Not heard anyone do this cover of Johns track before...until now...and its awesome, well done. This was an iconic track of his of whom i've followed ever since his appearance in Ultravox
Wow! you nailed the sound the atmosphere of the song completely. Great cover. Did you know the whole album Metamatic was recorded in a tiny London 8 track studio called pathway? Also engineered by Gareth Jones who went on to work with Depeche Mode.
Cheers. Yes, I was surprised to read that Gareth Jones engineered this track. I also read that John Foxx used to put his synths through amps in the studio and record the output with a microphone rather than feeding them straight into a recorder.
@@dek1014 Yeah tbh I think When John was in Ultravox they were doing stuff like that.Billy Currie in an interview stated he would put his Odyssey through an overdrive pedal or amp, It's hard to believe in this day an age that John Foxx only used an Arp Odyssey, Elka string synth and a Roland CR-78 drum machine for the whole album. Jake Durant played bass guitar on a few tracks. It still is an utterly mind blowing album to listen to even in 2024.
@@abrokenframe82 Same with early Human League, OMD and Depeche. I have a studio full of synths and cant come close to what these bands were producing with a couple of synths 🤣
@@offworldnetwork I know what you mean. When I was a teenager all I had was a Yamaha DX100, RX17 drum machine and a Moog Prodigy all recorded to a fostex 4 track, but It was the most productive time for my song writing. Now I have a room full of equipment but lack the creative spark!
Awesome
Thank you. Much appreciated
Hi Dek, The vocals on this track could have proved tricky, but once again you hit the mark. The whole track beautifully recreated. Awesome!
Glad you enjoyed it!
