NWOBHM is "New Wave Of British Heavy Metal" by the way.
I was just about to ask lol
Never understood that. Just call it Heavy Metal my guy. Or just call it British Metal if we are going with making new genres based off of its origins.
I looked at some Ernie Ball Guitars until I realized I can’t afford one …..I wish. Great skills too bro
This is a fukn ernie Ball petrucci majesti 6 or dknw but bro glad to see the price of a shitty harley benton st hh sbk to spread my hungerness letzzz gooooo
Used to be you could get a used JP6 for around $1300-1600USD
Try the Sterling by Music Man version. I got a 7 string JP Sterling brand new for around $700 US and I love it.
For me personally there's something about the MM guitars that just doesn't look good to me. But theyre one of the most popular brands these days so I guess I'm in the minority.
@@wintermadness6169 in some countries 700 dollars is a 2 month of work. What should I do in that situation ;(
I love how Black Sabbath is a genre of its own 😂
I mean sabbath probably has a riff in all of these sub genres. lol
bcause they invent metal
+ 1 for NECROPHAGIST 👌
Cool vidéo like always, greetings from France 🇫🇷
Always happy when someone mentions Helloween and doesnt stick to the keeper albums.
Personally i would see Bathory as viking metal, and Type O Negative as gothic metal, but as always you did a great job! ❤
Type O Negative mixed gothic with doom, Moonspell is a pure gothic metal band
The bass boost on Blackened is very much appreciated.
For those wondering, Lorna Shore's cursed to die and plenty of their other songs is played on a 7-string in Drop G (GDGCFAd) :>
Great playing and an excellent selection of songs - some are new to me and I'll be checking them out!
Amazing as always, thank you!
Love the riffs and genres but you missed the holy trinity that is stoner, doom, and sludge.
doom was there
6:00 I can't believe I saw you fucking up this riff. This just shows how hard Necrophagist riffs are.
Hard? Try IMPOSSIBLE!
This will be so useful later for me. Thank you for this. Please do more genre types! Love these.
These lessons are sick.🤘🏻🤘🏻 Love them.
That tone is sick
Respect for playin Necrophagist and Lorna Shore..skill👊🔥👊🔥
Hocam çok iyisin yaklaşık 2 yıldır büyük keyifle takip ediyorum. Kanalı sakın bırakma
So happy to see Candlemass getting some recognition again ❤️
lovely examples
Отличный звук, прекрасная гитара и навык игры.
Muchas gracias!!🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
This is soooooo freaking awesome
New sub
Ellerine sağlık ağabey 10 numara olmuş
Nice, thight and clean 👌
Saxons and Vikings is such a banger
Your taste, your picks! 👌 😍
Goes to show how ubiquitous THAT riff is.
Круто
Ah yes i am home. -Doom Slayer
"Body Hammer" is in B Standard. Great video though!
saxons and vikings is one of the best things thats happened to metal this century
I feel like I’ve heard the neoclassical somewhere in GarageBand
İbrahim abi çok iyisin be abi
We need slamming brutal death metal and war metal here too 😭
how do you play the sweep so cleanly but mess up the muting in the necrophagist riff
so a sound interface removes the need to tune sharp or flat? neat, didn't know that
Great job! Btw, how did you record all these songs on (mostly) one guitar? I want to make a similar-ish video with songs that are distorted and clean but in one take; how would I record them in the different tones without having to stop and record new clips?
These days most guitar covers are recorded professionally through a DAW, multitracked, EQd, mixed and mastered, and the video you see is mimed to the master recording, just like a traditional music video.
For his lists, this process is not only convenient but actually vital, since there are so many tunings involved.
That’s not to say that his work is any less valuable or that his insane guitar skills are in any sort of doubt. Just useful info: even social media musicians produce their music, and that is great! The world needs producers just as much as it needs performers.
@@gorstone36 ahhh dang. I was hoping to do something like this or Rob Scallon’s 30 songs in one minute video, but I’m no engineer
5:00 metal core
4:06 metalcore
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
i am genuinely curious what string gauge he is using because that low e is chunky for what i assume is a guitar in standard
I heard the tone on the first seconds and thought (he's gonna play blackened) and yep
Guys what strings do i use for a acoustic
>Viking Metal
>Shows Amon Amarth
I can't
Neoclassical is the best.
What tuning did you use on this video?
I always thought walk was tuned in drop D♭
One day, I'm just gonna say "fck it" and really get down to business. Call my real estate agent, sell my house, and buy an Ernie Ball.
I'll be homeless, but at least I'll have a sweet ass tone and still not know how to play prog metal on beat.
pitch shifter in this vid goes like 📉📈📈📉📉📈📈📉📉😆
It all sounds like metal to me
Amon amarth is melodic death, viking metal is a subgenre of black metal but great video
Bahahahaha
adamm
i think the Fear Factory song is played on a 7 string guitar 🎸 i’ve never seen Deno play a 6 string before just my opinion
U can tune your 6 strings with BEADGB
(7 strings is BEADGBE).
It is so, but the author probably doesn't have a 7string guitar, so he remade the song from the 7string standard to the 6string one. The same was done with Lorna Shore
Fear factory is b standard
Lorna shore finally
You missed the Opeth genre which has only one band Opeth.
Progressive
Progressive death metal
I sincerely don't understand why Lorna Shore in D Standard tuning
abi niye video ortası gitar değiştin

Black sabbath island honorable mention.. .wtf.
Hi, Amon Amarth is Melodic Death Metal
Hi. What is the neck on the jp 6 like? I’m looking at one for the piezo/ mixing feature etc… but wanna know how neck is / feel etc (I like fat wide-ish , get on with prs Santana/59 lp thick profile etc
Where's speed metal?
I want to remind you that metalcore is not only killswitch engage or as i lay dying(although the latter is definitely the base and then two albums)
Listen at least to Arkangel, Undying, Disembodied, or at least fucking All Out War and maybe you will understand what metalcore is.
In the meantime, I see another video with the pretentious name "20 genres of metal" where in fact everything consists of pop metal, especially "metalcore".
P.S. something I don't see sludge, post-metal, it already says that the author is a poser
I was kinda disappointed to not see Soundgarde on Alternative Metal
Soundgarden was Stoner metal/heavy metal on Louder than Love and Badmotorfinger, then they played grunge
@@svekkapung the hell are you on, they were one of the first bands that can be considered as alternative metal, ESPECIALLY badmotorfinger.
@@saxwastaken Alternative metal doesn't mean anything, just like post-metal doesn't. LTL and Badmotorfinger has a very distinct Black Sabbath influence and the riffs and structuring of the songs are clearly heavy metal, Stoner metal specifically. I mean, compare those albums to Kyuss' album Wretch and you'll know what I mean
And sludge metal? 😢
Folk metal 😢
How dare you not put BlackBraid in for the Black Metal section!
because it's atmospheric black metal, not typical black metal. That's like putting Master's Hammer in the black metal section
No nu metal?
Nu Metal technically isnt metal.
Meh genre
Amon Amarth is not viking metal. They are a melodic death metal band with lyrics about vikings. Viking metal is like Hammerheart era bathory.
Honestly
those 20 styles sound almost the same i've never understood why metal has so many silly genres when they could be 5, may be 10 genres tops
chose a fucking metalcore riff for death metal
I wouldn't class Amon Amarth as viking metal, more as melodic death. Viking metal has stronger roots in black metal.
Amon Amarth IS melodic death metal. Lyrical content doesn't define the subgenre.
@@svekkapung yes, exactly what I'm saying
@@zsjb_ ah my bad, responded to the wrong comment
0:23 I forgot that metallica was heavy once😂
playing 3 different genres of death metal but not playing more than a single black metal… i think black metal deserves more
Maybe cause black metal is pure bullsht and does not deserve recognition since its so lack of musical talent?
Der Weg Einer Freihet 👌
it definitely doesn't deserve more than it has
Satanic shit doesn't deserve more
Nu metal??
Avatar checks out.
ngl the inlays kind of fake it must be the lighting
Despite beign a cool song Cherry Pie is Hard Rock and thus make the presence on this video inaccurate and Viking Metal is more about the fate of Band members on the Norse mitology than a structure Type of music so Amon Amarth would be better placed as Melodic Death Metal and i would consider put Stoner Metal in this kind of vídeo
You know, Glam Metal really had some badass riffs, and it's a shame they used those riffs for such stupidity.
Enslaved is actual viking metal
Stoner metal? Absolutely unbelievable. 1 star don’t recommend
Folk metal? Sludge metal? Nu metal?
Not a great list really
iron maiden fear of the dark is not nwobhm its regular heavy metal, nwobhm ended in 82.
deathcore is not metal its hardcore.
metalcore is not metal its hardcore
and where is speed metal? the best metal genre!
Metalcore is metal, look at the name
Deathcore is metal, it’s death metal but more modern.
No one cares it's all metal if you love it or not it's good
Deathcore was hardcore in 00's because of the bands like Despised Icon. Metalcore is a very large genre, that's why there are bands that are close to hardcore (Earth Crisis, Integrity, Shai Hulud, Hatebreed, Knocked Loose, Kublai Khan, Converge, Turnstile) and bands that are much closer to melodic death metal(Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, Unearth, Bullet For My Valentine, Atreyu, Trivium, God Forbid, August Burns Red, etc.)
Speedmetal was actually painkiller, by judas priest
@@Soggy5271Deathcore is not modern death metal lol. It's mostly chuggy hardcore
