I’m disappointed that we were denied a Short Round appearance…
I think Kingdom of the crystal skull was much better interms of Indy’s story and the emergence of nee arch his son. Indy 5 is the worst disservice to all the heros we had growing up.
I might stand alone with Joe Starr on this, but Temple of Doom is my favorite Indy film!
Same.
Temple of Doom is the most fun and I rewatch that one the most but I think Raiders is the best made movie in the franchise.
Same here
Well, at least I can sleep peacefully knowing that the Last Crusade was the true ending.
The 1st had ghost the 2nd 3 rocks, and the 3rd had a knight just chillin in a cave for 1000s of years believable ?sure ,the 4th had aliens and now time travel, sorry but i think the knight was the silliest
Last Crusade is awesome, but missing imo a vital character.
I'd rather watch Young Indiana Jones than the movies following The Last Crusade.
Not really because this film is good and great ending to Indiana jones. Yea because this guy review is what everyone should listen to. Jesus get a mind of you’re own
After watching Dial last night, I must admit...I much preferred Crystal Skull
magic and fantastic elements is fine in the old trilogy, why do people dislike it in this movie???
I dont get why to some ppl aliens were too much but ending in dial is not..?
Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was WAAAAYYY better than Dial of Destiny!!!
Rank on Indy movies:
2
1
3
4
5
I have a very odd question that may or may not be interesting for you, what is the relation to movie watching and the environmental impact/weather. I think it would be interesting to know about what kind of movies people watch when it's hotter or colder.
I imagine it's whatever is being released.
@@theredmonkey I understand that movies releases in different seasons but I want to know why It's those specific season It's probably because of time consumption and other reasons... also I wanted to know how movie watching affect the environment... It's just very interesting for me.
Hoping to see a Mission Imposssible review
Well I think...apart from first 15 mins....Crystal Skull is better!
I think the character work in Dial of Destiny was better for Indy, with a more satisfying ending.
The movie overall is very flawed though.
Still think kingdom skull is bit better than this new one.
Can we all just accept that Temple of Doom is a stone cold classic that we've been conditioned into disliking because of the reputation it gained from having to follow up Raiders? The spike room and minecart chase are both S tier action adventure sequences that neither Crystal Skull or Dial of Destiny come even close to.
I agree and disagree. Agree that temple of doom gets more hate than it deserves. Dial of destiny is better. Its action set pieces are all maybe longer than they should be, a little overindulgent, but they're exceptionally competent.
Temple of Doom is my favorite Indy film
Crystal Skull was better and I never thought that I would say that but the final scene of Indy marrying Marion was a good sendoff. Watching Indy get the Disney treatment of becoming the depressed old guy and a younger female character telling him that he sucks wasn't a good way to go out.
I agree with your first sentence
IDK. I know things change but man i miss SJU. IDK seems indistinguishable from Gamespot Universe or the other 30 carbon copy hollywood spam. The 2 movie talk channels both pivoted to what 1000 channels are already doing. GL not mad just sad.
When Crystal Skull is the bar you know the film sucks!
Think you missed some questions;
-is Indy treated with respect
-are the supporting characters people you care about.
-will people talk about this film in five years with reverence…or disdain
👏👏👏👏
I didn't even have a problem with Crystal Skulls. But this abomination? It's garbage! And everybody should know that the reasons this was delayed so much was because Kathleen Kennedy's intended ending rubbed test audiences the wrong way (If anyone from Disney says otherwise, they're lying).
omg it's a great movie, ...
Raiders Best, then Last Crusade, then Temple of Doom. Haven't seen Dial yet but I'm just going to assume it's better than Crystal Skull too.
I didn’t think so, indy 4 was better in my opinion
Crystal Skull is directed by Spielberg, the greatest living filmmaker and one of the most naturally talented directors in the history of cinema. Even his worst films are better and more interesting to watch than the vast majority of films that exist in our culture.
Dial of Destiny is a boardroom manufactured product that lacks any soul or sense of artistry.
Crystal Skull is still one of the worst movies ever made and made by a guy completely phoning it in.
@@joeyjeffrey5892 I'm sorry you feel that way. I disagree completely. Spielberg phoning it in must be lightyears better filmmaking than the vast majority of directors working in Hollywood today.
@@Chakranimated take off the rose colored glasses.
@@joeyjeffrey5892 Duely noted. Btw, Roger Ebert, arguably the greatest film critic of all time, gave Crystal Skull 3.5 out of 4 stars. Perhaps he was also wearing rose colored glasses? Please let me know with your apparently higher authority.
Yes, Crystal Skull is better than Dial of Destiny.
CRYSTAL SKULL is better than DIAL OF DESTINY
Not worst but not really better either.
Indiana Jones doesn't NEED character work. The best movies were when he was just "adventure man". I understand that Last Crusade doesn't follow this and it is a great film and certainly makes Indiana Jones and the relationship between him and his father the main focus. It works, but it's kind of just a miracle that it does. Dial of Destiny forces us to watch a beat up depressed Indy go through a character arc that no one wants to see. Remember in Temple of Doom where the only arc we got was Indy went from "fortune and glory" to "I guess child slavery is bad and I should stop it"? Those movies are fun, this movie wasn't. It was long and self indulgent and I hated it honestly lol.
Indiana Jones and the Diarrhea of Disney! It’s just that.
Okay, having not seen Dial I'm going to call my shot. Here is the definitive Indiana Jones movie list:
1: Raiders (it's not even close)
2: Last Crusade (really fun, but not perfect)
3: Dial of Destiny (Has to be better than the last two)
4: Temple of Doom (Your nostalgia is wrong, this is bad)
5: There is no fifth movie. It doesn't exist.
Maybe according to you, but for me:
1) Raiders of the Lost Ark
2) Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
3) The Last Crusade
4) Temple of Doom
5) Dial of Destiny
This revisionist trend for hating for Temple of Doom is pathetic.
@@skepticalbadger revisionist? Nah I hated it since I saw it 30 years ago. The raft had to sled for the fridge to nuke.
Saw Dial..it’s a good 20 minute movie
I'm concerned the writers axed off our beloved fedora wearing hero, so I plan on not seeing it to avoid that potential pain.
Nah they killed his kid though
@@fluphybunny930 We'll that's depressing. Guess Disney has a habit of making Harrison Ford's fictional roles now a miserable experience.
@@ourfamilyaccount His son is somewhat fridged off screen. The role for Indy isn't miserable at all. After he gets over his reluctance to be involved in the plot, Ford/Indy is all in and even comes up with personal motivation to keep pursuing the mcguffin. It's a fine movie, not amazing, but fine.
@@kevinbarnard355 Appreciate your comment clarifying the story. Thanks
When you choose a film to go and see it's for your own pleasure and for entertaining you keep your criticism too your self
What a daft statement.
Worse.
To everyone who regularly craps on Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic is easily the worst review aggregate website 🍅
It is entertaining. Movie is about entertainment, isn't it?
I disagree indy 4 see
Blame Steve ego not James
Dad me indy in 200 I am 27
You ok
I rewatch watchman again
Yes, Dial of Destiny is worse than Crystal Skull.
I agree and that is sad.
Saw it today.. sadly not impressed… hated the female and kid characters… Crystal Skull is better than dial of destiny. Loved the return of old characters however bot very well used. Well… goodbye Indy 🥃🖖🏻
That's very hard to believing.
Short answer yes it is worse
It's absolutely worse
