@@dek1014 My friend thanks very much for your gesture, I really appreciate your continous support on my YT Channel, 2023 was a lazy year for me, I mostly focused on my soundpacks rather than fresh covers, and kept re-visiting my old cover projects actually, hopefully in 2024 I plan to make some new cover songs and maybe we can colloborate again this year, you have a gift of great vocals and very talented on sound design as well, see you around..

Another great cover Dek, with all your usual attention to detail. You have put your own stamp on it too, giving it a slightly popier feel. Beautifully done.

Alright, dEk. Happy new year and what an awesome production. I really like the sounds you've used and the mix sounds great. Some of the sequencing and playing is really impressive. That part that comes in every now and then, I'm not sure if it's still classed as the bass line but it sounds like an octave or two up from the low bass, is really good. I'm not sure what quantisation/timing it is but it has like a flurry to it, maybe 32nd or 64th. Whatever it is it sounds great 👍 When I was very young getting into synths and the Human League I used to listen to other synth stuff, Equinox and Oxygen were two albums that I played to death. I love the journey and movements with both of those albums. It's amazing how different pure synth artists could sound so different, as in, Kraftwerk with Autobahn. Another amazing album that takes you on a great listening journey, of which your version is also awesome. Saying that, I've always found Radioactivity a tough listen and something that I've never managed to get into. Anyway, the point that I'm making is that between JMJ and Kraftwerk, you've got two massively different synth sounds that are poles apart, while both being massive influences to a lot of synth music that followed them. I know that may sound a bit mad coming from someone who's into 3 minute pop songs and vocals. But some of the melodic, arrangement and sound content by both Jarre and Kraftwerk were just amazing. Again, AWESOME work and production 👍and definitely one that will be added to my dEk101 playlist for my next Friday night bender 🤣 Take care buddy. Cheers, Dave.

I was brought up on JMJ and Tangerine Dream. My uncle used to play them all the time. It's taken me a while to appreciate Tangerine Dream (maybe it's an age thing?) but always loved those early JMJ albums. As you say, it's really interesting how such different sounds were created from different approaches to playing/programming synths back in the day. I know what you mean about Radioactivity. Other than the title track (which is actually one of my favourite Kraftwerk songs) there's not a lot going on on that album LOL. Anyway, thanks as always, for listening. I hope your 2024 is off to a cracking start - all the best dEk

BTW. I don't know if you've ever seen this UA-cam video of Jarre running through his synths, I think for Oxygen but it's awesome. Do a YT search for (Legendary Instruments - Jean Michel Jarre) I would have put the link but I think your settings block comments with hyperlinks. Cheers, Dave.

Hmm?... I'll have to check my settings. I was lucky enough to see JMJ playing Oxygen live in a fairly small venue with his original studio kit. None of the showy fireworks or massive screen projections but for a synth enthusiast.... a very special gig
