Hang in there, don’t give up. I have been fasting since March, I vary my fast 13,16,18,20 hrs and 3,5day water fast and 3day dry fast (I did brush and shower). At first it seemed nothing was working, then the clarity, energy, strength kicked in and I was motivated. I started adding walks, I noticed I was shivering after my 30mins-1hr walk. I learnt it was because I was burning sugar. Overtime that stopped. I was able to add some exercises and now I’ve gone from looking 6months pregnant everyday to people saying you are now a skinny girl. When I say I went from a UK12-8, you’ll say oh but she wasn’t fat. No, I was. I’m a woman with B-cup and size 40inch waist suffering from hair loss, facial hair, fibromyalgia, PCOS, insomnia etc. the fibromyalgia symptoms are gone, my stomach is disappearing. I feel my liver is being regenerated. I have energy to carry out my daily tasks, I no longer spend my time watching videos of miserable people suffering from similar conditions on UA-cam, it just drains you. It felt good knowing the symptoms I was complaining to my GP wasn’t in my head, but I knew I had to find a solution. Insulin resistance is the root cause of many disease factors and fasting holds the key to it’s reversal. I am happy and grateful to Dr Jason Fung and Dr. Mindy for sharing their knowledge FoC. Especially when it comes to fasting for women, I now know why I struggle fasting before and during my period. I am not following diet labels like keto, vegan etc, I eat a variety of healthy foods, but very low in processed carbs (bread, pasta, rice, biscuits, cakes). I don’t even crave them, I can shop in Lidl and not buy anything from the pastry section no matter the aromatic bombing attack. You can do it too, just don’t give up.

I have hairloss and new facial hair in the chin area. I still haven't found the cause nor know how to fix it. I have already been IF for a year and it hasn't helped. It didn't get worse, but didn't help either. Is your facial hair, and hair loss better now?
@@mel_b2346 when a health issue already exists there is no one size fits all approach and it will take time to heal what’s already broken (no quick fixes). I am trying electrolysis for the facial hair, I haven’t used a razor 6weeks in. I also came across derma rolling or micro needling for hair re-growth, I am trying the derma rolling and I’m still on a dermatology waiting list 3years in (I pity Americans who what social healthcare, I’m in Ireland 🇮🇪 it took 5years to diagnose my PCOS, O have health insurance and my husband is also a medical doctor. Thank God for common sense and UA-cam, I really had nothing to lose and gained health etc). I don’t know where you are, but I’ll say find a healthcare professional to guide you.
@@newt1834 this makes sense. I've been trying to increase my electrolytes as well. I did not do this at the beginning of my fasting journey. I didn't know i was supposed to. It did not make hairloss worse, but still not good. I hope increasing electrolytes will help. I am too Is trying to see a dermatologist. Thank you again.
Having a 1/2 an avocado with sea salt as my dinnertime back up plan has changed my whole experience of ADF. It has gotten me through so many 36 hours fasts when I wanted to quit and eat dinner 20-24 hours into my window. On those days when I'm struggling that 1/2 avocado totally hits the spot and gets me back on track until the next morning. Thanks for the tip Dr. Mindy!!
@@mattk8810 In this video dr Mindy says that you can eat half an avocado and it won’t break your fast but will help you fast longer…the key point was that you could have a fasting snack as long as it was full fat which is what avocados are.
In the video, she just explained that you don't. Depends how you define a fast. Her primciples revolve around ketosis and autophagy Ketosis is broken when blood sugar/glucose goes up a certain level and Autophagy is broken when protein goes up a certain level. Half an avocado is primarily fat and does not break ketosis or autophagy. @mattk8810
I was so chuffed with my blood sugar levels this weekend. I wanted to see what the effect of nut butter would be as a fasted snack because I was really hungry and had a few more hours to go before breaking my fast. Tested before I had a spoon of nut butter and again an hour later. My blood sugar actually went down!! So happy!!
I've done Low Carb and Dasting for 4 years now. Lost 25 lbs , 9" off my waist 5" off my hips and gained 2" in my chest. I do OMAD now, never hungry. The anti-aging and health benefits are incredible. Healed my back problems, reversed my Ste 3 Chronic Kidney Didease and lowered my blood pressure. I am 66 and some people say I look in my 40's. Just stage 3 Chronic Kidney Disease I never had a biopsy to determine the cause. My GFR went from 32 to 68 in 2 yrs doing keto and fasting. I did not limit my protein. 50gm carbs , 40gm protein 65 gm fat.
My goal is 4 days of water fast, but this time I'm on 73 hours and my hunger is really attacking me, so I ate avocado as my fasted snack. I'm trying to push through for 96 hours (4 days) until tomorrow. I can do this. 💪😊
Like you said in another video, mix up your fasting schedule. So i have a tiny avocado when doing my normal 16:8 at hour 16, then I'm able to fast 2 more hours. So then it will be 18:6. You are so awesome and thanks for caring about all of us ❤ no ones getting hurt by eating right!
Electrolytes absolutely save my life. I have them twice a day for headaches. Even though I've been fasting for years (everything from 18 -72 hrs) I'm still really metabolically resistant and struggle switching to fat stores. Electrolytes and 90%+ fat snacks make fasting a sustainable lifestyle that I know is healing my body 🙏
I so appreciate the common sense that you have in approaching fasting! I'm a recovering perfectionist and I can tell you that one of the big turn off factors in this field for me are the purists out there who treat fasting like a competition and comparison ego trip. I had no idea either...I was in Keto before, but got terrible constipation. Now I am trying the 16/8 fast due to fatty liver and Gaul stones..doing much better.
@@theHoff1974 Anything you eat technically breaks a fast. However, a lot depends on what you are looking to achieve by the fast. You'll lose gut rest for sure if you eat a small salad. But you may still get autophagy and weight loss, because a little bit of greens and a small amount of oil won't spike insulin much. Best plan though is to stick to your fast and not eat. But if a TINY bit of food would help you extend your fast a few hours more, it might be worth it.
@@GrayHomeVideo Thank you so much! I was a bit unclear, but that makes sense to me. Autophagy is my main goal but not my only goal. On my eating days I still plan to go OMAD and relatively light as I still have about 40lbs to go to meet my BMI and weight goals.🙂
Ive bever been able to fast correctly until I found your channel and your book! I am now moving into a healthier state of mind (clarity increases continuously) the joint pain and swelling/inflammation is reducing daily too! I take my mind of "weight/fat loss" and I focus on how I FEEL! I know the fat will drop as I commit to the processes and the processes are making such radical shifts with my body. I had the WORST periods for the last several years and as I hit 50, I had nearly no periods but all the efects of pms + Last week I finally had a period and there were no symptoms! No crippling headaches, back pain, swelling and feelings of despair and I know its bc of listening to your book and following you religiously on youtube! THANK YOU SO MUCH for all that you do

I have only been doing fasting for a couple months. Ive done a few 24 hr fasts and this month fasted based in my cycle as you recommended. Love LMNT! Broke through a weight loss plateau. Its slow going even with low carb, But i have hormone issues and losing anything is a win for me. And i see certain jeans and dresses fitting better! I've been in "fasting training" for about 3 months.I've felt the benefits, but after an initial 4 pound weight loss, I hit a plateau. I would like to lose about 30. I've started protein cycling, and wow do I feel the difference. Thank you Dr. Mindy for promising that this would work! I do 18 hours fasts most cycles.

I had a teaspoon of 100% peanut butter on my 36-hour fast, it helped finish the fast. I always feel like I’m breaking the fast when I do that though but measured my blood glucose before/after once and it was actually lower after eating it!
I have done 21 days fast, drunk only water, good mineral Polish water with plenty of minerals ('Muszynianka mineral water'. Its total mineralization is 1993.64 mg/l. My PCOS dissapeared 😊😅 It was almost 5 years ago, I was 46 at that time and all my life I've heard that my ovaries are full of cysts. I've got to sound very surprised keto cups I introduced his number one because not only are they expensive, if you need to have two or three of them it's not that great of a snack. also I found that pickles are the most fantastic snack because they're crunchy and have no calories no sugar and all the salt you need to replenish.

Key takesway on fasted snack :if you need it to prolong your fast. Keto cup 1-2 mct oil in it, nut butter (no almond) like pecan or walnut + ghee tbs, avocado with sea salt & bone broth. Just a little snack to push thru. Put mct in your coffee as well. Minerals lmnt help.

I think it depends on what you eat. I went carnivore two years ago and can easily fast for 3-4 days without prep or worrying about it. I think if you eat any carbs, it becomes harder. I also do think taking electrolytes while fasting helps a lot of ppl. I have tried it both with and without and there was no difference I could tell for myself.
@@seanveach950 I’ll try the electrolytes! I don’t eat carbs really, chicken and salad for me every day, omad. I’m 39 and was diagnosed with pcos a while ago & trying to reverse the insulin resistance. I tried carnivore but I live in Korea at the moment & it’s a bit expensive to keep up 😩

Im am a beginner at fasting, Im 5 days in so far. Thanks Dr Mindy for these hacks, i didnt know. So far, ive done 2- 17 hr fasts, 1-24 hr fast and today was a 20 hr fast. I am struggling a little for ideas as to what to eat to break a fast. I watched a video and bought some kimchi and another jar of sourkraut to add to lunch/dinner. I made a smoothie w/spinach, coconut water, arugula, 1/2 whole lemon, 1" ginger, banana, straw&blue berries, powdered greens, chia seeds and flax seeds. It gave me a little bit of a stomach ache... the greens dont seem to settle too well. Im really loving how i feel after 17+ hours. I feel like i could conquer the world! Thanks again mi dy. I received your book in the mail tonight, i think i should have gotten the audible version...that will be next. BTW, I'm 73 so i need to follow the moon schedule for starting/stopping fasting, right?

Hi Dr.. Mindy!! This also helps people who have already started fasting. I didn't know any of this when I first started a year ago. I wish I'd found you then! :) I start to get irritable at the 18hr hour. And I haven't done a 24 hour yet because of hair loss. I don't have bald spots, but I do see an excessive amount of hair in my brush after brushing my hair. This started since before fasting, and after having my baby. I noticed this 3 years ago and have not been able to get help for it 🙏
There's some vitamins missing in your diet and could also be hormonal. Are you taking a good prenatal vitamin post, baby? I had same issue, but partly because I left my hair in a protective style (braids) too long after birth due to nursing and pumping schedule draining me. It's been a year, so some hair has grown back, but it may take a few years to be back at full hair back. My edges (front of hair) were bad. A lot of issues come from low iron or thyroid issues. Get them check by your dr/ health care professional. But I think your hair loss is not related to fasting as long as you eat enough protein and take a good organic, if possible, prenatal vitamin. 😊 I hope this helps.
I love all your videos and tips. Any tips on how to use up all my energy to sleep faster? I workout 5 times a week and bowl 3 nights a week fast on a 20:4 schedule 7 days a week lost over 38lbs went from a XXL to a slim fit large in just a little over 2 months. I sleep fine and average 7 hours min a night but feel I can still do so much more in a day. I sometimes workout mornings and night to wear myself out but I guess the fat burning keeps my energy levels up. TIA doc!
I've just started AFD thinking I had fastest for 24hrs x2, then realised this morning I've been fasting for 36hrs. Surprisingly very minimal hunger pains, more thoughts of food, then feeling hungry. Decided just to weigh in weekly! Also focused on my mindset during the fasting days.✨
I took your advice with those keto cups eating 1 or two a day when I wanted a little something and the hazelnut is absolutely amazing. But then I got addicted to them. I ended up eating 7 in a day. Then I got really bad sulfur farts. I think it was the Jerusalem artichoke. I stopped eating them and my stinky farts went away.
I love the Keto Cups but they are so dang expensive, like $12 dollars for a package of 7. I can only eat 1 because the MCT oil in them have me running to the bathroom. But they do satisfy like nothing else, even better than nut butter. For a nut butter I really like the Nutzo Nut and Seed Butters, both the regular and the cacao versions. I'm not a fan of avocado so I don't eat it, but 3-4 raw walnuts are also really good at extending a fast. And I really like the LMNT chocolate mint, which I drink as a replacement for hot chocolate in the morning instead of coffee. I'm not wild about the other flavors of LMNT, but I do drink the citrus version (it's not horrible) and it helps when fasting. The watermelon tastes like a Jolly Rancher watermelon (not a fan). The orange is similar to Tang (again, not a fan). I wish LMNT would come up with flavors that are less artificial tasting. Meanwhile I will stick with the chocolate mint and the citrus. I will say that the longer the fast, the better the LMNT tastes to me. So, if I'm just doing intermittent fast, LMNT tastes "ok", but if I'm doing a 5-day water-only fast, then LMNT tastes like an amazing treat. My most favorite electrolyte drink is Ultima Grape; I absolutely love it. You can find it at Thrive Market or on Amazon.
It’s also really easy and cheap to make your own fat bombs!! I can’t buy keto cups in my area but I love the slimfast (of all companies) keto fat bomb in lemon drop flavour. They are coated in keto white chocolate and so good and don’t trigger rebound cravings like many dirty “keto” snacks

Dr. Mindy pelz Can I we use veggie broth instead Bone broth because I’m vegan, to break my 80 hour fast?…. And I broke my three day water fast wrong the last time I did it gave me a horrible stomach ache… I know you said to use bone broth…. But if you break your fast wrong do you still get the benefits from the fast?

Since July, I have been doing OMAD except for maybe a couple times every three months. When I’m having issues, I will put MCT oil and butter in my coffee. It stops me from desiring to eat… Which is usually some thing that’s in my brain and not really some thing that my body needs. So, I highly recommend MCT oil or just take a bite out of some butter. It works great.
Fasting is such a relief! I’m on OMAD. In this economy with prices skyrocketing I have saved so much money not eating until dinner. Now if my boys could get on this bandwagon we’d be golden! it’s difficult to get someone to start when they just don’t understand and don’t care to really learn. All sooooo true! Thanks Dr. Mindy!! I just returned from an 8 Week Rd. trip where I ate and drank everything on my vacation. It was wonderful. Felt like I needed to regroup when I got home so I fasted. I did a 79 hour fast, 3 1/2 days! I feel great. Broke my fast with homemade sauerkraut and some nut butter. Feeling amazingly rebalanced! Also, was so refreshed by drinking LMNT in my water.
Just realised it’s not starving but special fat snacks. I have all these in my cupboard, I’m 75 have slimmed down with Keto but the stomach ! Now understand. Thank you, this will work.

I absolutely love LMNT and Redmonds Re-lyte, however, they both raise my blood sugar. Is there a reason why they would do this to me, but not to others?
Every time I do a longer fast 36 or 48 hr I get a crazy reaction, the first 2 I got the shits and I thought how is that possible because I haven't eaten anything, the next 2 fast I had severe case of night sweats, I was drenched. I do a 22 hr fast almost everyday with no crazy effects . Years ago I had cancer, Large B cell non Hodgkins lymphoma, stage 4 so they pumped a ton of toxins into me, I am wondering if there is still lots of demons in the cells, wondering if any of your other treatments may help.

Hi Mindy - I eat almond butter every day. How do I know if it’s not agreeing with me? I love it and for the most part I feel great. I break my fast w/ it along with eggs and full fat plain Greek yogurt. Love ur channel and u!!

I am trying electrolysis for the facial hair, I haven’t used a razor 6weeks in. I also came across derma rolling or micro needling for hair re-growth, I am trying the derma rolling and I’m still on a dermatology waiting list 3years in (I pity Americans who what social healthcare, I’m in Ireland 🇮🇪 it took 5years to diagnose my PCOS, O have health insurance and my husband is also a medical doctor. Thank God for common sense and UA-cam, I really had nothing to lose and gained health etc). I don’t know where you are, but I’ll say find a healthcare professional to guide you.
@@newt1834 this makes sense. I've been trying to increase my electrolytes as well. I did not do this at the beginning of my fasting journey. I didn't know i was supposed to. It did not make hairloss worse, but still not good. I hope increasing electrolytes will help. I am too Is trying to see a dermatologist. Thank you again.
Having a 1/2 an avocado with sea salt as my dinnertime back up plan has changed my whole experience of ADF. It has gotten me through so many 36 hours fasts when I wanted to quit and eat dinner 20-24 hours into my window. On those days when I'm struggling that 1/2 avocado totally hits the spot and gets me back on track until the next morning. Thanks for the tip Dr. Mindy!!

In this video dr Mindy says that you can eat half an avocado and it won’t break your fast but will help you fast longer…the key point was that you could have a fasting snack as long as it was full fat which is what avocados are.
In the video, she just explained that you don't. Depends how you define a fast. Her primciples revolve around ketosis and autophagy
Ketosis is broken when blood sugar/glucose goes up a certain level and Autophagy is broken when protein goes up a certain level. Half an avocado is primarily fat and does not break ketosis or autophagy. @mattk8810
I was so chuffed with my blood sugar levels this weekend. I wanted to see what the effect of nut butter would be as a fasted snack because I was really hungry and had a few more hours to go before breaking my fast. Tested before I had a spoon of nut butter and again an hour later. My blood sugar actually went down!! So happy!!

Generally when blood sugar drops on a low carb/ no carbs food it means you spiked insulin.

I've done Low Carb and Dasting for 4 years now. Lost 25 lbs , 9" off my waist 5" off my hips and gained 2" in my chest. I do OMAD now, never hungry. The anti-aging and health benefits are incredible. Healed my back problems, reversed my Ste 3 Chronic Kidney Didease and lowered my blood pressure. I am 66 and some people say I look in my 40's. Just stage 3 Chronic Kidney Disease I never had a biopsy to determine the cause. My GFR went from 32 to 68 in 2 yrs doing keto and fasting. I did not limit my protein. 50gm carbs , 40gm protein 65 gm fat.
My goal is 4 days of water fast, but this time I'm on 73 hours and my hunger is really attacking me, so I ate avocado as my fasted snack. I'm trying to push through for 96 hours (4 days) until tomorrow. I can do this. 💪😊

Like you said in another video, mix up your fasting schedule. So i have a tiny avocado when doing my normal 16:8 at hour 16, then I'm able to fast 2 more hours. So then it will be 18:6. You are so awesome and thanks for caring about all of us ❤ no ones getting hurt by eating right!
Electrolytes absolutely save my life. I have them twice a day for headaches. Even though I've been fasting for years (everything from 18 -72 hrs) I'm still really metabolically resistant and struggle switching to fat stores. Electrolytes and 90%+ fat snacks make fasting a sustainable lifestyle that I know is healing my body 🙏
I certainly go trhough a real jet lag stage as i switch to the stores. Thats with electrolytes. Feel much better than i would wothout though
How many fasting snacks is OK in a 36 hour fast? I usually just have one at 20-24 hours but am struggling, I could really do with a second one
I so appreciate the common sense that you have in approaching fasting! I'm a recovering perfectionist and I can tell you that one of the big turn off factors in this field for me are the purists out there who treat fasting like a competition and comparison ego trip. I had no idea either...I was in Keto before, but got terrible constipation. Now I am trying the 16/8 fast due to fatty liver and Gaul stones..doing much better.
Handful of greens, olive oil, and a little Himalayan salt or sea salt also works as a salad snack for extending fasting.

@@theHoff1974 Anything you eat technically breaks a fast. However, a lot depends on what you are looking to achieve by the fast. You'll lose gut rest for sure if you eat a small salad. But you may still get autophagy and weight loss, because a little bit of greens and a small amount of oil won't spike insulin much.
Best plan though is to stick to your fast and not eat. But if a TINY bit of food would help you extend your fast a few hours more, it might be worth it.

Ive bever been able to fast correctly until I found your channel and your book! I am now moving into a healthier state of mind (clarity increases continuously) the joint pain and swelling/inflammation is reducing daily too! I take my mind of "weight/fat loss" and I focus on how I FEEL! I know the fat will drop as I commit to the processes and the processes are making such radical shifts with my body. I had the WORST periods for the last several years and as I hit 50, I had nearly no periods but all the efects of pms + Last week I finally had a period and there were no symptoms! No crippling headaches, back pain, swelling and feelings of despair and I know its bc of listening to your book and following you religiously on youtube! THANK YOU SO MUCH for all that you do

I have only been doing fasting for a couple months. Ive done a few 24 hr fasts and this month fasted based in my cycle as you recommended. Love LMNT! Broke through a weight loss plateau. I've been in "fasting training" for about 3 months.I've felt the benefits, but after an initial 4 pound weight loss, I hit a plateau. I would like to lose about 30. I've started protein cycling, and wow do I feel the difference. Thank you Dr. Mindy for promising that this would work! I do 18 hours fasts most cycles.

I had a teaspoon of 100% peanut butter on my 36-hour fast, it helped finish the fast. I always feel like I’m breaking the fast when I do that though but measured my blood glucose before/after once and it was actually lower after eating it!

I've got to sound very surprised keto cups I introduced his number one because not only are they expensive, if you need to have two or three of them it's not that great of a snack.
also I found that pickles are the most fantastic snack because they're crunchy and have no calories no sugar and all the salt you need to replenish.

Key takesway on fasted snack :if you need it to prolong your fast. Keto cup 1-2 mct oil in it, nut butter (no almond) like pecan or walnut + ghee tbs, avocado with sea salt & bone broth. Just a little snack to push thru. Put mct in your coffee as well. Minerals lmnt help.

This is great advice, thanks so much Dr. Mindy! I have been wondering how I can prolong my fasts. I can't get past 32 hours, I'd like to master the 72 hour fasts.
I think it depends on what you eat. I went carnivore two years ago and can easily fast for 3-4 days without prep or worrying about it. I think if you eat any carbs, it becomes harder. I also do think taking electrolytes while fasting helps a lot of ppl. I have tried it both with and without and there was no difference I could tell for myself.

I tried carnivore but I live in Korea at the moment & it’s a bit expensive to keep up 😩

Im am a beginner at fasting, Im 5 days in so far. Thanks Dr Mindy for these hacks, i didnt know. So far, ive done 2- 17 hr fasts, 1-24 hr fast and today was a 20 hr fast. I am struggling a little for ideas as to what to eat to break a fast. I watched a video and bought some kimchi and another jar of sourkraut to add to lunch/dinner. I made a smoothie w/spinach, coconut water, arugula, 1/2 whole lemon, 1" ginger, banana, straw&blue berries, powdered greens, chia seeds and flax seeds. It gave me a little bit of a stomach ache... the greens dont seem to settle too well. Im really loving how i feel after 17+ hours. I feel like i could conquer the world! Thanks again mi dy. I received your book in the mail tonight, i think i should have gotten the audible version...that will be next. BTW, I'm 73 so i need to follow the moon schedule for starting/stopping fasting, right?

Hi Dr.. Mindy!! This also helps people who have already started fasting. I didn't know any of this when I first started a year ago. I wish I'd found you then! :) I start to get irritable at the 18hr hour. And I haven't done a 24 hour yet because of hair loss. I don't have bald spots, but I do see an excessive amount of hair in my brush after brushing my hair. This started since before fasting, and after having my baby. I noticed this 3 years ago and have not been able to get help for it 🙏
There's some vitamins missing in your diet and could also be hormonal. Are you taking a good prenatal vitamin post, baby?
I had same issue, but partly because I left my hair in a protective style (braids) too long after birth due to nursing and pumping schedule draining me. It's been a year, so some hair has grown back, but it may take a few years to be back at full hair back. My edges (front of hair) were bad.
A lot of issues come from low iron or thyroid issues. Get them check by your dr/ health care professional. But I think your hair loss is not related to fasting as long as you eat enough protein and take a good organic, if possible, prenatal vitamin. 😊 I hope this helps.

I love all your videos and tips. Any tips on how to use up all my energy to sleep faster? I workout 5 times a week and bowl 3 nights a week fast on a 20:4 schedule 7 days a week lost over 38lbs went from a XXL to a slim fit large in just a little over 2 months. I sleep fine and average 7 hours min a night but feel I can still do so much more in a day. I sometimes workout mornings and night to wear myself out but I guess the fat burning keeps my energy levels up. TIA doc!

I took your advice with those keto cups eating 1 or two a day when I wanted a little something and the hazelnut is absolutely amazing. But then I got addicted to them. I ended up eating 7 in a day. Then I got really bad sulfur farts. I think it was the Jerusalem artichoke. I stopped eating them and my stinky farts went away.
These are great suggestions.
I love the Keto Cups but they are so dang expensive, like $12 dollars for a package of 7. I can only eat 1 because the MCT oil in them have me running to the bathroom. But they do satisfy like nothing else, even better than nut butter. For a nut butter I really like the Nutzo Nut and Seed Butters, both the regular and the cacao versions. I'm not a fan of avocado so I don't eat it, but 3-4 raw walnuts are also really good at extending a fast. And I really like the LMNT chocolate mint, which I drink as a replacement for hot chocolate in the morning instead of coffee. I'm not wild about the other flavors of LMNT, but I do drink the citrus version (it's not horrible) and it helps when fasting. The watermelon tastes like a Jolly Rancher watermelon (not a fan). The orange is similar to Tang (again, not a fan). I wish LMNT would come up with flavors that are less artificial tasting. Meanwhile I will stick with the chocolate mint and the citrus. I will say that the longer the fast, the better the LMNT tastes to me. So, if I'm just doing intermittent fast, LMNT tastes "ok", but if I'm doing a 5-day water-only fast, then LMNT tastes like an amazing treat. My most favorite electrolyte drink is Ultima Grape; I absolutely love it. You can find it at Thrive Market or on Amazon.

I can’t buy keto cups in my area but I love the slimfast (of all companies) keto fat bomb in lemon drop flavour. They are coated in keto white chocolate and so good and don’t trigger rebound cravings like many dirty “keto” snacks

Since July, I have been doing OMAD except for maybe a couple times every three months. When I’m having issues, I will put MCT oil and butter in my coffee. It stops me from desiring to eat… Which is usually some thing that’s in my brain and not really some thing that my body needs. So, I highly recommend MCT oil or just take a bite out of some butter. It works great.

All sooooo true! Thanks Dr. Mindy!! I just returned from an 8 Week Rd. trip where I ate and drank everything on my vacation. It was wonderful. Felt like I needed to regroup when I got home so I fasted. I did a 79 hour fast, 3 1/2 days! I feel great. Broke my fast with homemade sauerkraut and some nut butter. Feeling amazingly rebalanced! Also, was so refreshed by drinking LMNT in my water.

Every time I do a longer fast 36 or 48 hr I get a crazy reaction, the first 2 I got the shits and I thought how is that possible because I haven't eaten anything, the next 2 fast I had severe case of night sweats, I was drenched. I do a 22 hr fast almost everyday with no crazy effects . Years ago I had cancer, Large B cell non Hodgkins lymphoma, stage 4 so they pumped a ton of toxins into me, I am wondering if there is still lots of demons in the cells, wondering if any of your other treatments may help.

Well. I prefer only water fasting and I fast 48h every weekend. Just have done a 136h fasting. Love it. Water fasting 4ever. 💪💪💪💪💪
