I had a similar experience with mine, I got it last September and It was dormant till middle spring, I live in NC and kept my Stephania in my south facing window seal in my laundry room, it stays hot and humid in there, i added little glass pebbles and rocks on top of the exposed soil for decor, but I think it helps reflect light and helps with drainage. I moved it to another space where it gets even more humidity and less light it got really long and had tiny leaves, so I moved it to brighter light and it had started to grow larger leaves. It is super neat and I can see the vine moving sometimes, it is a very active plant. I avoid watering it often because of its potential to rot. Overall it’s one of my favorites plants I have in my collection. There isn’t much online about it so thank you for sharing.
I am in 💯% agreement. Humidity with the baggie method was the only thing that made mine sprout. Unfortunately mine sprouted but never put out leaves 😬 Any thoughts or tips? Should I move mine to brighter light?
I have no idea. The new stem in mine has tiny leaves that just aren’t growing. So I’m having the same problem. Ever since I moved it inside, it has stopped growing leaves. I’m thinking that it might appreciate a hotter temp and humidity. That’s my only hypothesis.
Mine sprouted but now it’s just sitting here and the little nubs on the stem keep getting brown. I threw a ziplock over it but nothings happening. I’m just praying it’ll root
My Stephania sprouted, but then the sprout stopped growing at about and inch and a half. Does anyone know why this might happen? It's been about 3 months like this.
I love how it’s growing around the trellis!! Mine has put out three leaves but it hasn’t been doing anything for weeks now...it’s in the most brightest place in the house I wonder I need to give more humidity..
According to the internet they can go dormant during winter and the foliage will die back. At that time you should cut back on watering so you don’t rot the bulb
I just placed a bag over it that was tight around the pot. Or you can just get a big ziplock and place the whole thing inside and seal it. As long as it isn’t touching the bulb. The humidity will build in there quickly.
a "succulent watering little container thing"???? is that the part number? or item description??? thanks for the very useful info. i DO like your trellis however. tips that you ASKED for: I had my plants under a 4 foot fluorescent fixture that had two bulbs. then i replaced the fluorescent bulbs with a Magnetic Mount LED Retrofit Kit that I bought from Amazon for $44. Three bulbs. Mounts to fluorescent fixture with magnets. 15 minute upgrade. MORE light than the fluorescent bulbs, but less power at 54W ... 5000k. Cooler temperature on the plants when its closer to them, and they LOVE it. I keep it on 12 to 14 hours a day. Photosynthesis REQUIRES at least 8 hours of darkness for most plants. Oh ... I made THE most IGNORANT mistake planting my Stephania erecta when I put it in its growing medium UPSIDE DOWN, and didn't notice until the growth (which was now coming from the exact center of the bottom) was about 3" long. I turned it over just this AM ... hope the growth turns around and it hatches some roots.
I am fascinated by how round the leaves are. I love her.
She’s a stunner for sure.
Lovely! This is the best Stephania Erecta I have ever seen. Peace.

I luckily just got mine to bud! watching to see how to care for them now
Nooo the ring thing you did is really cute!! It’s nice :-)
Thank you. My poor plant has done so poorly with the move. I hope I can bring it back
that is so cool how it just took the snap as an opportunity! go off, little potato plant.
the snap u accidentally made or break is like pinching that stimulates growth. there are similar plants like aralias that heals when it breaks.
Thank you for the information 😊
It's called a lab wash bottle and they are awesome for watering plants that don't like their tops touched.
Nice sharing.
Hi! Thank you for your informative video. Have you noticed if the tuber itself is getting bigger in diameter?
LOVE your video! So fun. How do I know which side to plant? 😅
I am still trying to get this bulb of mine sprouting🤞🏼 Love the way yours is growing
Try putting a baggie over it to keep in humidity. Just don’t let it touch the bulb
It really a cool plant. Love the shape an veins in the leaves. 💚😃
I love it. It so much like a piece of art in your home.
Just Uno Moss It is!! 😃

@@JustUnoMoss 🤔 humm. Good to know. I may try the sunroom and see if it pops
I ordered mine today 🥰 I want to ask about this bagging, should i make holes in the bag or not? Havent tried that before.

I swear by those watering containers as well as my moisture meter!☺️I ordered a hoop trellis. I’m waiting to get them. I don’t have the plant.
Where did you order the trellis?
Love your the name of your channel!! So cute.

Humid helps for sure. But since I’ve moved mine inside it hasn’t grown any new leaves so I might put it back outside
So cute!
I have 5 total and they love the bathroom 🥰
I might move mine in there. 🤗
What is the name of the plant that is behind you, the one with the shape of a heart?
Did they go dormant and if they go when is the dormancy, thank you 😗😘😍😙

My question is.. how do you get the baggie to become humid?
I just placed a bag over it that was tight around the pot. Or you can just get a big ziplock and place the whole thing inside and seal it. As long as it isn’t touching the bulb. The humidity will build in there quickly.
What is a baggy please?
Mine keeps on growing but the leaves dries up before they can grow big :(( help!
Do you keep it humid after it sprouted?
After it sprouted and got too tall for the bag, I removed it. But it’s very humid where I live so I normally don’t have too many humidity issues
How old is that plant?
Is this sweet Potato?

Lol I don’t take tips seriously when they are accompanied by superiority and sarcasm.

What do you want to know?
All I hear is "I don't know, I don't know" ... if THAT is the case, then WHY are you making videos when you "Don't Know Anything" about this plant?
Yikes. You took time out of your day to post this 😬
