOL, thank you. I don't know what a faunus is, but I always pick khajiit because they're badass (and maybe a little adorable and I have a soft spot for kitties but mostly badass).
I once saw a comment saying : "it's weird when a game feels like home", and everytime i listen to skyrim's OST i realise how true this is, it really is a beautiful game
- It was the first rain in months! The crops are dying! Why did you do that!? - Sorry about that. Shouts Storm Call* Done! Farmer is hit by lightning bolt and dies*
It is more impressive indeed, but to outright call overcoming one's nature "better" than naturally being good is somewhat silly in my eyes. I will see them both on equal greatness, but I am more impressed and will believe the one that overcame their original nature to be more hardworking and determined. But that in of itself is an assumption based off of lacking information, and my foolish emotional mind. Both could be just as hard working, just as determined and passionate. Just because one had to work towards that end, doesn't make them more good
@@joshuagoodman6359 I disagree. Just because one fights against their original bad nature doesn't mean that the end product is definitely any better. They may have the experience of being bad, and of fighting against that, but that does not necessarily translate to being outright superior. More wise in those areas are a given, but wisdom doesn't only come from one's own experience, as it can come from the experiences of others, through empathy and understanding. And humility in this case doesn't come from turning good, it comes from growth, which both the good and bad people can experience equally. Wisdom and humility are not the only traits that make up whether someone is better. Overwriting ones own nature is in the same vein as improving oneself, which good natured people would strive for. Both parties can attain wisdom and humility on the same level, it all depends on the individual. It comes back to being more impressive to fight against a bad past self, but not better. At the end of it, it is silly to look at such a complicated subject portrayed in a shallow way and ask for a general answer of black or white, better or worse. What makes up a person is an immeasurable amount of things, and one different experience doesn't create the ability to accurately judge. This is just what I think though
I KILLED PAARTHURNAX, WHEN THE MOMENT CAME I DIDN'T HESITATE. nah, i actually killed him because I thought I needed to to advace on some sidequests ;v, RIP
Ralof: Hey you, you're finally awake. Caught trying to cross the border right? Walked right into that imperial ambush, same as us, and that thief over there. Lokir: Damn you Stormcloaks. Skyrim was fine until you came along. Empire was nice and lazy. If they hadn't been looking for you, I would've stolen that horse and been halfway to Hammerfell. You there, you and me, we shouldn't be here. It's these stomcloaks the empire wants. Imperial Guard: Shut up back there! Lokir: And what's wrong with him? Ralof: Watch your tongue! You're speaking to Ulfric, the true high king! Lokir: Ulfric. You're the leader of the rebellion. But if they've captured you... Oh gods, where are they taking us! Ralof: I don't know where we're heading, but Sovngarde awaits. Lokir: This isn't happening! This isn't happening! Ralof: Which village are you from, horse thief? Lokir: Why do you care? Ralof: A Nords last thoughts, should be of home. Lokir: Rorikstead. I'm from Rorikstead. Imperial Guard: General Tullius, the headsman is waiting! General Tullius: Good, let's get this over with. Lokir: Shor, Mara, Dibella, Akatosh... Divines, please help me! Ralof: Look at him, General Tullius the military governer. And it looks like the Thalmor are with him. Damn elves, I bet they had something to do with this. Ralof: This is Helgen. I used to be sweet on a girl from here. I wonder if Vilod is still making that mead with Juniper Berries mixed in. Funny, when I was a boy, imperial walls and towers used to make me feel so safe... Boy: Who are they daddy? Father: You need to go inside. Boy: But I want to watch the soldiers! Father: Inside the house. Now. Imperial Captain: Get these prisoners out of the carts. Lokir: Why are we stopping? Ralof: Why do you think. End of the line. Let's go, we shouldn't keep the gods waiting for us. Lokir: No wait! We're not rebels! Ralof: Face your death with some courage horse thief. Lokir: You've got to tell them! We weren't with you! This is a mistake! If there are any errors, it's probably because some of this if from memory rather than from a reference. Tell me, and I'll edit it.
As an old lady of 54 I have just started playing Elder Scrolls--my son bought me an Xbox--and I love it! I am not very good at doing battle, but I love the story, music and the scenery. I get totally lost in the world. He tells me about playing the original Skyrim and I wish I could have played that one as well.
I turn 60 in December and have been enjoying Skyrim since it came out. If you get the chance, think about trying Oblivion, that's what got me started on this Journey. Take care Stew.
it does, but probably this guy didnt made the songs so the only effort was to stick them together. Anyway, ads are annoying and even protect you from phishing and malware
@@sunbro920 Here it means a different meaning, I think that we know the essence of life, not cold, not heat, nothing shackles our feelings. I dream that fall has come and I drove my car to a certain wilderness to look at the sun, blue sky, dark-blue water, golden trees and finally find peace. After playing skyrim, I felt this desire, to forget about my daily duties, and go there to the end of the world to understand myself.
i was playing skyrim then i got the perfect 30 second shot far horizons started playing then right when it gets loud (the best part) i go underwater and look up to see a dragon flying through the sky to the mountains then i come out to watch it fly into the horizon tell me that is not skyrim in 30 seconds
5:33 God I remember hearing this when I got the game at 10 years old when it released. Sitting at my grandmothers exploring riverwood and dragonsreach. This is the most beautiful and amazing game I have ever played and will ever play. This music and game will forever have a special place in me.
This music is the most holy thing I or god have ever heard and I play the game just for the Ambeince its so peaceful and holy god SO PEACEFUL 5:33 10:13 both very holy 17:01
In your dreams I hope. Ever stuck arrows in a mix mashed fabric dragon with Talion's bow? Actually I wonder how many people have done shooting in their dreams, because its very satisfying. Bet plenty have shot guns, but how many with bow and arrow? The one other time I dreamed of archery was a dream where I was this man in a time/world-hopping agency. It was sort of mixed in consistency, with the usual video-game real-life mix mash but a pretty cool one nonetheless, I think it was Bioshock Infinite inspired. This example was much more dreaded however... I met myself, and did not like what I saw. This version had gone dark and was actively plotting against the agency, my comrades. A dark trench coat rather complimented the icy demeanor. Though admittedly said friends tended to keep me restrained, stopping me from visiting the timeline instance with my wife, probably for a good reason, now I think back, shenanigans. My daughter was disinterestedly distant, but we 'played' a card game or two. There was this cthulhu influence from the echos/shadow beings thing going on. In the pathways between, I stared down below and flinched.
I was not strong enough or clever enough to overcome him, or our fate. Maybe we should have ran from the start, too late. Before long his second in command assassinated my friends one by one with an elegant black bow while they chased us, all the while we stood there watching, helpless... We were was attempting to figure her out before this. Perhaps get a wrench into this shadow agency. I think she was mocking me, with that arrogant smirk of hers. At our defiance. The rest of it... that other self had found him, I'd rather not speak of the fate of those consumed by the void.
For some reason i did as well, just walked in the front gates and saw the blacksmith, looked in the sky and took a deep breath. Cause my carry limit is 302/300
Skyrim is THE game I could start over again and a again no matter how far I've reached before. It always feels like a totally new and unexplored world. Edit: I must say THANK YOU for all the likes. Never though my comment would reach such a ”popularity” 😅
I really wish I could forget my memories about Skyrim, and play the game just like it's the first time. Really miss Skyrim, the ambient, the music. Time flies. I played this game just like it was yesterday
Maybe download some game changing mods, give it a shot with random start mod, and try to RP your way in the game by placing some limits on your character (for example, you can't wield shields no matter what, or don't buy a horse and walk everywhere). I found this approach to provide countless hours of fun and gives a fresh perspective and ways to experience Skyrim.
The first time i saw this game was when I was 8 my friend got it for his Xbox360 and I saw him get yeeted by a giant. 3 years later I get my first non Nintendo console the Xbox360. And I had Minecraft, modern warfare 3. On a ski trip one of my half brothers that I rarely see brought his ps3 and played Skyrim. As soon as that trip was over I told my mom about it. She bought it for me. My first character was named... I forgot All I remember was I was scared, I hated the skeletons and the spiders and everything. But one thing for sure was.. I stoped playing for 7 months. I matured a little bit and finnaly ventured back in. I completed the quest and had the most fun I ever had in a video game. I never completed the main quest line until I was 14. Now that I’m 16 I’ve come back to obliterate the skeletons that made me fear. By the way I have full dragon body army. Lol.
"Far Horizons" triggers so many memories in my brain... 2011, my best friend was still there, we played Skyrim for so many nights... god, I miss this times so much. My life isn't bad at all, I got a wife, kids, a good job, but 2011 was another time and now, 13 years later, I still remember these times.
“You’re not looking so good. Are you alright?” Never figured out what it was. Maybe the tens of thousands of miles I’ve walked with hundreds of kilograms of dragon bones and steel armpit stripped from my enemies cold bodies? Maybe my vampirism or the fact that my character hasn’t slept for 14 years? Maybe the fact that I’ve chugged so many bottles of minor healing or ate every ingredient I’ve ever collected for the past 7 hours? Maybe it’s that I’ve eaten about 100 kilos of raw meat that I stole from every kitchen and every store room in all of Tamriel? Maybe it’s the poison from the 40 thousand frostbite spiders or the bone chilling cold of hundreds of ice wraiths. Could it be that I’ve been sent to the moon by a giant 10000 times? Or that I’ve been crushed and smashed by hundreds of mammoths and ice trolls. Could be the wounds from killing the king of dragons? Slaying a dragonborn? Defeating the leader of the vampires or collecting every dark prince’s legendary mask? Possibly the millions of hours spent sitting in one position just to get into a general store. Or the diseases from every sleeved I’ve slain or the ratway sewers I’ve swam in. Or it could just be that they’re trying to sell me their potions.
Man, I can only understand what you have been going through all those years... it is pretty much the same for me, I wonder... Maybe those thousands of hours you spent home alone playing Skyrim, eating potato chips and drinking beers while playing? Maybe missing some love? Do you wear the amulet of Mara? It could change your life and improve your well being. I hear Ysolda in Whiterun is still single... Then why not look for a nice home, where you can undress, drop your sword, have a nice dinner and a good night of sleep? You totally deserve it after all you have been going through. I was told that Proudspire Manor in Solitude is still for sale... Such a lovely home to be...
It’s 2011, you get off from school, scramble to your room, switch on your Xbox/PlayStation/pc, and automatically log into your account and listen to the drums of nords, then you get listen to this track as the loading screen shows. Life is good.
Esteban Vaché Agreed, life was good back then, but eventually we all have to grow up and busy ourselves with other things to live. “We work to live, not live to work” But in the end, if you work hard enough you’ll be able to have a bit of the freedom you once had before. I just hope that if there is a “another life”, I would once again feel the excitement and wonders I had when I played Skyrim for the first time.
Chef Shipwreck-5897 in my teenage years getting on ps home was life.. I remember just visiting the hub and the great music and talking to other people. Too bad they took it all down now. 😞
The first ever time coming out of that cave outside of Helgen. The firs time ever looking at Bleak Falls Barrow in the distance while Alduin flies away and the music soars. It was at that time I knew that it was something really special.
For people complaining about not having a skyrim like world, i suggest go trekking or hiking and have this soundtrack in the background maybe put some headphones. You will probably feel like you are in another world.
I never played this game actually. The memories and knowledge I have of this game are from the countless hours watching my older brother playing it. I remember when I was little, I’d sit with my brother and watch him play. He told me to close my eyes at Helgen, watch when the dragon came to save the day. I watched every time he killed a dragon. I begged for him to go to the Throat of the World because it was such a cool place. I wanted him to fight a giant and a mammoth at the same time. I watched all the time, and at least I had so much fun watching. Now some of my fondest nostalgic memories reside in this game’s atmospheric world, and I cherish it. Someday I want to pick up this game and play it, experience it firsthand. But the only way to do that would be to erase his save file, and possibly an entire part of my life. Nowadays my brother is so busy with his adult life I barely ever see him anymore, let alone watch him play any video games. Life changes with the years, but I still remember the good times and nostalgia with this music. It brings me back to simpler times. Now being the age he was back then, I look back on it even more. Thank you Everness for bringing back those good times with this music, because I don’t know if I’ll ever truly experience the wonder of Skyrim the way I did back then~
There's such a magical nostalgia behind this soundtrack that everytime I hear it, it reminds me of home, like walking the streets where you used to live. So many fond memories..
Same goes for hollow knight. Music makes the visuals more meaningful. Even every great film made is great cuz of its well placed soundtrack. Altho Skyrim just feels surreal.
It's kind of like, it really sets the environment for you. It really helps to submerge yourself into the game, to really feel the wonder and fantasy of it all. Legit, take this and sound muffling headphones, go out on a walk, and just notice how it feels like Skyrim-home.
The beauty of skyrim and the insanely good good graphics ( at least compared to other open world games in 2011 ) + the music is what made it so popular
"Got a letter I'm supposed to deliver... Your hands only. Let's see, something about your, oh! Inherentence! With a lot of gold too! Oh and, sorry for your loss." *The inherentence is from the person I killed in the market place*
I remember after the Battle of Whiterun (I sided with the Imperials) I got an inheritance from Severio Pelegia (I think I spelled that right). I was so sad about his death because he was such an honest, hardworking person. I gave all 100 coins to Noster Eagle-Eye in Whiterun.
I'm sorry but was anyone else REALLY attracted to Veezara? I mean, every time I played the game (which must be around 25 times by now) I went the dark brotherhood path just to see him alive again. When I first played, I learned how to marry before I got to the dark brotherhood. When I got to the dark brotherhood, I was immediately attracted to Veezara. I was confused on why you couldn't get him to marry you but then I moved further on into the mission and I was so sad he died that I actually cried.
@@theruthlessfox4289 He's definitely a cool character. Not in the attractive way, but in the fact that he's one of the last Shadowscale members, and is one of the only Brotherhood members in Skyrim who respects the player.
I was listening to these ambients while studying for the exams to getting admitted to university 2 years ago. Now im in med school, studying again and coming back to these ambients. Time flies...
To me, Skyrim is more than just a game. It's world is a great example of the kind of emotional experiences games can deliver that other forms of media can't!
It truly is much more than a game. I, until recently, haven't cried in about a year or so, then just thinking about Skyrim...it all came out. This is truly a masterpiece.
Exactly, i recently started playing it again, i just beat alduin & listened to every cut scene, i absolutely love the stories this game tells, you really need to invest the energy to immerse yourself and care about the world in the game.
@@blakebauman6374 glad I'm not the only one. I put 2000 hours on this game 7 years ago. just listening to the music, all my experiences from that time, how different everything was and I was, I cried....
In my opinion, T.E.S: SKYRIM is not just a GAME, it is a ''spiritual` experience, who played for real, know what I'm saying, the game just teleport you to another world, this is my feeling about the game, miss so much.
And that is why I'm staying the fuck away from VR Tech. A day will come when you can choose to be plugged into this game like the Matrix. I would not want to return.
My spiritual experience last so long until my 40 mins is up because I’m afraid I’ll get a sweet RROD with my 360 like I did with my previous one, so I time myself lol
skyrim definitely changed my life. it changed the way how i viewed, how i think, and how i feel about video games. truly my favourite game of all time. i finished skyrim in one month and a week, clocking 12-18 hours a day, as in almost a 100% percent expect for that stones of barenziah quests and those treasure hunting ones that need maps for clues. every time i play a game, i change the controls to skyrim controls because i got too used to it. arriving to each hold for the very first time was amazing. my favourites are solitude, markarth, whiterun, and riften because there was just so much going on. i became a dual-weilding tank who rarely used magic but did love using stealth for less hassle and shits and giggles. went the imperial route and one of the best moments ever was when general tullius gave me dragonplate armor. joined every faction except for the stormcloaks and the vampires. fave would forever be the dark brotherhood because you kill people and get paid. ended up marrying lydia and adopting two children, alesan and sofie. my companion is always serana and i was actually successful in curing her! playing skyrim for the first time felt magical. it was hard fighting off giants and dragons without the proper equipment but i managed until i got all my skills to legendary. i don't think i will ever get into a game as much as i did with skyrim. it will forever hold a place in my heart. bethesda has gone to shit but this game is truly a gem.
@Joe Kittelson It's a game. And indeed a game with choices that brings out everybody's preferences, but that doesn't mean that you get to degrade someone's way of thinking like this. Everybody experiences the game differently. For you that means siding with the Stormcloaks. For @Scythela that means siding with the Imperials, and for me it was siding with no-one because it made me think about my great-gran's stories of the period between the two world wars. To me it really sucked that there was no way to have the Nords and Imperials align with eachother and drive out the Thalmor. To me, the Stormcloaks feel like nazi's, with their racial purity ("he's a real Nord, he'll come around"), racism towards all other races, and non-human races in particular; the Thalmor feels like the US to me, with their loans and meddling in affairs they don't really understand, having a chokehold on our culture simply because they are better at enforcing it on our own small European countries that are too divided to make a controlled stand against it. But even though the Nords feel like nazi's to me, I'm not calling you one. Because it's just a game. Please respect other people's in-game choices and love them for playing it, instead of hating them for not making the exact same choices as you do.
Now finish it with mods. There are enough mods out there to add easily another 200 hours of solid gameplay without mod conflicts. These are great mods, as well. They add on to the lore with ease.
I'm happy they left the comments on. its beautiful to see so many people coming together in such a peaceful and nostalgic setting. Skyrim's beauty and its awe inspiring ost made by an amazingly talented orchestra then overlayed 3 times to give this effect of pure blissfulness. It almost makes you want to cry..
@Harris Witherden As many as people saying "kids these days". People were saying that shit about the original Xbox/Playstation, the N64, Atari, board games, stick hoop and, I presume, cavemen banging rocks together. Fucking *millions* of people, because between seventy-five and eighty percent of the population can't comprehend the nature of time or art; that what happens tomorrow is never going to be what happened yesterday, and it's allowed to be different. No matter the generation, no matter the time, there will always be bad things. Shitty corporations taking advantage of stupid trends, copycats/clones, and hollow, worthless hunks of crap littering any kind of media you can point to. For example, reality TV shows cloud our vision of amazing shows like Legion or Happy, but they're still there. There will also always be storytellers doing whatever they can to leave their mark on their art, move people to tears with joy, pain, or sheer desire to live in the worlds they create, innovate in their field, and make the world a brighter, more colorful place. And those storytellers will be lumped in with the crap because it's not the "golden age" anymore. Also, Skyrim's on the current gens (Xbox One, PS4, etc.) and will most likely be on the next gen platforms too because it's an all-time classic, so y'all need to chill. It's not a person that's dead and never coming back. It's not a singer who had an overdose and will only be preserved through recordings. Not only can you most likely shut off this video and play the game on whatever system you have right now, but there are still new people finding it (the average ten year-old can quote a passing remark from a Whiterun guard), and the people who grew up playing it will introduce it to their kids. Like these people in the comment section, because if there's anyone who literally can't shut the fuck up about how great Skyrim is, it's people who listen to the music to put them to sleep or to help them focus. Like I should be doing, because this novel's not going to write itself, and it's four in the morning. Here I am, yelling at random strangers about Skyrim instead of nurturing my poor neglected characters. Neglected because I've been yelling about Skyrim instead of writing. This shit's not dead.
Skyrim is one of those games I feel a deep love and nostalgia for. The unfortunate thing is that I can never bring myself to begin playing it again after doing basically all there is to do in it. No amount of mods can fill one of my favorite games with as much wonder and whimsy as when I first played it. Listening to this almost brings me to tears as I realize this fact.
I would advice you roleplay, don't be the Dragonborn, be a hunter, be a loner who avoids all people, be whoever you want to be. I have played Skyrim once, for 60 hours, then unfortunately, my save got deleted, I got it back months later, lost the desire to play that save, and started again only to realize after about 5 hours of playing that I didn't have the time to play it. Someday I'll go back, and work on picking up where I left off. My point is I haven't played it to exhaustion like you, so I can go back, and play the Dragonborn knight I was, but for you, you're going to have to be creative if you want to experience something new in Skyrim.
Chances are if you said you did everything, you haven’t, I have 4000 hours and haven’t seen everything, mostly mods get in the way, without mods it’s still incredibly detailed, I suggest watching nearly all top 10 things you don’t know, while playing Skyrim.
OberonFK, I can totally see where you’re coming from. I absolutely love everything about this game and I have a deep love for the environments especially. But I cannot seem to get back into it after beating the whole game, including the DLC’s. I usually come back to it every year and replay it. There’s something satisfying about doing the game over and being sort of weak at the beginning, and then becoming stronger. But, that is the point where I usually stop playing. I’ve tried all the mods available (At least for the PS4) to the point where I have no interest in playing sadly. That’s why I’m so excited for ES6. I want to have a new experience in a ES game and have my mind blown again, and have new memories (hopefully!)
I feel so sad now knowing I don't have the time to play it again as I used to, it's literally loosing an entire world and all I get in exchange is reality.
So true. The first 6 months this game came out, I played nonstop. When I get back to a comfortable bank account, I'm gonna take time off and binge play again. What a masterpiece
Society is the real problem, things have gotten so bad people have given up. They retreat to places like Skyrim to grasp at the last remaining strands of what the world use to be, what it like it should be, while the world continues to destroys itself. Don't blame a lone person who retreats to a video game to find normalcy, blame society as a whole.
Reasons I love Skyrim: 1. Adventure 2. Huge open world 3. Vast amount of lure 4. Diverse Biomes/locations/characters/quests/factions 5. Discovery 6, Mystery 7.Feel of importance 8. Soo many weapons clases 9. Magic 10. Great dlcs 11. Music 12. Dungeons 13. The feeling of nostalgia going back to river wood or even white run remembering your first time 14. Graphics/visuals and the views at the top of a mountain 15. So peaceful and tranquil to just walk around 16. Dawn guard 17. Just the atmosphere of the game I might have respected myself but this game means so much to me I know it sounds sad but this game literally raised me my parents always argued and having a world to escape to and meeting and chatting to characters as if a world known warrior meant the world to me. Thank you Skyrim.👋
I seriously love you, because honestly, I feel the exact same. My parents never argued, but I don't feel like my irl life was fulfilling enough for me to actually want to live it. Skyrim was an escape from my boring, every day life. It's my #1 game, and every 6 months I decide to play it again and I experience it like it was my first time all over again and play for hundreds of hours before eventually doing other things. Skyrim fulfills me whenever I'm down bad, even today.
Taking a walk in the forest while listening to this is the most relaxing experience of my life. Just made my way to the lake in it and it feels like getting to a new area. Beautiful
Have you tried survival mode + legendary difficulty + inmersive mods and camping stuff... it's really a big challenge, try to play it with different characters. This turns into a completely different game!
I remember the day I bought this game from GameStop, I remember playing the opening like a hundred times because I had no idea where to go when alduin struck helgen. I remember fearing draugur death Lord's more than life itself when I was a low level. I remember intentionally walking from location to location on foot, because my favorite bit of the soundtrack was playing. And now today as an adult, I still play this Masterpiece of a game, new account after new account, constantly getting more of the same feeling i got when I first played it, what an absolute gem of a game, this game is a spiritual experience.
Aye...I have played it fairly recently, but I have memories with it as well. I ran with Hadvar...through the Standing Stones...he took me to Riverwood. I remember being smashed into the ground by a giant. I remember killing a dragon...with no shield but just running and charging it like a bold Nord warrior. I remember being called 'Dragonborn'. I remember being stuck in a room full of draugr with my companion friend Falkas...both of us fighting and me protecting his when he fell. Aye mate...Skyrim is one hell of a game...
I listen to this every morning while reading. It’s so relaxing and comforting. Especially with summer around the corner. Currently reading “Dune” by Frank Herbert. Great book. Recommend.
Can't find the comment now, but I left one about two years ago saying thanks for the work you did, it helps my wife and I de-stress and helps out daughter fall asleep. Still works :-)
"Far Horizons" opening french horn takes my breath away. I just love it. Skyrim and the Witcher 3 are the games I'm obsessed with. Their soundtracks and ambient music are unmatched!
There's no better instrument than the french horn to play a majestic melody. Soule made the right choice here. He could have had the strings play that line but the feeling would have been totally different. Majestic horn, soft celli underneath, probably some synth in there too. Just a great great track, sonically speaking, and the melody itself is beautiful, I find myself humming it all the time lol
To those of you saying this makes you want to re-play Skyrim: the best advice I can give you is to roleplay a brand new character of *your* own fantasy. Something that corresponds to your character and your fantasy wishes. Play it like it's your first time, start reading the quests again, start exploring caves and ruins just because, and ditch fast-travel. I promise you'll like it :) I'm currently playing a Dunmer sorcerer, who sinks further down the dark path to necromancy and vampirism, ignorant of the Civil War or his "destiny" as a Dragonborn, for now. I have picked a small necromancer cave as my home, hiding my work from the prying eyes of guards and wary citizens. The cave is well equipped, with a sacrificial altar, an enchanting table, and an alchemist table. I have been collecting books on necromancy and Dunmer rituals, and keeping them on a shelf to the side of the altar.
Rosen Kostov playing as High Elf as a Conjuring and Restoration mage. And soon to be Arch Mage of College of Winterhold. TBH i like the Bound Sword magic. It's good while I indirectly lvl up my one handed
Conjuring + Restoration means you basically have no means of actual combat. The bound sword is pretty bad after, say, 20lvl. Even more so if you're not playing a fighter type. My advice is to either swing towards a spellsword or towards a mage. The way you're playing right now you'll get stuck/frustrated at around 30-40lvl. The summoner type doesn't work when enemies focus you and ignore your atronachs/undead - this forces you to run around like a headless chicken waiting for them to switch targets. I've had fights where all I did was run in circles and heal myself with two followers, an atronach, and an undead chasing my target...
Rosen Kostov yeah i do this. Now iam roleplaying a honorable and glorius and good warrior of the light, something like paladins in wow. I dont use daedric artefacts of evil daedra, only dawnbreaker and azura star. I didnt join Dark brotherhood od thiefe guild. In the past i roleplayed for example a warrior corrupted by evil daedra. I was a vampire killing everyone crossed my path. Other was for example a lich who once was archmage but fallen in battle. Then he raised as lich. Its very fun to roleplay as character with theyr own stories, not just only dragon born.
Yesterday I realized I hadn't played a Stormcloak character in a long, long time, so I decided to do so. Currently playing a big fat bearded nord with shaved head, scars and warpaint on his face. I just read through a lot of comments, this really helps me sleep and it brings me back to the good days when I watched my mom play this when I couldn’t sleep and I’d drift away to the music and she’d carry me to my room. I would do anything for that again, anything.
@@malikmamo Who knows? Maybe. Maybe not. I played Skyrim and I understand what you're saying: Skyrim is Freedom. Skyrim is Beauty. Skyrim is Immersive and Fun. And even more...
Anemoia - Nostalgia for a time you've never known. Imagine stepping through the frame into a sepia-tinted haze, where you could sit on the side of the road and watch the locals passing by. Who lived and died before any of us arrived here, who sleep in some of the same houses we do, who look up at the same moon, who breathe the same air, feel the same blood in their veins-and live in a completely different world.
MikeG82 This game has been remastered, so it’s definitely beyond holding its own. Some video games do age well. This game has far better mechanics than most newer titles out currently. Like Fortnite for example. This game is far more superior than Fortnite. There is a lot more to do in Skyrim without the repetitiveness. In Fortnite all you can really do is drop in, loot, attack a few players, and repeat. Not only that but Fortnite doesn’t have a story at all. Skyrim actually has a story and a larger map. In fact it’s almost ridiculous how an “older” game has more content and better gameplay mechanics than a “newer” game. Overall this game has not only aged well, but it can also outlive any recently released title. Once Fortnite’s servers shut down the game will be nothing but a memory. Skyrim on the other hand will go on to live forever, as one of the greatest video games of all time.
Played Skyrim vr with graphic enchancments, and walking through the forest with this music, seeing un rays coming through the trees and actually being there is undescribable enjoyment
You were trying to cross the border right? Walked right into that imperial ambush, same as us, and that horse thief over there. Damn you stormcloaks, Skyrim was fine until you came along. Empire was nice and lazy. I could have stolen that horse and been halfway to Hammerfell. Hey you, we shouldn't be here. It's these stormcloaks the empire wants. We're all Brothers in binds now thief. And that's all I remember for now
Listening to this while driving makes it seem like you’re going on a really important quest....I was going to McDonald’s and it made my chicken nuggets taste legendary. EDIT: damn 1.5K! You guys are awesome. Good to know people still love this game
It’s not surprising how many people actually feel the same way that I do about Skyrim and it’s ambience, I still play it after taking breaks I’m back to it, the ambience puts me at ease in hard time of my life, feels like home, if I decide to put music on for sleep this is my go to, will always have a deep love for this world and it’s lore, the guy who orchestrated this soundtrack put his heart and soul into this and couldn’t of made it more perfect to match this amazing world.
Its so painfull and peaceful at the same time. If someone who played it in 2012 hears this, i think you have the same feelings that i have right now... its music like no other music... and the scenery makes it complete... i love this game man... hurts in the feels [edit] thanks for the likes guys! I started playing skyrim again not a long time ago, and love it!
Cmiiw, maybe its bcs modding in Skyrim is far easier than in another game? And also perhaps making mods for skyrim is easier than for another game.. possibly.
Has something to do with the fact it's the crown jewel of Bethesda's franchise and they really need to recognize it for what it is: both as their baby and their finest masterpiece to date, possibly of all time. The good mods are the ones that are lore-friendly and simply enhance the game-play by making it more immersive and realistic. Ones like un-censoring the v 1.4 nudity/"enhanced" gore/"clean version" of prostitution/child-killing that got cut out (add in Forsworn and bandit kid mods for the moral dilemma of fighting and faced with having to kill in self-defense a child sent to do an adult's work), realistic physics, more realistic weapons and weapon proportions, spears and throwing weapons like they had in "Morrowind", better vampires, "Civil War Overhaul" to add back in all the battles and make them bigger and badder, "Cutting Room Floor" to add more characters and quests, "Skyrim Children Overhaul" for more children and kids of all races to be seen (including even orcs) mixed with the mods for Khajiit kittens and Argonian hatchlings (Lars is also even made to look more like his dad), realistic animal behavior, realistic hunting, survival mods like "Frostfall" used in tandem with "Campfire", realistic weather and shelter effects, hunger and thirst mods, and "Immersive Lover's Comfort" to go with those physics and nudity for a nice experience with your spouse among other things to make the game more like you live in that world and are a part of a real experience. Bullshit mods like Thomas the Tank Engine and Predator (not Predator-vision, which should be used blended with better vampires) along with everyone wanting their females to look like unrealistically proportioned Brazilian runway models or for guys to have hair like anime character, those are just an insult to the makers of the game and the game itself, to the story, and world they have created. Skyrim is amazing, and good mods only make the game a better experience for all of us (while stupid ones and the ones who use them ruin it).
Something about all these songs is so magical and mysterious. I try to put my finger on it, but I can't. Saying they are incredible is an understatement.
Until 5 minutes in some dude shoots you from 100 yards away with a 5million damage bow he cheesed alchemy for, strips you naked n sells your shit to a giant cat for some sugar
I have been playing one year now with few months brakes. I started modding yester day and its so fun. I modded normal jump to backflips and a few punching and kicking animations
My heart breaks knowing we won’t get another masterpiece like this ever again. This was a once in a lifetime. Literally one time experience. I don’t know what it is about Skyrim that no other game has. I don’t know how something can be so perfect. Just all the beautiful memories and perfect feels. I was in love when the first time I played Skyrim back in 2013. Love you Bethesda. FUCKING LOVE YOU. ❤️.
All Elder Scrolls games have always had that immersive feel to it, Ive been playing since Morrowind through oblivion and then skyrim. Each game was just amazing.
I really love the fact that there's a slight movement in all these sceneries! I sometimes play your videos in full-screen mode while I have friends or family staying at my place. My parents, especially my mum, was really fascinated about how beautiful computer games can be. She had no idea. You succeeded in capturing the great landscapes and stunning music of Skyrim. Keep up the good work!
My parents are the same. I'm 27 and I've been playing games since 10, thanks to them of course, but they never looked at games as something more than just that. Games like Skyrim, however, have had them stop and stare at my screen for a moment, asking me "which movie is that?". :) Good old times... I wonder how they'd react if they could see any of the modern RPGs.
Myrin I wouldn’t worry too much I have a friend who was a game dev on 76 for a short bit and he pretty much assured me that es6 and star bound are gonna be pretty good and the main reason 76 failed was because it was months to years away from being finished was put on a shoestring budget and the dev team was way to small for the actual project
This in my honest opinion is one of mankind's greatest creations. I mean that in the most serious way possible. Hundreds of thousands of people love this game and explore it. Each in a different way. So so many hours put into by everyone. It wait literally makes you feel as if you ARE your chapter exploring the gorgeous and dangerous world. My favorite game if all time is BloodBorne but Skyrim is the greatest game I have ever played. There so much to it in a way it is it's own world.
I think everybody loved the moments when one just finished a hard quest and finally leaves the damn cave and hears this music and enjoys the beautiful landscape

-Paarthurnax
If you killed Paarthurnax you deserved to get executed in the opening scene.

“You’re not looking so good. Are you alright?”
Never figured out what it was.
Homeboy, I'm detecting a case of the rattles.

Choosing to walk not run
I love how Skyrim’s ambience musics are calm and inspire strength at same time.
let's be honest, music was the main key for this game becoming the masterpiece it is
Same goes for hollow knight. Music makes the visuals more meaningful. Even every great film made is great cuz of its well placed soundtrack.
Altho Skyrim just feels surreal.
And combat!

omg 20 likes, thank you so much!
The power of music.. Use it wisely, yeah?

I'm sorry but was anyone else REALLY attracted to Veezara? I mean, every time I played the game (which must be around 25 times by now) I went the dark brotherhood path just to see him alive again. When I first played, I learned how to marry before I got to the dark brotherhood. When I got to the dark brotherhood, I was immediately attracted to Veezara. I was confused on why you couldn't get him to marry you but then I moved further on into the mission and I was so sad he died that I actually cried.
@@theruthlessfox4289 He's definitely a cool character. Not in the attractive way, but in the fact that he's one of the last Shadowscale members, and is one of the only Brotherhood members in Skyrim who respects the player.

skyrim definitely changed my life. it changed the way how i viewed, how i think, and how i feel about video games. truly my favourite game of all time.
i finished skyrim in one month and a week, clocking 12-18 hours a day, as in almost a 100% percent expect for that stones of barenziah quests and those treasure hunting ones that need maps for clues. every time i play a game, i change the controls to skyrim controls because i got too used to it.
arriving to each hold for the very first time was amazing. my favourites are solitude, markarth, whiterun, and riften because there was just so much going on.
i became a dual-weilding tank who rarely used magic but did love using stealth for less hassle and shits and giggles. went the imperial route and one of the best moments ever was when general tullius gave me dragonplate armor. joined every faction except for the stormcloaks and the vampires. fave would forever be the dark brotherhood because you kill people and get paid. ended up marrying lydia and adopting two children, alesan and sofie. my companion is always serana and i was actually successful in curing her!
playing skyrim for the first time felt magical. it was hard fighting off giants and dragons without the proper equipment but i managed until i got all my skills to legendary. i don't think i will ever get into a game as much as i did with skyrim.
it will forever hold a place in my heart. bethesda has gone to shit but this game is truly a gem.
@Joe Kittelson we all have our own ways. Don't be racist towards imperials

@@Lucas-cz5rw Same as Minecraft, it's never gone anywhere.
Whoever said it was gone?
This shit's not dead.

cannot deny, they did a good job making this game.
I did the same thing but played around 1200 hours with my brother, I'm not really sure why its such a good game, possibly just the ambiance.

I promise you'll like it :)
I'm currently playing a Dunmer sorcerer, who sinks further down the dark path to necromancy and vampirism, ignorant of the Civil War or his "destiny" as a Dragonborn, for now.
I second the ditching of fast travel. Its my first playthrough and it's in VR. I want to remember every little rock formation and river I see
Rosen Kostov yeah i do this.
Heavy armor + 2hand. Apply axe to problem until problem solves itself. First thing I did was join the Stormcloaks, but when I took over Whiterun my quest glitched so now I'm kinda stuck... I guess I'll do the main chain until Whiterun fixes itself or I find the commands to fix the quest.

Witcher 3 and Morrowind
I thought Mirror's Edge was pretty good. Same kind of deal with the atmospheric music

Walked in a forest with this playing in my earbuds, best experience I've ever had.
Shit, gotta try that, we have some beautiful forests in sweden.
Its so painfull and peaceful at the same time. If someone who played it in 2012 hears this, i think you have the same feelings that i have right now... its music like no other music... and the scenery makes it complete... i love this game man... hurts in the feels
[edit] thanks for the likes guys! I started playing skyrim again not a long time ago, and love it!
What about Danheim?
Ian Yang Same dude I played it when I was 8 the year it came out.
God, I don't know why I love this game so much...
Its pure magical.
"Your not gonna kill me!"

That is one tough quest.
Skyrim still has one of the strongest modding communities today, nearly 6 years after it came out
IKR! There are more mods coming out than Fallout 4
Cmiiw, maybe its bcs modding in Skyrim is far easier than in another game? And also perhaps making mods for skyrim is easier than for another game.. possibly.
All of BGS' games do. They're known for it.
Because there are mods that fix things in skyrim that bethesta could not..
5 years later and I'm still blessed with this video
Something about all these songs is so magical and mysterious. I try to put my finger on it, but I can't.
Saying they are incredible is an understatement.
Id give my life just to be able to wander skyrim with this music and the sounds of nature around me.
Until 5 minutes in some dude shoots you from 100 yards away with a 5million damage bow he cheesed alchemy for, strips you naked n sells your shit to a giant cat for some sugar
hahaha
Why not just give 80 bucks to best buy for a copy of the game and some nice headphones 🤷🏾♂️

I wonder if thats what heaven is like
I need this music to play as the background of my everyday life.
Get earbuds and do it just like I do!
By the nine divines YES, make this the background music of our lives please.
Yes ! YES !
With battle music for when you are getting robbed, useful in latin america xD
whenever im going on walks outside i listen to this
I'm new to Skyrim and I've been playing it for a good handful of hours, it's just beautiful, now I understand why it's a game that will never die
Now we wait to see what ES6 has in store for us....
snek hopefully another masterpiece that will move us all. And , PLEASE NO BATTLE ROYALE !!
All Elder Scrolls games have always had that immersive feel to it, Ive been playing since Morrowind through oblivion and then skyrim. Each game was just amazing.
Irish Dribble I gotchu homie 👌🏻💯
Mate, ES6 will probably be even better.
I have beaten Skyrim 100% and I have made my character just walk around Skyrim doing good deeds listening to this and I love it
You haven’t beat Skyrim 100% if you never quick saved them start killing everyone in whiterun
@@confusedkoala694 lmao true. Start with Heimskr first
I really love the fact that there's a slight movement in all these sceneries! I sometimes play your videos in full-screen mode while I have friends or family staying at my place. My parents, especially my mum, was really fascinated about how beautiful computer games can be. She had no idea. You succeeded in capturing the great landscapes and stunning music of Skyrim. Keep up the good work!
And probably your mum doesn't have the slightest interest in playing Skyrim...
but maybe she does. maybe she'll be the next great dragonborn mom
A. Becker "computer games"
Almost all FPS games have head bob.
Is it just me or does anyone else like to work to this music? So peaceful and relaxing
You're certainly not alone! :)
The Elder Scrolls is genuinely one of the best fantasy rpg games out there.
Can't wait for TES6.
Lets hope Todd doesn't fuck it up
He's gonna fuck it up ;_;
I hope so too
Gillian Daemon I would imagine that he’s learned from Fallout 76, but it’s Bethesda we’re talking about. So then again, maybe not.

I've never encountered music that defines a world so much as this does. Without it, it would just feel empty...
Jeremy Soule is a genius
LOTR soundtrack does that for me. But, I agree that Skyrim soundtrack also has the same energy.
The Witcher 3?
"From Past To Present" 17:03 Brings back alot of memory's. Love the soundtrack.
Definitely the song that produced the most feeling for me
this cures my anxiety for a bit
