  • An instrumental guitar cover with tabs of Stranded by Gojira from the album Magma. Updated with the correct chords in the chorus now!
    Tuning - D standard
    Also for this cover I'm testing out the Neural DSP Archetype: Gojira plugin!
    0:00 - Stranded Cover
    4:27 - Archetype settings
    I've put off doing Stranded for a long time as the stock whammy plugin in logic isn't exactly the best, so when Neural announced the Gojira archetype and that it included a whammy it felt time to finally tackle it. I've automated in the whammy after recording as I don't have an expression pedal to plug in, but it turned out pretty good!
    Overall there's not too many different sections to learn. There's two main ideas - the main riff and the chorus chords, then variations based on these two sections.
    The sound and video are recorded separately as it results in a better video for everyone!
    Sorry to the few countries this is blocked in. UA-cam seems to think my track is the original music.

    This song helped me to go through this f.... pandemic and made me love Gojira. How many times i played this song to evacuate my rage of not being able to do anything during that time!!! Still love the epic face while playing

    Man I've been saying all these years "I'm not buying a neural plugin until Archetype: Rabea or Archetype: Gojira" and well, here I stand without the 160 usd kek.
    Would love to see a remake of your flying whales cover with this plugin (and tabs cause I never could pick up the higher harmonies whoops). Much love and great work as always

    so the first riff is just plain palm muted Low E string? i've seen tabs claiming it was that "power chord" at 0:45

    • @ShadowMantraSteve
      @ShadowMantraSteve  3 роки тому

      I believe it is an E power chord like I've got on the tab

    Hi just wondering if someone can help or point me in the right direction of where to find help.
    Very new to DAWs and just started using the gojira archetype (it's sick) but how do I go about taking the sound I'm producing in nueral DSP and recording it onto another software, currently just using the free software that came with my audio interface. Is there a recommended software for PC and if so how do I record output from nueral DSP. Thanks in advance!

    • @ShadowMantraSteve
      @ShadowMantraSteve  3 роки тому +2

      Hi, so typically in a DAW you set up a track to pick up the audio from the interface. You can then add plugins and effects to that track, in this case you would be adding the neural archetype as a plugin. When you record it records the clean guitar sound, but if you're monitoring the track in the DAW you should hear it with the effects of the plugins and when you play it back it will be playing through the plugins.
      What software are you using? One option for pc that's not too expensive is Repear. I've not used it but I know that it's pretty common with people who are getting into home recording.

      @@ShadowMantraSteve thanks for the reply mate, I'm using Ableton live lite as it came free with my focusrite Scarlett , just playing around with it at the moment and trying to learn it all so I'll take all the help I can get, do you have any videos or channels you might recommend that help with learning and setting up this sort of stuff or shall I just continue to dabble and play around.

    • @ShadowMantraSteve
      @ShadowMantraSteve  3 роки тому +1

      I'm not super familiar with Ableton. Just had a quick scan of this video and it should help you a bit. Although it's more talking towards midi instruments than recording a guitar it still covers some basics that should be useful.

      To start with you'll probably be okay with the lite version of Ableton to get a feel for recording a guitar and some of the general ways a DAW works.

      @@ShadowMantraSteve Awesome Video even though I’m confused on how to get that Whammy sound on and off? You seem to know a lot about Daws and Plugins etc…..Could you do a video of how to set up a DAW and plugins for beginners? Also you could explain on how do use IR’s, DIs etc. I think there’s a lot of players out there that could really benefit from a vid explaining all that. Thanks Steve!
