  • Hello,
    This video shows how to replace the power window lift motor on 1980-1996 Ford Broncos and F-Series trucks.
    The video shows the simple method that requires to drill out the dimples Ford made to access the window motor bolts, no removing the regulator required.

    1992-1996 the whole door panel removes as one piece
    Tools Required:
    -Phillips screwdriver
    -Flathead screwdriver
    -5/16 Wrench and socket (for motor bolts)
    -1/2 Drill bit with Drill
    -Replacement motor (make sure to buy for the correct side L/R)
    -Replacement door panel clips
    Replacement Parts:

    This video just saved my life! I’ve rebuilt the drivers side motor already and the rivets were replaced with bolts. When I popped the passenger side off the rivets were still in it. Thanks for the videos, they have been really helpful with my 91 Bronco!

      The hardest part is removing the fragile door panel. Be careful and avoid damaging the clip locations as these parts are getting harder to find.

    This is the fastest way to replace the power window motor on the 1980-1996 ford fseries and broncos. Let me know if you need any help regarding this repair.

      Man I cannot get the gears lined up at all
      Do you have any tips to how you did it??

    • @TheFixTech
      @TheFixTech  3 роки тому +2

      @@isiahcalhoun2218 make sure the gear looks the same as the old one. If so then apply power to the motor (plug in the motor and hit the window switch in either direction) and move it a little.

    I used epoxy to fix a few broken clip tabs on my 89 door panel. Worked great, can't remember what the bit size was for the center, but that plus a little dremmel action and it's good as new. I'm sure you could do the same if you have issues finding a tan replacement panel at local yards.

      Thanks I did as well but since most my tabs were broken and the epoxy is permanent the clips would not move around to fit into the door properly. It worked but the panel was not lined up properly, ended up finding a nice used panel.

    Thank you for making this video. You did not repair or replace that ripped plastic sheet before you re- assembled the door panel. Can you please explain why or why not that is important?

    • @TheFixTech
      @TheFixTech  Рік тому +1

      It is important for road noise, I did replace that sheet eventually with sound deadening material in my clean and deaden video.

    Thank you! This was really helpful, as I need to remove this panel for repairs in my '93 XLT. Regarding that plastic weather liner...did you replace that as well?

    • @TheFixTech

      The belt weatherstrip on top of the panel? Yes I did I replaced both the inner and outer and purchased from rock auto.

    I have a 1992 in pretty good condition, 70k, but the same thing happened with auto window. Where do you recommend getting replacement motor? I think mine is a gear also, as it runs and I need to pull it up to close. Is it easy to replace the gears? Thanks in advance

      If your motor is original then you can rebuild the gear, there are plastic plugs inside the motor that strip. The plugs are sold online, otherwise the Dorman motors I linked in the description work good.

      The bottom piece of the door panel? that piece is screwed on with several screws.

    Make a video on how to do the rear window motor just subscribe thanks

    • @TheFixTech
      @TheFixTech  Рік тому +1

      For the rear window I usually rebuild the original motor. Some people use small metal ball bearings or nuts, using metal parts will damage the motor. Replacement plastic glass “plugs” are available and are preferred, that is what I use. I will try to make a video soon.

    I can't believe you did that to your door. That bronco is ruined.
