Always love ion blaze videos. This one was awesome. Quick minor edit, I believe (I might be wrong but mainly play ench, so I think I’m correct) Tash and Malo can be resisted but it’s very very hard to resist. Great video and with my work schedule changing, can’t wait to play on Teek
eq1 kunark was the last great. great. great expansion. velious was great but. it wasny kunark great. yea.. the planes of power was very convienent, it was good, it was quite fair, but as soon as that first pirate themed DLC released... it was clear.. there was no going back. alll down hill. first example.... the very first velious raid I entered..... every room, every hallway, every room was so huge and wide. Remember raiding solosek A in eq1 ? the dungeons were so small and organic, ogres needed shrink postions just to get in.... the quality of dungeon went sstraight down after kunark. remember guk? it was a huuge maze of tiny tiny spaces. all eq1 dungeons were.. they were master pieces.
Look at those mage pets go! Angeliana said the tower “runs through” the end of the year. When I asked if that meant whether it would 1) go away completely, 2) only be available during the anniversary period, or 3) still be there but no new missions, she said I was an idiot for asking 🤷♂️ I suspect #1 and that it won’t be a thing in the future but 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
Some corrections: - rangers had weaponshield in kunark. - there are no new discs for SKs, when you said tanks get new DPS disciplines, I think for SK you're referring to Unholy Aura, but we've had that since kunark. don't know about warrior and paladin - Tower gear is already beginning to be replaced (mainly by tanks) in velious, and in Luclin focus effects become active and mana pres 3, improved damage 3, burning afflication 3, etc... are all better than just the raw stats from tower gear. Tower gear should start being replaced by *everyone* in Luclin in favor of focus effects, and by planes of power and beyond the charm is the only piece that is still worth using. even the upgraded level 65 tower mask, earrings, rings, necklace, shawl, cloak, are all bad compared to pop gear
There's an overpowered two-handed sword comes off of the queen in Crystal caverns also. my shadow Knight ran with that for at least 10 levels, maybe more

Stormfeather camping for haste clicky, EB items (lol, with your Focus Effects, AAs), The Pirate ranged weapon that procs Shadowstep essentially, useful that. Get those beads, before they end up in Luclin's Casino.
Im new to everquest and just leveled my first character as a shadowknight. I just hit 60 tonight and got all the towergear. Appreciate the video as i know next to nothing about velious except that people say the bots are going to "own velks", whatever that is 😂
There is so much about the original that the TLP server can never truly get, like the first time a lowbie zoned into Qeynos Hills on Halloween night and saw giant skeletons and other type of undead for the first time, hearing about high level characters getting destroyed in Kithicor and knowing most of them were aholes. Everquest 2 has released the origin server and that manages to capture the magic EQ 2 original has more than the TLP sadly
@@EricTheGr81 same ruleset just different launch times. As of this comment they are locked at the same content with more server wide inventory on blue so things might be cheaper
No mention of the armor of distraction? Nature's defender? Guardian's robe? SCHWs? 10 slot tool boxes? Lodizal drops? Maybe the TLPs don't need this classic bling...
(sigh) I still want to play the original EverQuest (most recent edition of course.....put mildly...) & to do so as a Barbarian, Cleric, Rogue & WIZARD. 😅
Should try out project quarm if you haven't! Goes to Planes of Power and is just in Kunark right now. No bots and cheating... if there is cheating they will get banned unlike on live servers. No tower mode either. Also it has instanced raids and less time on mob timers. It is good for players that value time
@@icemage21k they are not great for anyone. They trivialize the game, and make progression and character upgrades pointless, for several expansions. It won't be until Omens / DODH where gear is substantially better. So like, no reason to log in for the next year or so, unless you only want to farm KR.
Tower made me stop playing. A server focused on loot where you just get a bunch of PoP gear right of the bat making a bunch of loot obselete.. fuck it lol

some of the QOL for TLP's is quite nice, and some of it is way overboard.. tower gear is fucking dumb. exp potions i can understand, distillates i can appreciate, but that tower gear is so stupid.
Playing on teek is pointless... tower gear ruined the whole server. It's fucking dumb. And i would not count on many / any bot armies in Siren's Grotto, it's simply not worth the squeeze at 170k KR price. On oakwynd we started Velious with ~ 25k krono. Very little reason to play on Teek. Maybe in DODH era... Had a level 60 shaman in first 2 weeks on teek in full tower gear and all BiS, have not logged in, in 6 weeks since then. Went back home, to Oakwynd, where I raid with a guild, and we are mostly past Tower gear (not quite, still bis for boxes and alts)... people on Teek are toxic as fuck, now that im accustomed to FTE i never want to play without it. The current price of KR on Teek, makes the oakwynd plat dupe look tame.

you're right, I've never to this day seen any dungeon design quite like something like Guk, in other MMOs. It's never been replicated.

It sold the new expansion. There is a non fixed exploit where you use a level 2 mage to gear your mains.
