So glad I found your video! My Stephania Erecta wasn’t rooting, so I came to the same conclusion you did! And she is sprouting in a self watering pot. I put all my drama queens in SW pots (esp. Calatheas) and they do great! So much fun seeing new life. Love from Long Island, NY 💚🪴
Hello! Nice to find someone that have good knowledge about this type of plant. I got mine today and have been searching all over UA-cam trying to find info on how to care for it and make it sprout ☺️
Everytime you take it out to repot, the plant stops what its growing to focus on the roots. So it should not be a surprise the leaves drop. Great plants !
my Gwen stephania has grown well and i bought a second stephania called spud and realized spud was male and Gwen female so i dabbed the flowers together and Gwen now has seed pods :)...Also like you I'm in love with these plants and got myself a stephania kawasaki nova..They are the best lol
I believe the caudex will drop their leaves after the growing season then will shoot them up again. The height of the leaves is longer in lower light. I thought my erecta were big yours is a beast!
It's lovely, with stepania erecta I heard patience is key, you've done a great job to have it sprout leaves, just received mine 2 weeks ago, hoping it will sprout for me, that 2nd plant is awesome, thanks for the update, hope to see another update, enjoy your day, a planty person from Orange County, CA 😄🌱🌿🌵👋
How exciting! With spring well and truly here, I think you will be able to get yours budding very soon. I hope the tips I have shared help you get there. It's always so lovely to read your comments - Thank you!
@@RootsReady hi, thank you for the plant tips and sharing your plant parent experience with us, always enjoy your videos, now I'm thinking of trying pon with my plants, I know I said it before but you have such a positive vibe, no wonder your plants are happy, til next time ☺️🌵🌿🌱😄
Talk about trial and error 😆. You’ve put in the work and your plants look great! Congrats on that massive leaf growth on your Nova! I’ve got a few plants in pon and I swear by it. Great video 💚
Springtails only eat decomposing organic matter they are actually very helpful cleaning crew hehe Maybe you were watering too often or the conditions of the soil were too humid due to the greenhouse and roots were rotting and the springtails were just eating the decomposing roots :)
I tried so many way to get rid of them and in the end I gave up. Since then, I haven't noticed any decline in my plants. In fact some are producing bigger leaves than ever
@@RootsReady great 😊 don’t get rid of the springtails they are good ahah if you look them up people even add them to closed terrariums and such to create a natural self-sustainable micro environment :)

Hello there 👋. I am glad I could help. It can take a little while to get going but once it starts there's no stopping it.

I recently cut off the leafless stem and it had started to push out new growth again. I am hoping for a lot more leaves this year.
