Songs like Screaming, New Faces, the self titled track and others on the Cold Sun album are other examples of the mixing of brutal hardcore riffs and airy shoegaze stuff. Peak metalcore!
Thank YOU for watching! I honestly had no idea if anyone else would find this stuff interesting. What other songs/artists would you like to learn more about?
@@andrewboothmusic Yeah man I really enjoy this style of content, especially on music I really like. I think any song by Hail The Sun would make a good video due to their unconventional writing style and the tastiness of their riffs.
Thank you for your hard work !! This is so helpful for fellow musicians and also makes me want to try writing music like this and new ways of how to compose . Also I like the idea of being in a key that has the notes of harmonic minor and an added f natural to make you feel a sense of dissonance and can create that feeling of unease but it’s also a genius song writing tool because it’s a trick / writing idea that is more uncommon . Modal interchange and borrowing chords/notes from other keys is not uncommon Anyway this video helped me to learn a lot!! and your 🎸 guitar tone and explanations are awesome !! Thank you for showing us the names of chords too :)!!! It’s so cool to see a Tele that sounds like a super low tuned 7/8 string or baritone 😂! Nice one
I wouldn't say Aggressive Evolution blends the pretty and the scary parts so seamlessly. The chorus dropping is a little offputting. New Faces In The Dark and Screaming do the best work at that. I don't know how you see that in terms of harmony, but when you hear the songs that's how it is.
@@andrewboothmusic The band based the song off of an old poem they found online so the dialog being said could be something quoted directly from the poem
@@mushymonk I'm late, but here's the full poem: "name a few dimensions we can flow between with no obstructions another timeline l'd give anything to find adorned by countless souls seeking further untold at this winter you will be and if I join you there you will ask me... is it really you?" hey andrew, I have some doubts about this song, my question is, if this song is in E minor, we can say the song modulates to B minor? Bcs the V grade of the original tone is B minor. thanks and good video
Did you find it after analyzing it or did you analyze it because you heard sm weird going on there? Like the key the melody was in being different from the guitar, could you just hear it or did you analyze them separately and reazlied they were doing all that
I love the video and I subbed too But I have to say this, at least for the first 10 seconds, you have a way of moving your mouth in a way that makes it look like its out of sync with the sounds its making. I cna't explain it but the first time I saw this video I thought there was a mismatch in audio and video The second time I saw it I thought it was just intro audio overlayed to video of you talking about other stuff. But no you're just talking lmao

That shirt look comfy as fuck
hell yeah it is
This was great! Please do more Loathe breakdowns
Thank you! I’d love to. Any specific songs you’d like me to go over?
@@andrewboothmusic Could you please break down "East of Eden" or "Loathe" from The Cold Sun? Thank you in advance
Great video dude, I hope you do more videos like this.
Thanks! I promise there will be more very soon
great video format! love to hear other people's takes since I'm in the process of writing too 😤

really enjoyed that. thank you for sharing.
Thank you for watching and taking the time to let me know this provided some sort of value. Lots more to come
I’d love some swancore analysis. Not as heavy but I do enjoy the quick paced “floaty” riffs.
Could you give a few examples for me? I'm not very familiar with the genre

@@andrewboothmusic Dance Gavin Dance - Death of A Strawberry. Easily one of the best swancore songs

I’d dig a series of these 👀 invent animate or something would be cool

Please do a breakdown of New Faces in The Dark! Loved this video and my only complaint is that it wasnt longer hahaha
this is super interesting
This is awesome.
You're awesome
Great video! Please release more
Thank you! Now that I know I'm not the only one who enjoys this kind of music nerd-ery, I will be making more as soon as possible
Nice video man!
Thanks!
100% stealing this so i can bridge my harmonic minor riffs for catchier choruses
Seeing those tones coming from a strat looks wrong 😂
Hahaha, yeah, getting an actual baritone is on my to-do list but until then, pitch-shifting my grandpa guitar will have to do
would love this for a swancore band
Aaaaaand sub’d
Amazing. Thank you for the support! more soon
your mic needs a mic filter for the Ps and S sounds. Love the video tho!!
This is absolutely not my territory but you seem to know what your doing so 👍👍 keep at it
Thank you for the encouragement! will do
What dis you use to pitch shift your strat? Sounds great!
Great analysis, too!
has anyone figured out what the sample in "is it really you" yet?😭😭
